Wish I could have been more active in the second half of the spring classics games, but I couldn't keep up with the transfer windows. Often Velogames wouldn't update from the previous race for several days after the previous race. So, I'd try to get my transfers in, and they'd still be closed. Then I'd be too busy to remember to check again until it was too close to the race. I could swear they had less than a day where transfers were open for a few of the later races.
No excuses though, not like I would have had the right riders anyway.

Congrats to Freitas on winning both the Mens and Womens Spring Classics games while also currently leading the Superclassico game. I guess that's the overall title sewn up before we've even started the Giro
After a tough start in the Womens Classics game I managed to climb up the table to finish 8th, which I think was actually last out of the people still actually playing by the end. My early tactic of just pick the top 3 valued riders and then fill in the gaps was replaced by picking 6 averagely priced riders which seemed to work out. I lucked out by picking Cavelli at random and then stuck with her for the last few races.
In the men's game I'm happy with my 4th place. I was on the Turner and Sheffield bus before I think everyone jumped on it by the end, so I picked up some big point from them early on, and I had Girmay for his big win. Alaphillipe was a constant let down this year though.

Is it just me or is Freitas not in Romandie?

Next level of sportsmanship
Must say I was really happy with my team yesterday, particularly because of Hayter. Today though, not so sure anymore with both Hayter and Izagirre basically gone considering GC, GC position points and a stage result today. Thinking Velogames, this looks to be a very long race now |

Hi everyone!
Last week was hectic, had some family issues so my head was all over the place and didn’t realize Romandie had started until it was too late (basically already on stage 2!). Sometimes life happens and yours and the other’s wellbeing are more import than trying to stay on top of the leaderboard.
Catching up now with what I’ve lost, big congrats to Banesi for his win in Romandie and to keep the Portuguese dominance alive during my absence. Will set up an alert for the Giro so I don’t miss it, think the selection is easier than last year, only got 3 teams in mind as opposed to the 858385 from 2021. |

Here are the next update from the game.
First of all, the Women season has started with the Spring Classics games and congratulations to FreitasPCM for winning the inaugural game. And also placing 3rd overall, after leading the game with a few races to go. He finishes just under 40 points from the overall win, so scoring an additional 20 bonus points. A great result. Ember and Gargatouf complete the podium. You can see the full Women's leaderboard on the first page.
FreitasPCM continued his march towards the title with another win in the Men's Spring Classic this time, netting his 10th overall win and joining Clamel at the top of the Player Wins ranking. Wyman and roturn climb on the podium of that race.
Finally, in Romandie Banesi took the win, ahead of Clamel and Wyman.
In the Men's Leaderboard, FreitasPCM extended his lead with his win in the Spring Classics game, but after being unable to enter a team for the Romandie game, that lead was cut by Ringo182, who is second, only 12 points behind. Then there is a bit of a gap to Gargatouf and Wyman who are equal on 128 points. There are 5 players within 20 points of each other from 3rd to 7th, so everything is to play for.
The leaderboard has been updated as well. |

Made the mistake of swapping Kamna with Fortunato a few hours before the start. I really need to stop doing this as every time I change a rider once I have submitted my team, it's always a bad substitution.
Ewan needs to start winning a sprint or two as well!
Also, the Itzulia Woman game is up. The deadline is tomorrow 9am in the UK. it's the start of the Woman's Championship game. it would be great to have a few more participants than we had last year. |

Well 2 of my 4 GC contenders made it to the finish in the front group yesterday. My hopes rest on Bardet and Almeida as Yates and Foss have both sunk without trace. Hopefully Almeida and Bardet can get top 5 overall while Yates, Foss, Girmay, Cavendish and Covi can weigh in with a stage win or two.
Still hoping for a top 10 finish at the Giro, but Yates' failure has put a big dent into that.

Congratulations to FreitasPCM for winning the overall Women Itzulia game and therefore topping the table in the PCM.Daily league, ahead of DarkWolf and Gargatouf. A great achievement, which gives FreitasPCM an extra 25 bonus points, which pretty much seals the competition as his lead is almost double to second place.
The women leaderboard has been updated on the first page.
Also, bear in mind that the Criterium Du Dauphine game will be up soon, then followed by Tour de Suisse. |

I was hoping on Bardet to give me an edge on the ones around me, but with him gone, I'm relying on Foss and Fortunato for the last week. |

I think this could be my most cursed race in velogames history. Yates, Girmay, Bardet and now Almeida
At least it's nearly over.

The good news is I finally remembered to enter a Women's race
The bad news is that I just entered a random team with the intention of looking at it properly before the deadline, but then I forgot
Oh well, I assume there will be less than 25 entrants so hopefully I'm guaranteed to get something.

Congratulations to alexkr00 for winning the Giro d'Italia game, ahead of rastaff and Kalach.
A few changes in the overall table. FreitasPCM is still the leader, but Wyman and ember are now on the podium thanks to their good results in the Giro, where double points count.
In the Women game, not surprise, but FreitasPCM takes another win in the RideLondon Classique game, ahead of df_Trek and ember.
In the Women leaderboard, FreitasPCM extends his lead, with ember and Gargatouf still on the podium. |
