Hey guys,
after plenty of years when I had this site on multiple times daily, the time for me things changed for me lately. You've probably recognized that while I've still been active, I've not pulled as many strings as I did in the past. This trend will continue.
You've surely recognized that cunego59 became an Admin lately, and that is for good reason: Not only did he do amazing in recent times as a member, he also took over the lead in our database team. I'll still be there supporting the team in terms of stat making and general things, but I'll not be the driving force behind it anymore. I want to especially thank Löfkvist and Tafiolmo, who were the two guys that rescued the database project with me when there was nobody left and showed remarkable dedication. I'm incredibly grateful that they took on this mammoth project with me. When Löfkvist had less time to offer, it was cunego that took more and more responsibilities and was a great partner in crime in the modernization process of the database team and somehow also the general direction of pcm.daily. Now the database team is on the rise again, with new members doing great and an awesome leader in cunego, so I was very happy to transit more and more responsibilities until now where I'm happy to say that it does not depend on my activity anymore.
I'll stay an active member of Man-Game, ICL and Road to Glory (at least this season), but not in the manner you've seen in the past. Find me in the comment threads surely, but not as a behind-the-scenes protagonist anymore. I might continue the 21 and Done game if enough people want to play, but I'd be happy to transfer the sheets & mechanisms to another person if there would be anybody passionate to admin the mini-game.
So this is not a goodbye, but in the future I'll be more of a peripheral figure on the site. That's not because I don't want to, but my rl focus has/had to shift more and more. I'll focus on my thesis now and probably work afterwards, but more importantly I'll switch to national level in my voluntary work in March, which will probably be as time-consuming as a part-time job. I also spend more and more time into sports as I regularly play competitive Volleyball & Beach volleyball and train 4-5 times a week at this point.
I'll obviously still follow cycling. For a long time I've had the dream of writing some sort of cycling blog or even some sort of cycling podcast/YouTube thing, but never found the time to try that. I hope I can find time to try it in the future, and if I do I'll let you know. The amazing work of Yellow Jersey with Echelons has also inspired me to try stuff like that myself.
One more thing, as I really like this community: I love travelling the world and enjoy meeting new people. That's what also made me meet three people from daily already that I "only" knew as internet mates so far. That was a really cool experience, and I'd also be up to meet some of my daily friends in other places as soon as the pandemic allows that. Don't hesitate to contact me if you're around in northern Germany. If I can make my bigger Europe trip in summer happen I'll let you know either and be happy to meet up on the way.
I'm glad to have been able to get to know you guys on this site, past and present members. I'm still making friends here and have fun, and I'm grateful that this will still continue in the future, even if not as active as in the past.
Cheers guys! |

I'm sure I speak for pretty much everyone on here when I say we're happy to have you in whatever capacity you can reasonably give. Real life comes first. Exciting to hear that you are taking new steps and progressing forward in real life.

So, looks like i'll be spending some time in Belgium this year for work, in Antwerp. If any of the communities Belgians, or close enough Dutch, has advice on how to spend time in the area or any recommendations for places to visit/things to do, i'm very open to hearing ideas.
Equally if anyone at all has experience on living & working abroad i'm open to general advice and suggestions as well
I live in Ghent, only about 45 minutes away from Antwerp. Ghent is a beautiful city to visit if you get the chance! Send me a pm if you want some more information or if you wanna hang out here! |

Thank you for all your hard work, croatia! A shame you're scaling back, but totally understandable. Though training 4-5 times a week? You disgust me!

Also from me a big thanks for all your effort you did put into the site over a long period in the last couple years. Always up there for any kind of support, active in all games, taking over many parts to keep the site running.
Real life is always more important of course and seeing your weekly schedule, absolutely understandable to reduce the daily time here. Hope to see you around for still quite some time here on the site and in the games. |

I perfectly understand, at times it seems there are several things to juggle and that leaves little room for anything else. But I do hope you manage to do everything you like and enjoy. That is the most important thing.
Personally, I would follow with great interest a project of yours involving cycling (blog/podcast/YouTube). Although, and I am not trying yo discourage you, I ran a blog dedicated to SFF literature and art for almost 10 years and I had a blast doing it. But that passion of mine also proved time consuming and occasionally drained my energy. After close to decade it took a step back with everything around me crowding in and eventually I stooped writing it. But it was awesome. It requires a lot of time and attention, but it is rewarding too. I do hope you'd start such a project, because like I said, I would definitely follow it.

Can't say enough to thank you for your time and friendship on and off the site mate.
Any amount of you we get will be a pleasure - looking forward to hearing how your new ventures go

Whelp i'm in Antwerp now for a month. So far so good, place i'm saying could be nicer but it's fine. Settling in, has been a stressfull few days! First time travelling solo (not even with a friend), first time hiring a car, first time driving abroad. Added in the stresses having to immediately get into working at a new location and doing a bit of a different job. Just a lot to process.
Will see how much time/energy i have for exploring. But yeah, Belgium is nice so far.

Only for this month? So you'll just miss the start of the Ronde there on April 3?
But yeah, I dislike driving in Antwerp, should be even trickier when you're used to driving on the other side of the road.
In which part of the city are you staying, if I may ask?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I leave on the 1st, so just perfect to miss the one event i was hoping to be around for (but i can't stay longer, need to go home and take over looking after cats).
Driving has not been too bad so far. Just follow everyone else and i'll at least stay on the correct side.
I'm still learning the correct area names. Brederode/Markgrave

Hehe, that's pretty much the area I visit least. On the Markgravelei, I can recommend Cafe Kamiel or Loncin if you want a more fancy restaurant. Also if it's not too far out, I recommend a visit to the De Koninck brewery.

I'll probably not be here then, so here it is now:
In exactly 1 week, I'll have this account for 10(!) years. True, i've been mia for most of it, probably, but still. Can't believe I came here as a noob following the Ian Bibby Story a decade ago. Those were the days for sure
Here's to another 10 years! |

Hell yes. Back when a Café Pedro lasted only a few months and we battled to be the first to open the new one with a witty title |
