I felt there were some justice to that. Although not clear if he is going to ride any spring classics.

A bit over 24 hours to go, would be nice to get all lists on time for once
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Bad news for Marco, as Hirschi crashed in Algarve yesterday and broke his right radius. He'll be out for at least 8 weeks... And obviously really bad news for the rider himself, as he already missed out on half the classics season last year.

Draft Rounds 11-13
Two guys a bit late with their picks, but not that much influence on the draft. The home nations round was tough for some, with some precious names stolen the round before. The most chosen/set nation in Round 12 was Belgium. A variety of names for Round 13, with a lot of happy people I think.

For the final round, let's say due on Tuesday 9:00 am normal europe time. It would be great if we could have one round with everyone making it on time
R14: A rider from your home nation or a country bordering it (pick only one country)
R15: Free pick
R16: Free pick

Indeed, the home nation pick wasn't that obvious, and I wouldn't be surprised if mine was the lowest scoring one... I first wanted to go for Suter, who had a good start into 2023 and surely will have more freedom with team Tudor than with UAE last year, but he crashed in Algarve and I haven't found any details whether he's been injured or not. So it's Bissegger, "little Küng" I'd say, as his goal for 2023 is indeed following the footsteps of the "other Stefan". He should have the engine it takes for the long cobbled races, and 21st in Roubaix last year isn't that shabby. Let's see if he can indeed get some good results on the pavés already this year.
For round 12, I was hesitating between Ulissi and Rota on top of my list - finally it was Rota, but with Bikex' pick it didn't matter anyway. He's the second returning rider after Schmid - and I even picked him in the same round as in 2022
His best result last year was 4th in Laigueglia, let's see if he can improve on that. He hasn't been stellar so far this year, but he was solid. Let's hope the top form will be there once the classics season starts
And then we have Welsford in R13. Winner of two stages in San Juan in 2023 already (not the biggest race, but some really strong competition), he seems to be in good shape - and he can handle some cobbles. 4th in Bredene Koksijde Classic and 3rd in Scheldeprijs last year, I'm hoping for more of the same
In general for R11-13, I think cunego's bunch of sprinters could get some good results, as well as jaxika's stage racers - if they do race some classics. Bikex did a good job as well imho. And bbl picking up Aranburu is just funny (but definitely not a bad choice by any means!)

Another round I'm happy with. Really needed a sprinter so Thijssen comes in handy. Nys is a bit of a risk, but I'm just really curious what he can do. Ballerini should move up in the pecking order with Stybar gone, although I didn't like his previous season.
The 59'ers win the round for me. Three sprinters I was hoping to still be available for the last round.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Surprised I was able to snag Aranburu this late. Dude was one of the few guys to score on both cobbles and hills last year, and he project to improve this year at his age.
Vermaeke was just a throwaway American pick. Haussler was a somewhat risky pick. He has held his own late into his career, and I needed a cobbler. But admittedly he could fall off a cliff performance wise and DNF every classic.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

I really needed to stock up on sprinters, so I'm glad I got that done. Gives me more freedom for the final rounds, too. For Ackermann, I don't know if he'll ride many classics, but he could score very well in any sprinter race he enters, same for Sarreau. Groves wasn't my first choice as a free pick, with the likes of Biermans, Ulissi or Rota ahead of him, but he's still a rider I'm happy to have.
I'm also in deep regret over not prioritizing Pogi more in round 1, given the tear he's on right now Though it remains to be seen whether he can keep that up.

Yes, would have been kind of him to announce that a week earlier. Still I knew the risk and figured it was worth the gamble. I am sure having a total passenger won't hurt our chances at all.

Not sure whether it's a good thing that I got the first 3 riders I wanted, but for now I'm content to have them.
Ganna is in a huge form so far, taking 2nd overall in San Juan and Algarve. And he wants to target some classics again - notably Paris-Roubaix. Chances are he won't score a single point - but if he does get a great result, it'd be a shame to have missed out.
Welten was in the team last year and scored quite some solid results - lower Top 10s, in the "smaller" races. I guess I can't expect more than that from those late rounds anyway, so he should be a good rider to have.
Van Lerberghe also got several Top 20 results on the cobbles, and I guess it's always good to have a QuickStep rider on the team for the Northern classics.
I'll definitely have some misses in my picks, as I've learnt last year that my classics knowledge isn't big enough yet, but the draft was fun and I hope the races will be, too

Fwiw, Ganna was my #1 Free Pick for those reasons. With Guerreiro and Pasqualon, two other Top 4 picks were snatched away, but I'm happy with Narvaez and Van Asbroeck. Narvaez might be a bit hit or miss, but if he comes even close to replicating the two 6th places in Strade and E3 from last year, that's a good pickup. Not sure what to expect from Van Asbroeck either, but he has potential to score well and he's shown at least a little something this year with 7th and 14th places in Mallorca.
Aniolkowski is a wild card. I hadn't even heard much of him before prepping for this draft, but he has some decent results in classics and Human Powered Health is in many of the smaller races on the schedule. I hope he'll do well in a few of them. I think in general, I have a decent mix of riders. Could've perhaps used one more for the hills - Guerreiro would've really rounded out the draft well -, but I'm very cautiously confident. It certainly makes me look forward to these races a lot more
