1. Name a manufacturer that won the 24 hours of Le Mans (overall only).
The top answers here were Ferrari and Porsche while Audi and Rondeau only get mentioned once.
The low answers were quite evenly distributed with only Ferrari chosen twice.
High | | | Low | Ferrari | 4 | | Ferrari | 2 | Porsche | 4 | | Aston Martin | 1 | Audi | 1 | | Bentley | 1 | Rondeau | 1 | | Jaguar | 1 | | | | McLaren | 1 | | | | Porsche | 1 | | | | Renault-Alpine | 1 | | | | Toyota | 1 |
2. Name a driver that won the Indy 500 since 2014.
Not much differences made in the high round as all drivers here got named 2 or 3 times, with Juan Pablo Montoya and Takuma Sato being the top answers. The latter was also chosen by 4 people as their low answer, making him the worst low answer so far. Everyone else was just named once here.
A special shoutout to Ryan Hunter-Reay, the only eligible winner not named by anyone, and the legend that is Dan Wheldon, who was ineligible due to my cruel decision to set the start to 2014. Boo to me for that.
High | | | Low | Juan Pablo Montoya | 3 | | Takuma Sato | 4 | Takuma Sato | 3 | | Helio Castroneves | 1 | Josef Newgarden | 2 | | Marcus Ericsson | 1 | Will Power | 2 | | Simon Pagenaud | 1 | | | | Alexander Rossi | 1 | | | | Will Power | 1 |
3. Name a driver that was Formula 1 drivers champion exactly once.
Nico Rosberg was the way to go here, being the top answer of the whole round with 6 votes. Everyone else only got one vote.
On the other side, his father Keke was the one you shouldn’t have chosen as he was the only driver mentioned more than once.
High | | | Low | Nico Rosberg | 6 | | Keke Rosberg | 2 | Jenson Button | 1 | | Jenson Button | 1 | Phil Hill | 1 | | Damon Hill | 1 | Kimi Räikkönen | 1 | | Denis Hulme | 1 | Jacques Villeneuve | 1 | | Nigel Mansell | 1 | | | | Kimi Räikkönen | 1 | | | | Nico Rosberg | 1 | | | | John Surtees | 1 |
4. Name a World Rallye Championships driver champion apart from Loeb and Ogier.
The reigning WC Kalle Rovenperä was your favourite here with 4 votes. Carlos Sainz was the only driver who got mentioned more than once – including the low round where all of you chose different drivers.
High | | | Low | Kalle Rovenperä | 4 | | Richard Burns | 1 | Carlos Sainz | 2 | | Marcus Grönholm | 1 | Richard Burns | 1 | | Juha Kankkunen | 1 | Tommi Mäkinen | 1 | | Tommi Mäkinen | 1 | Colin McRae | 1 | | Colin McRae | 1 | Ott Tänak | 1 | | Hannu Mikkola | 1 | | | | Kalle Rovenperä | 1 | | | | Petter Solberg | 1 | | | | Ott Tänak | 1 |
5. Name a World Championship currently held by the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation).
The obvious answer here seemed to be MotoGp (up to someone suspecting a trick question) which was the second top answer of this round with 6 votes.
The low round saw some excursions to the more obscure types of motorbike racing, leaving me with quite some research work to sort them out (especially if they are the same or not). I sorted it out the best way I could. There seemed to be far less FIM WCs when I researched this question beforehand
High | | | Low | MotoGP | 6 | | Speedway GP | 2 | Superbike | 1 | | Supercross | 2 | Supercross | 1 | | Ice Speedway | 1 | Supersport | 1 | | MotoGP | 1 | Team Long Track | 1 | | Sand Races | 1 | | | | Sidecarcross | 1 | | | | Speedway U21 | 1 |
The joined winners of the high round were alex and ivan with a perfect 23 points with only Croatia getting near with 21 points. On the other end of the table jdog messed up TMMs 5-pointer by also choosing Will Power.
Round 2 ‘Low’ and ‘Hi-Lo’
The low round saw a 5-pointer by quadsas, directly followed by a bunch of people with 6 points – in fact by everyone who didn’t opted for Takuma Sato here.
In the combined score ivan took the win in front of Croatia. TMM scored another -3 points, while jdog at least got to the positive numbers.
Overall
With some absents this round the total numbers weren’t as big as in round 1, but as previous leader Nemo missed out we get a new overall leader in alex. His only close competitor right now is ivan, with df_Trek and jandal in joined 3rd already 7 points behind the lead.
The low leaders are Croatia and ivan who are already 4 points below everyone else, but as Takuma Sato has shown that’s only a difference of one surprisingly popular choice.
ivan’s also in the lead in the combined score, followed by alex. They’re already some points ahead here, too. On the bottom end TMM is going further to the negative direction resulting in -6 points combined.
I'm with stupid 2023: kandesbunzler26's Round 3
Football (this and that)
1. Name a winner of the German Fußball-Bundesliga (so 1964 onwards) apart from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
2. Name a country that lost a FIFA World Cup final.
3. Name a country that hosted a FIFA World Cup, but never won it.
4. Name a division of the National Football League (NFL).
5. Name a still active NFL franchise that never won the Super Bowl.
PM me your answers until 7 p.m. daily time on Monday, July 10th.

