Welcome to Glanbia's 2022 HQ. I'll cover some history later but first what's new
First up a new Jersey (went for Green this year) by the genius that is @Hillis91
Secondly, it's official- Glanbia is now called "Glanbia". Extensive research carried out showed that "Glanbia Foods Cycling Project" was unnecessarily long for the public. We are aware of media speculation about this research costing €100,000 and being carried out by my brother-in-law in the pub but we will not be commenting publicly on that unless it is proven in which case we will blame him.
As we all know Glanbia is an Irish CT Team with a focus on Time Trials and prioritising Irish riders. The team also focuses on other English-speaking areas outside the EU. Having identified South Africa as a key new market Glanbia's door is now open to riders from that country joining New Zealand, Australia, Canada and our second most important terrain- USA. Fans can rest assured that I checked Wikipedia and English is an official language there.
Glanbia manager MacC has also been given exceptional authority to approach riders from other countries if a suitable rider from our core areas cannot be found....
Good luck to all in the upcoming season especially the newcomers

Congrats on the name change, think we had all forgotten the full name anyway, so the research was at least accurate.
Are you sure about that secondary focus in the US? There are a lot of other places where they speak better English, the Netherlands for example.

We're sorted over here in the Netherlands, thank you very much
Liking the name change and looking forward to see how you go about this season. All the best

Thanks guys. Sorry Ulrich, it seems beef consumption in the US could still be higher, I'm surprised too, while dairy consumption in thr Netherlands is definitely at saturation levels.
I agree though that if quality of English spoken was the rule it would be a whole different list

Would like to second Abhi on the Netherlands being saturated. Several PT teams, Philips, indeed better to go look in the USA. Definitely like the jersey. Very neat and simple, which makes it very elegant. Time trials in CT won't be too easy to win with guys like Rekita there, but I'm still rooting for you to be able to get some nice results there as well

As the excitement builds Glanbia have announced details of which riders have re-signed and which have failed to agree terms or simply not been offered a new deal. Firstly the departs:
Martin | Daniel | King | Ben | Meyer | Cameron | McConvey | Connor | Corwin | Dadley | McCarthy | Eoin | Richardson | Ian | Cote | Pier-Andre | Corkery | Dillon | Downey | Mark |
The team were disappointed to fail to agree an extension with Dan Martin, ancient as he is, and wish the other released riders the best of luck,
Connor McConvey and Ian Richardson have been stalwarts of the team since its inception and will be missed.
Most of these riders are 30+ but McCarthy, Cote, Corkery and Downey all have a career ahead of them hopefully

And the renewals:
| | Wages | Change | Craddock | Lawson | 100000 | 20000 | Bennett | Sam | 100000 | -5000 | Nelson | Ricki | 60000 | 0 | Haas | Nathan | 55000 | -5000 | Downey | Sean | 55000 | -20000 | Brandt | Tyler | 55000 | -5000 | Cruz | Freddy | 55000 | -15000 | Oram | James | 55000 | 0 | Frame | Alex | 50000 | -5000 | English | Felix | 50000 | -2000 | Teggart | Matthew | 50000 | 0 | O'Loughlin | Michael | 50000 | 0 | Hahessy | Sean | 50000 | 0 | Murphy | Jack Bernard | 50000 | 50000 | Total | | 835000 | |
Craddock's increase after a good season is more than cancelled out by departures and savings. Murphy was a draft pick last time.
The elephant in the room is that most of these guys are declining ....that spare wage cap will be put to use bringing in new leaders as much as possible.
I will listen to offers for Nelson, English and Hahessy.

How on earth did you manage to bring down one sprinter's wage and keep the other one's stable? Hats off for that!
The roster looks fine for sprints and TTs after renewals, but as you say, declines are looming... Will be interesting to see what strategy you'll choose to rejuvenate your team

Interested to see how you start reshaping this team more for the future. And a slightly weird amount of 55k riders!

Some big cuts, including Dan the Man finally reaching the end of the line. Interested to see how much you rebuild. Might be time for a real promotion push.

Really like your jersey and Bennett's NC!

Hopefully you can add a leader or two to propel you to new heights

Ha ha ! You're all very polite.
Given their ages I wanted to reduce the sprinters further ...
I can see the reality, the team is old and seriously lacking leaders..Really need a clever transfer season or to just start the full rebuild.
Sorry about poor format, I will hopefully be on a better device over the weekend

Good to see you learning from the past mistakes and trimming a lot of fat rather than keeping most riders on the roster. Rebuilding is always fun, as Ive been doing that for three years now

I was jealous of Nelson's salary but then I looked at his stats. Yikes. Unfortunately there are no good US riders available on the market so you will have to focus on those other nations plus, of course, the Netherlands.

As promised some clarity thanks to Knockout's brilliant tool
Michael O'Loughlin and Matthew Teggart will be looking for a PT loan. Both can be useful teammates in Time Trials or Cobbled races respectively.
Also to draw your attention to Felix English who is a minimum wage baroudeur who can be bought at the right price

A fully Irish Free Agents market so far for Glanbia.
Conor Dunne is an all rounder who will be an important team-mate and attacker. Honestly, bit surprised to pick him up on minimum wage
Ben Healy is a bright star for the future of Irish Cycling. Glanbia were outbid last year but the team that signed him never raced meaning he missed a year of development. As he is still only 22 it shouldn't really matter. A puncher or TT specialist in the making...
Liam Curley is another Irish talent, A real all-rounder, definitely could become a solid fixture in the team

Great to see you were finally still able to pick up Healy - and as you say, he didn't really lose much, as he'll still be maxed at 25y.o.
Let's see if you can keep up your streak of signing only Irish riders
