Some interesting attacking work from Lopez Nolasco (and Beltran) in the last two stages. Obviously they are not really at the level to really compete with the best, but it feels great to see two LPH talents doing their thing at the highest level in MG Sterbini will probably fail to finish this Vuelta, but that's okay
Kudus back in the top-10, could still see him coming back/close. Thanks for some more great reports, Imladrik!

Catching up on the last few stages. It continues to be a very interesting race. Strong outings from Yates, he made good use of his stats there. Kudus is not looking well right now from a GC standpoint, but all it takes is one great day and/or one poor performance from Dombrowski and he's back in it. Also, this must be one of the better GT sprinter performances of all time if Degenkolb continues like this. Really shows the benefit of sending a top sprinter to GTs where the sprinting competition gets weaker and weaker.

That was a great final climb by Dombrowski and Tratnik! Always well positioned at the front and a nicely timed leadout. Second is a good result in a hilly stage like this and the bonus seconds plus small gap definitely help in the GC battle with Kudus.
The only worry is Yates' massive form. If he continues like this we'll lose the jersey to him in the coming days.
Enjoying the reports so far btw, Imladrik!

Great victory from Khodayari, congeats KO. Yates continuing to chip away with these little seconds at each mountain top finish is worrying. In any case it's good to see Eastman get himself obto a podium place.

Another very strong finish by Dombrowski! Shame we didn't reel the break in, because this would've been a stage win. On the other hand it might be wise to save the legs of our support riders for the final week.
Getting those 9 seconds on Yates is a pretty big deal in our short term struggle for the jersey.
Also just realised I haven't been paying enough attention to Eastman. The guy has sneaked himself into a pretty good GC position and he can make quite the difference in that TT. He might actually smoke us out of the jersey there.

Good stage by Jaramillo! Why did we chase in the pack though? Weird tactics with Higuita again falling behind. Also so close to retaking the TC lead :/

Hmm Kastrantas tried, but ended up sitting between 2 chairs. He would have been a good bet for a decent stage result if he didn't chase KOM, and he didn't chase KOM well enough to get any points to the rankings.
Chiarello again not at his best, and neither Mavrikakis nor Spanopoulos try anything and just float around...

Great job by Khodayari. Smartly staying away from all those kom sprints when its unlikely to have any benefits and having Gavars with him probably allowed him to save more energy than everybody else.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Formolo slowly starting to fade away and this was supposed to be one of the mountain stages that suited him. Still, with such small gaps things can quickly turn around from one stage to the next.

Carthy is not doing too badly here without truly being amongst the top favourites in any stage really. 6th is a nice place to be but a top 5 is still up for grabs even with Kudus yet to overtake us.

Munoz really not realizing he has 79/73 mtn/hill apparently Lopez Nolasco doing really well though, great to see, and happy he grabs his first GT top-10 here. Congrats to knockout on a great win, and thanks for another superb report, Imladrik!

Starting to sound like a broken record. Another amazing leadout and sprint!! Bernard did such a good job that we even managed to sneak away and Dombrowski finished it in style. Of all the non-flat stages this was pretty much the one I least expected to win. The extra time gained on Eastman and Kudus is also very welcome.
So now we head to the TT and I don't know what to expect to be honest. Does an in-form Eastman put two minutes into Dombrowski on a 32.5km TT? And to which degree does that final hill help us? Eastman's achilles heel is that 71 HI, but so far he has mitigated that beautifully.
Exciting times!

This finish is one of those that annoy me so much. Why would only Formolo follow Bernard/Dombo? Didnt seem like it was a question of not being able to do so for most and then that just doesnt make any sense from 10+ teams' POV
(Another great report tho)

What a shame Jaramillo couldn't hold on, good ride! Yeah stages like this should be breakaway stages.

Such a weird stage. Dombo taking this one was really out of bounds for us. With Formolo as runner up on top of it is a real punch in the gut. Unexplainable how Van Stayen just doesnt easily win this sprint. Not a good day for us. Hopefully tomorrow will treat us better than this.
Congrats on the win in any case DD. I'd be really surprised if Dombo were to lose his lead in 30 odd km of TTing, but Im hoping Eastman can get himself up on the podium again.

Surprised that stage went to the peloton and not the breakaway. Good to see us put a rider up front, we did what could be expected of us. When the favourites were fighting for the win, we couldn't expect any result.
Congratulations on the win, DD! |

Formolo bouncing back so good I'm now disappointed he didn't also take the stage win
It looks like it might finally be Dombrowski's GT!

Sorry for today's report, I fumbled while doing it (and again forgot that I can't save replays on TTs -_-' ) |

Don't worry about it, it happens to the best of us! TT's are always tricky to report!
