Draft will take place this evening.
Feel free to speculate here, but don't give away who you have picked!

Yeah
Will we get the exact start time later?
Compared with my last CT draft two years ago, I feel like the DB is way more dried out this time. Back then, it was easy to get a decent sprinter in the draft; this time around, not much is left. Will be interesting to see who is going for points, and who rather has the focus on free talents!
Good luck to everyone, may you all get your main targets (except if they're on my list of course )!

It was really difficult making the list, as I could not find a lot of talent still available |

If i observed everything correctly my list should be long enough i get 2 of them for sure. Most complicated was how to prioritize them, in the end it was a mixture of focus region and skill so maybe that helps me getting higher ones.
None of them will be a leader though, but either important doms or some who can add some nice points themself.

Was a really interesting DB this year after the transfer season. A lot more teams then there have previously been so a lot less top riders available.
Not sure if the way I went is the best way but we will see in due time. Quite different the further down my list we get so should be interesting to see what happens!

First ever CT Draft! No-one will be surprised with my picks.
Interested to see who's going after scorers, who's staying regional, and who's being wild!

Yes, I'll make it!
Some of my top names on the list were snatched right before the transfer window closed and I guess some of the others still aviailable will be heavily contested.
Will be interresting to see which path the new CT-managers choose to go as they get the first picks |

Timings: I'd like to do Round 1 at 7pm UK, Round 2 at 9pm.
Just relies on finding some prep time, else the start may get pushed back.

As someone who believes point scorers shouldn't be available in the CT draft because it cheapens the investment people put into salaried riders I am happy with the more limited field.
It is still pretty rich in my mind, there are still many riders who are PT level in a less robust database. I didn't even look at the sprinters.
Will be offline during the draft so will have miss out on the fun as it happens.

I agree with this. Obviously I'm in a place of privilege this year in PCT, but I see the lack of terrific options as a really good sign for the health of our game long term. The last 2 roster filler guys on a CT team shouldn't be significant scorers. If they are, there's a problem. The fact that anybody could pick up a 78 sprinters for free in the past was a bad thing.
Makes more sense for DB health and roleplay for them to generally be regional guys or wildcard talents, and I still think that's fun.

Surely the 2016 Liege-Bastogne-Liege winner, Sven Fritsch will be picked up. If not - Virtual Amateur Team will!

Class of 2021
Johan Fredrik Ziesler survived the day long breakaway on Stage 5 of the Tour of South Africa, finishing 2nd on the day to Ian Boswell, and gaining enough to finish 5th overall at the end of the race. With C1 ranking points on offer, this helped him to be the best performing drafted rider of last year.
Exactly half of last year's drafted riders already have a contract for the 2022 season - including two that ended up on the not competing Polestar outfit. Some got renewed, some got picked up from the free agency, one is a stagiare, and one just had to wait for the right year - Rudy Barbier found himself in a bidding war this time around!

Wow, Gjensidige picked up 128 points on the drafted riders last year, that's some achievement!
Very good signings by Strava and HelloFresh aswell, passing the 100 points mark.
Great overview, thank you SN! |

Back in 2019, I got 303 points alone from first round pick Guillén
Unfortunately, similar scoring won't happen from draft riders this year