Some WILD answers in here. McRae not being a landslide and in fact getting no votes other than mine is a true mystery, hes like the rally guy for everyone who doesnt watch it. Thought Audi would for sure do very well considering theyve dominated recently and this is quite a germanic forum. I hate all of you

Always go most recent (except Indy 500 I guess lol)... as shown in Rally where multi-time winners fell to the reigning champ who I didn't know so couldn't name
@quadsas - I mean, Audi as a German manufacturer were beaten by another German manufacturer so not sure that logic tracks
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

McRae was my answer until I remembered Carlos Sainz and thought that his name (for his sons sake) is still very prominent. Very surprised by how popular that Finnish guy is though.

1. Name a winner of the German Fußball-Bundesliga (so 1964 onwards) apart from Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Two clear top answers here, both are from the North, both are green and white, both got you 4 points: VfL Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen. Though only one of those is ‘the right’ answer for me … (‘lebenslang grün-weiß’)
On the low side only Köln and Wolfsburg got more than 1 vote with 4 and 3 respectively.
High | | | Low | VfL Wolfsburg | 4 | | 1. FC Köln | 4 | Werder Bremen | 4 | | VfL Wolfsburg | 3 | 1. FC Köln | 1 | | 1. FC Kaiserslautern | 1 | Borussia Mönchengladbach | 1 | | 1. FC Nürnberg | 1 | Hamburger SV | 1 | | Borussia Mönchengladbach | 1 | | | | VfB Stuttgart | 1 |
2. Name a country that lost a FIFA World Cup final.
France was the way to go here with 8 points. TMM went female and voted for Japan.
The low side was more interesting, as Germany got 4 votes and France got 3. Two people went with the women here, both with China. And Croatia got one vote, but not from Croatia.
High | | | Low | France | 8 | | Germany | 4 | England | 1 | | France | 3 | Germany | 1 | | China | 2 | Japan | 1 | | Croatia | 1 | | | | Sweden | 1 |
3. Name a country that hosted a FIFA World Cup, but never won it.
Even clearer than France in the second question Qatar got the win here with 9 votes. Though I’m not sure Qatar has anything to do with Football …
The low answers were more evenly spread with 4 answers getting 2 votes (including China as host of the Womens World Cup again).
High | | | Low | Qatar | 9 | | China | 2 | Canada | 1 | | Qatar | 2 | South Africa | 1 | | South Korea | 2 | | | | Sweden | 2 | | | | Mexico | 1 | | | | Switzerland | 1 | | | | USA | 1 |
4. Name a division of the National Football League (NFL).
This question was set for pretty random answers, and you delivered a well spread field of answers. Interestingly the highest score was set from the NFC North in the low section, where you managed to name less different answers than for the high question. And Nemo showed he has no clue regarding the NFL (as he has stated himself) by choosing two conferences as answers. And though there actually was an Eastern Conference in the NFL back in the 50s (as he clearly knew), it’s still an invalid answer as it’s not a division.
High | | | Low | AFC North | 2 | | NFC North | 3 | NFC East | 2 | | AFC East | 2 | NFC North | 2 | | AFC West | 2 | NFC West | 2 | | NFC West | 2 | AFC East | 1 | | AFC North | 1 | AFC West | 1 | | Eastern Conference | invalid | Western Conference | 1 | | |
5. Name a still active NFL franchise that never won the Super Bowl.
No clear favourites here too, with the top answers (high and low) scoring 3 points each. Nemo showed up here as well with choosing the Yankees and the Texas Rednecks. And while the Yankees are so well known that they actually might be a Football team, I couldn’t find a clue of what the Rednecks are
High | | | Low | Buffalo Bills | 3 | | Arizona Cardinals | 3 | Cleveland Browns | 2 | | Jacksonville Jaguars | 2 | Detroit Lions | 2 | | Minnesota Vikings | 2 | Arizona Cardinals | 1 | | Buffalo Bills | 1 | Atlanta Falcons | 1 | | Carolina Panthers | 1 | Cincinnati Bengals | 1 | | Cincinnati Bengals | 1 | New York Yankees | 1 | | Texas Rednecks | invalid |
Round 3 ‘High’
The high round was highly contested between also those who chose France and Qatar., as those finished within 3 points. df_Trek took the win here with a perfect score of 26. On the bottom end TMM missed the 5-pointer thanks to quadsas choosing the NFC West as well.
Round 3 ‘Low’ and ‘Hi-Lo’
The low round went to ivan with 8 points followed by TMM with 9.
ivan also took the combined score with 16 points with some others following with 14 points. TMM got -3 points for the third time in a row – I think everything’s still working according to the plan here
Overall
alex still leads overall, followed by ivan, df_Trek and jandal who all have a 3 point margin to each other. Everyone else is pretty much out of contention here.
A similar picture with some other names in the low ranking: ivan’s in the lead here, followed by Croatia, TMM and jdog.
The combined score sees a clear lead by ivan who has 6 points more than alex who’s leading df_Trek by 6 points. TMM is last with -9 points.
I'm with stupid 2023: kandesbunzler26's Round 4
the Olympics
1. Name a city that hosted the Summer Olympics before WW II.
2. Name a team sport played with a ball that was part of the 2020 Summer Olympics.
3. Name a country that hosted the Winter Olympics in the 20th century.
4. Name a piece of equipment (that’s not put on the feet) used at the last Winter Olympics.
5. Name a country that hosted both Summer and Winter Olympics.
PM me your answers until 7 p.m. daily time on Friday, July 14th.

The shock when I got to the results and it wasn't TMM who also answered China
Got screwed by the Bundesliga question. I knew people would go more modern than Monchengladbach but as a Liverpool supporter I knew what I had to do

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"

I had to support my 'Hawks and go NFC West, knowing it would ruin the 5'er. And yes, plan still working! Wondering if anyone has figured out what that plan is.
