National Championships 2021 Discussion

Thread based on previous years

As the format from last year proved to be working very well, the 2021 MGUCI National Championships will again use the same formula.

In case you've forgotten, here's the drill from previous years:

All teams will have 8 riders with gaps being filled by 'Generic Riders' with all stats being 55.

There are 24 teams for all races, meaning that there will be teams consisting of solely generic riders in almost every race.


On bigger nations with lots of nomminated riders had to be cut by rider strength in case of too many riders/teams. Therefore if a team had a single rider that was not made for the chosen terrain, there's a high chance to lose his NC spot in such case.

Should a team has more than 8 riders from a single nation, those riders were sorted in ascending order and a cut was made after the 8th rider. After that the remaining riders go to a second team or in extreme cases even third team to make sure all nominated riders from that team can participate.

Two nice winners of the first nc's I think Smile

Nice to see I got at least one regional NC next year with the Honduran Lopez Nolasco. Laizer very probably won't be on the team anymore, as he declines and is far from our regional focus.

Looking forward to the other NC's, would love to see Manninen win the Finnish sprint, but can't be sure with pcm Pfft Ulloa to win the Mexican tricolore would be an MG dream coming true.

Glad Bennett held on there ! English is actually a Glanbia rider on loan at MOL so that's a 1-2-3 .

In the TT Mullen was always likely to win so a 2-3 isn't bad!

Dude no why did we do something so cool in a double attack that I never expected and just to get it ruined (to see what would have happened not saying we would have won) by a puncture. Does PCM22 have the option to turn them off? With no crashes they are really such a prick and the rarity makes them even worse

Sergent in NZL is nice to have as competition was close but on paper he was strongest.

Belgium as one of my main was unfortunate as first Eeckhout was missing out and then Van Hooydonck punctured, which is obviously worst case in short NCs.

Can`t complain though as the team still tried anything, in especially De Bie as outsider on that course.

Frison 2nd in the ITT is same as Sergent in NZL, just the other way around. Would have loved to get that one but Campenaerts was just better on paper and on the road.

A good number of near misses already with McCormick and Archbold podiuming in NZ and Merlier with the best ride of the season to take 2nd in Belgium. Good results I guess. Congrats to all the winners so far!
