Great ride from Matthews, slightly underwhelmed by AC so i guess that balances out. Moving on with still some vague hopes of success here.

Nothing for us as expected, although Mutsumine's 48th place might mean he is trying to make something out of the GC? And with something I mean a top-50
Thanks for the report, LLS!

Can't remember the last time Dumoulin had a decent TT or lived up to his stats! Not a good start for us. Hope things improve.

Congrats fj! A good win.
Nothing stage for us really, thought Arif Prayogo could do well but I don’t even think I see him on the results list unless I’m totally blind (I probably am!)? Anyway, I hope Bambang can surf some wheels tomorrow to a good result
Thanks a heap for the report LLS

Why did i have to say anything
Matthews implodes i assume trying to support Altur, a rider with some Hl and Fl stat. Christ, the Spaniard is f*cking awful!
All hopes lie with AC, so he'll puncture on Stage 3. Leaving Perez as our beset option. Oof the fact we might not finish last in the PCT from here will be a good result for the season.

You gotta be absolutely fricking kidding me. What the actual hell? The only time in the world a split doesn't come back together on a flat finish in PCM, and my entire team besides Lander is caught behind it for no reason whatsoever. Trentin and Sinkeldam are just sitting back, chilling, watching the race slip away.
Top 5 goal here, perfectly suited to us, and they figure out a way to blow it on a pure flat stage. Unreal. I'm just completely at a loss. Obviously I've had my fair share of good luck this season. But by God, this game can really be insufferable.
At least they weren't alone, plenty of other big favorites caught with their heads up their asses too. The ones who survived now have a clear path to the podium.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Wow. I was gonna be annoyed that the game chose Hadi instead of Stallaert as our sprinter, but apparently, we still came away from this with big gains. If I see it correctly, Stallaert is the only main cobbler besides Vanbilsen and Tom David to not lose time. The hills could still derail Stallaert's entire race, but we have a fairly realistic shot to get the yellow jersey over the next two days and then who knows ...
Comiserations to those whose riders suffered today, congrats to Abhi and thanks for the report LLS

A shame to have Manarelli not sprinting, because this was by far our stage with the most chances of scoring points. Final flat stage might go to the breakaway like last year. Nevertheless, very happy with the winner here. Go go Philips!
Just like last year this was a very tricky stage, with many being gapped. Some riders being gapped are obviously a 'joke' (conmiserations), but I think it's interesting to see Mutsumine finished in the first group and moves up to 21nd in GC. Will he actually kind of survive the cobbles and remain in a scoring GC position? Will be fun to follow.
Thanks for the nice report, LLS

It has been a while since a Minion did a proper sprint so hats off to Kalaba.
Not sure if I like which riders lost time for us, hardly see Kalaba or young Vansevenant as GC leaders...

Hampus!? That wasn't team tactics!
When he was part of the established breakaway, I kind of started thinking it would do no harm in the end, as he should be able to keep up when getting caught, due to his high flat and res. Then seeing him struggle to follow De Gendt was worrying, and then reading there were splits, he was meant to be behind after that effort to keep up with De Gendt.
A pity, as it looks to have thrown away his GC chances, especially with the hilly stage coming as the final GC stage. |

Career highlight yellow jersey for Burr Ho who normally toils for his team leader, great to see.
Thanks for the report LLS and congratulations to the winners.

I don't really have a leader for the race, so I'm hoping for breakaways. But I guess I'll take 4/8 riders making the split.
Love to see Philips winning though

We've waited a long time for something like this! Great stuff from the team to keep everyone important in the first group and TVA signing off in the best possible way. After a bad TT, this was a great comeback.
Thanks for the congrats and for the report

Congrats Abhi!
A shame Bambang fell off hard at the end, but somehow Mu and Setiawa managed to stay in the front group which is lucky considering the riders who didn’t make it back. Hopefully a few breakaway appearances to come now.
Thanks for the report!

So close for Kump. Also GVK is completely gone from any GC stuff so praying for some breakaway action from him!
Thanks for the report LLS and congrats to Abhi on the win!

Well, I guess sometimes chewing out your riders for a disappointing, lazy performance actually works.
That performance certainly feels good after yesterday. A little embarassing too seeing how frustrated I was in the thread. But major commiserations first to Eurosport and Blythe today. Vanbilsen too suddenly completely cracked while Senni stayed at the front for Lierse. Definitely some weird results. A lot of the guys who survived yesterday had issues today, and vice versa. All told, we clearly got the better end of that exchange.
Obviously I'm thrilled at this outcome though! A win is a win, and Trentin used his skills to perfection. It seemed early like Trentin had good legs. We worked a lot on the front, and he certainly went with the right moves when Altur jumped. I really was not expecting the gaps to get that big though! There weren't that many cobbles on course. In the end the race was fast enough to hurt people though. To gain 2 minutes on most guys and shoot right back up to 3rd on GC is really a remarkable outcome for the rankings and our goals.
We really need to back this up with another strong performance tomorrow now. We're top of the pure cobblers now, with one more chance left. We need to gain enough time to put most of the non-cobblers completely out of it, so we can be safe in the top 5 time wise for the hilly stage. Obviously Trentin's hill is better than most cobblers, but he could still lose several minutes on a lot of guys there.

Second podium of the year for Altur, but not enough to get into the Top10 GC whilst AC drops over 6'. Flop of a race... again.

Okay, so ... on the one hand, really not great by Stallaert to lose almost 2'30 here to Trentin/Van der Haar and 2 minutes to Anderberg/Baugnies etc. Not sure what happened there, perhaps just a bad day.
On the other hand ... Janvier Hadi is suddenly in second place overall?!?! How did that happen? Vliegen is 12th as well, if they somehow survive tomorrow at/close to the front, they might have a real shot at a good result here. The more likely scenario, I fear, is that Hadi and Vliegen get kicked in the teeth tomorrow and Stallaert and Lampaert lose a ton of time the day after and we end up with little to show for. That said, this race has been all over the place, so what the hell do I know.
Congrats bbl, Trentin is now the top favorite he was before the race!
