Well, congratulations, I guess
Despite an often wonky Beltran, you had an amazing year, with lots of second-tier leaders jumping in and getting bit points from many races! Pogacar obviously did an amazing job already, and I'm looking forward to see what he can do once fully maxed! (I can say that now, given that I won't race against him that often )
Beltran eventually contributed his share as well - surely not as many points as you'd expect from him, but 16th in PCT isn't completely awful, either.
But with 12 riders scoring three-digit numbers, it's pretty clear that depth was what finally made you end up that high. Katrasnik had a stunning year, after not being that brilliant the season before. Gaudu and Eriksson rocked the hills, Boris and Bouchard were great helpers for Tadej in the mountain while scoring quite some points themselves as well, Groselj and Christodoulos were a great duo for the TTs - in short, not many big names, but many good scorers!
It'll definitely be a busy transfer period for you, but with your rock solid (and pretty young, except for EAB) core you should have good chances of staying up, even though your plans were made for PCT Good luck!

The feeling is mutual, looking forward to Tadej kicking butt in a different division. Congrats on the promotion, as Fab said your team has a great platform which is just rounding into shape at the right time.

Great way to end the season and confirm promotion. Also great way for Beltran to (perhaps) sign off, both from the team and at max. Looking forward to following your PT journey

It seemed like most rouleurs had outstanding seasons, many better than Katrasnik. Gaudu is very amenable in the way he slots in many lineups and it's yielded more points than one would expect. Pogi and Boris were an excellent combo. Bouchard did his own thing well, him and Crncevic were the stand out FA additions. The TTers were all an underrated bunch that enabled the success of others.

I think we are a bit too young to be honest, at least for life in PT.

Thank you. It would be nice to see him "kicking butt", but it might be a tall task in the more competitive and more rigid PT division.

Well Beltran might have signed off by leading you out into PT also

Congrats on the promotion! Interested to see what direction you take taking the step up, especially with age starting to eat away at Beltran.

We will keep this fairly short, but first we will go through the final races of the season and then address what our final ranking means for us.
Let's start with the big race, Tour of America. There was definitely some apprehension pre race due to how it went last year. Luckily we quickly got rid of the bad taste. Matic Groselj was brought specifically for the prologue and gave us a good start by finishing 2nd. We performed well with a 2-3 placing on the opening hilly stage, but then had a long period of few results. We finished strong with 2 stage victories in the last 3 days by Geoffrey Bouchard and Lucas Eriksson.
The rest of the races were pretty solid also. Our fledgling cobbled team scored some points in Rheden while our last PTHC outing in Montreal was also a good experience with someone other than Eddy Beltran leading a hilly race. Maroc wasn't spectacular with a 2nd place from Zariff and the U25 classification from Pogacar. As always we finish with the season closer in Italy and Giro dell'Emilia. It was our final sponsor goal and we made sure to deliver on it with Beltran finishing in 2nd place.
This was another tremendous season. We didn't expect to improve on our best result of 8th from last year and to be honest a lot of us are still processing the fact that we'll be riding in the ProTour. One thing is for sure, our off-season just got a whole lot busier. We have a lot of thinking and planning ahead of us. I've had some early talks with our sponsors and they're all excited by this opportunity.
We, the staff and riders have to have the same mindset!
We will recap all the riders performances later in the off season. Also we will have further posts about the season and future developments in the coming days. Stay tuned.

What an awesome season! Your depth scoring has been incredible, and it showed at ToA with the various contributors to success. I think your path to promotion has been unique and amazing to follow!

Absolutely brilliant stuff from you guys this season, I know we've talked about it a lot so you know my thoughts but so happy to see you go up and amazed at the quality squad building to get you those depth points - and of course very jealous! Looking forward to your off-season and maxed Tadej in the PT

Indeed this was pretty much all depth driven, ToA is just one example.
I think our path to promotion is two part:
Part 1: Two seasons battling against relegation, doing some bad deals, but acquiring some talents along the way
Part 2: Two seasons of making good deals, some planning improvement, talents developing and lots and lots of luck

You are free to give me tips on how to bounce back to PT immediately after relegating though.
Then I'll just do the opposite
Concerning Cedevita: congratulations! A team that has been improving year after year, creating more depth every transfer season, and will now be where they deserve to be: PT. One legendary Slovenian team will no longer be winning the division, so it's time for the next one to step up I assume Beltran will be sold, so it was nice to see he was able to end his Cedevita career in style with a first and second place, after not having the best season so far. Best of luck in PT, and looking forward to our talks during transfer season. (and before and after)

Happy to be promoting alongside you! I think we both have a lot of work to do, but you having Pogacar maxing this year should make it an easier transition.

Isostar is on a different level. Would have been pretty fun to have two Slovenian teams in PT. Maybe next year?

I maybe have Pogacar, but you still have a way more balanced team.
Let's both do our best!

Race | Country | Category | Goal | Cost | Tour de Pologne | | 2.HC | Win | **** | Clasica San Sebastian | | 1.PTHC | Top 10 | *** | Balkans International | | 2.PTHC | Top 5 | **** | Giro dell'Emilia | | 1.HC | Top 10 | ** | Team Standings | | MGUCI | Top 15 | ** |
Tour de Pologne - FAILURE This was an absolutely dreadful attempt at winning as Eddy Beltran finished 13th. We have a few of these each year and by "these" we mean races where we do great the year prior and terrible the following year. As a result it inevitably bites us in the rear when it comes to goals.
Clasica San Sebastian - SUCCESS We 'only' needed a top 10 in San Sebastian and we got just that with a 6th place finish by Eddy Beltran. PTHC are always a bit unpredictable with PT teams involved as the startlists can vary a lot. It wasn't too bad on that occasion and we were able to take advantage.
Balkans International - SUCCESS Balkans is our one true 'home' race on the MGUCI calendar. As always it's in the PTHC category which means it offers a better goal score, but the competition is always fierce. Lucky for us it's the one race Eddy Beltran is super consistent at. He's never failed to finish in the top 5 to clear our 2nd sponsor goal.
Giro dell'Emilia - SUCCESS If we always end up failing our win goals, we also tend to overperform our easier goals. We failed in Emilia as our win goal in 2020 and 2021 after winning it in 2019. So an easy top 10 for us here and Eddy Beltran obliged with a 2nd place. That's how the cookie crumbles, I guess.
PCT Team Standings - SUCCESS This is the surprising one. You must believe me when I say we did not plan to finish 4th and secure automatic promotion to the PT division. This was meant to be a transition season, but now we're transitioning into the ProTour.

Pologne was obviously a flop and a weird race in general but a pretty awesome performance in goals by you and exactly what you want when you are promoting to have that nice budget boost!

4/5 is really outstanding and you've massively overachieved your Team Standings goal which should give you boost in the budget. Good luck in the PT

I really can't complain with 4/5 in goals, although I do tend to pick pretty easy ones so I was expecting at least 3/5. That little extra cash never hurts come transfer time

Seems like somebody is going to PT with some cash to spend! Looking forward to see what exactly you'll spend it on though, training your regional core (with the most important riders perhaps not eligible yet) or going for a big new rider via a transfer. I'm sure you'll make the right decision Congratulations on the good goal picking!
