F*ck PCM. Sorry, not much else to say. How stupid can that A"I" be to build a train with Thièry and Lienhard? For once I didn't send any proper leadouts, but that f*cking game still messes up big time. Oh well, I guess it's definitely time to forget about MG.

Sorry UU, not your fault ofc.

Welp, season on the line, and Lander doesn't sprint. Not even in the first 30 riders. Nowhere to be found. You never can expect a sprinter to score on any given day, and Lander isn't a world beater, but when there are several pure puncheurs and rouleurs sprinting and getting top 10's instead, it's frustrating. Nevermind the painful fact that Bertilsson gets a podium when the dude couldn't get a top 5 if he life depended on it in CT last season.

I'm glad Sinkeldam's going for the KOM points too, but very obviously not the day to do it. Hopefully wasting that energy doesn't cost him the jersey later.

No ambitions for the stage, no result, no worries. The hills are where it counts.

Hate to say that but i kinda want to defend the AI here. There is simply not a single team here that has something close to a good leadout train here. Carrefour has 67-79-79 (and tried to do a leadout too), Indosat has 66-75-79, Moser has 65-75-79 if we dont count Sagan, Puma 69-74-78 with Ganna as the 69, Assa Abloy has 69-69-80 (and tries to do an even worse one).

So your 72-73-79 (with solid energy, flat, acc combo for it) is arguably one of the best leadout options here. Now i like shitting on the sprint AI a lot myself but here the AI basically only has the choice between setting up some team that tried to avoid a leadout with one or doing a completely chaotic sprint without any sprint trains. So whatever they do with the sprint preparation, it will look bad. Ofc, it sucks that you are once again on the wrong side of bad luck.

Spoiler
The problem that this game very very rarely performs good leadouts is still very annoying

A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

My observation is the sprinters deemed as favorites will try to form leadouts, even if they they don't have a good one. So if you have a top sprinter, simply not having qualified lead out riders doesn't help.

Also the sprint AI does seem to periodically ignore one qualified sprinter for no apparent reason - I have seen that in a few races, think Lander drew that straw here.

Nobody in the break again but this stage was never going to impact anything, so it's still ok I guess. Need to do something soon though.

Thanks for the reports so far and congrats to the winners Smile

Bambang close at the finish, all we can ask for. Still disappointed Jensen is like 150th overall after ruining our chances of taking anything from this yesterday. What the heck *was* that?

Congrats on the win, and thanks for the report!

I do not like this. Ria did well, but Roman's and Lutsenko's position compared what other GC men did hints towards Lutsenko being used to support Roman which would be inherently stupid. Let's hope I'm wrong, but I fear that a lot.

Stage 3 posted but will likely not get to post Stage 4 tomorrow. So will do an extra one over the weekend.

Better than expected stage for us GC wise. Hope Teuns and Raileanu can keep this up. Still hoping we can mount a KOM challenge as we have riders to try it.

Congrats to red and thanks for the report Ulrich Smile

Not an amazing stage for us, but definitely pretty good on the whole. Aranburu got distanced at the very last, but only lost a little time. So far, so good. Him even trying for GC at all and being in line for a PTHC minor placing would be a fantastic turn of events for us. Now I just hope he can keep up the consistency and I don't jinx myself.

Obviously I would have preferred Sinkeldam get in the break and get a stranglehold on the KOM, especially after he wasted energy yesterday, but hopefully he can still do that later. For now, it was nice to see Asgreen at the front of the race.

So yeah, those are our top 2 priorities now. Aranburu staying somewhere in the teens on GC, and Sinkeldam winning KOM. If Lander decided to sprint, even better.

Wow?! Shock

I for sure didn't expect that, MAL who? Just joking Pfft

Beltran really couldn't have timed it better. He didn't follow the first attacks, but remained in good position and then followed the right rider. He absolutely profited from that. Still I would never expect him to gap MAL there (+3 DH? Pfft) or get an 8'' gap on everyone Grin

I never expect Beltran to win amongst this competition, his 1st win here, but this is a great start and puts us in position to make our sponsor goal Smile

And of course this should boost our scoring from this race since it seems we won't get any depth apart from Gaudu maybe. It's gonna be a big challenge to control the race now, but let's give it a go Smile

Thanks for the reports Grin Can you add the team names in the GC results next time? Pfft

Nice to see Aidan in the breakaway this early in the race. Koretzky collapsning like that wasn't quite as great.

We obviously won't be scoring many GC points so let's just try to make it an interesting race from the front. Hopefully we can secure a decent stageresult here and there - and if Aidan keeps attacking the KOM could be in play. Would be a good consolidation when we clearly won't get the needed points from this.

Intense stage! Beltran this season is just amazing, congratulations red! Similar to you, I’m surprised Lopez didn’t prove superior there, as I thought he had the stage wrapped up seeing the gap on the descent.

Thank you for the report, UU!

Kwiatkowski with a good stage placing, and such a promising GC position. Suspect the two next hilly stages won’t give many gaps, meaning everything could come down to the final day. With a very tight GC as it stands now, anything can happen there.

Having said that, there’s no room to sleep on the following stages, as the close GC makes even the smallest time losses very significant.

Lutsenko proving that my fears weren't justified but couldn't give us the result we hoped for yet. Great report, congrats redordead!

Let's go! Tremendous stage for us given our prospects here.

Sinkledam needed to be in the breakaway, and he was. Great work to get Sulvaran in the break too though. That was unexpected and ends up being a lifesaver. Jensen was clearly too strong for everyone else, and I thought for sure Sinkeldam had cooked himself trying to go for the mountain points. When Gyasi went back I questioned it because it seemed like we were giving away a stage result.

But oh how wrong I was. Sinkeldam recovered after the climbing and comes home 2nd here. And Gyasi 6th in a PTHC stage! Incredible. Those stage results, and then Sinkeldam gets the points lead too? Really loving this aggressiveness. It's paying off. I think with Jensen in the mix now, the KOM win is likely off the table. But if Ramon can still come second, he's also scored a few just from holding jerseys each day. No question he's already done his part here.

Good stage, let's keep it going. Not sure how much energy Sinkeldam has left, but he's obviously gotta defend his jerseys as long as possible. Hopefully the fact that he leapfrogged a bunch in GC today won't prevent that, cause it's not like he can hold onto that position anyway. Then we just need Aranburu to stay alert for his own GC.

Thanks for the report, congrats to Eden. Much needed win after KHJ crapped the bed earlier.

While the stage was apparently (almost) perfect for Carlsberg, it's completely the other way around for us. I really, really, really don't get why we send the clearly worst possible rider up front while we've got some great breakaway riders who basically are on the team for stages like this.
If I continue, I would very much appreciate if one of the "breakaway heros" of MG (they clearly do exist) could share some of his knowledge with me in terms of how to build up a team that works often well with breakaways. Because we clearly don't, despite having some riders that I consider well suited - but the game doesn't. I'm honestly clueless.

Anyway, congrats to Eden, much needed success after that horrible first stage!
