Classics Fantasy Game 2022
Fabianski

Well, Fabianski forgot to send in a team, so he'll be pretty devestated as well with Barguil's first ever classic win Sad

Well, didn't really forget, but there are circumstances in life when you just don't care about online games Wink
It's obviously not great for the game that I missed that deadline, but I'm still happy for Barguil Smile

Let's see how far up VdP can push me. Unfortunate he missed the first part of the classics and then also decided to go to the stage race as training instead plus this unfortunate late entry to MSR.

Along Clarke he is performing now.

Can only hope that Roglic does his usual Ardennes performance and Schachmann is back on the track after his post COVID struggle.

Then the classic season can still run well towards a decent spot.

What a race Ronde Van Vlaanderen was! You guys scored 2x breakaway points, 3x TM1, 1x TM2 2x TM3 and a great 18/20 finish points. The guys you missed were Fred Wright (can't blame you there) and Jan Tratnik (would've been a great pick for this game!). Also every team scored again, give yourselves a pat on the back!

For the rankings that means the Pacifiers hold their gap (even without Wout and Colbrelli), if they don't lose Pogacar, I think they're very close to the title. But there's so much excitement after them, as 4 more teams crossed the 1000 points threshold and they are within 83 points of each other. The Lemmings also move away from the last place.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Block 6 results

GP Indurain was a race of missed opportunities. Both Barguil and Vlasov were not selected by their managers and join the list of team who missed out on a podium (not to self: make a list of that, could be funny). So in the end, it were the Lemmings going home with the big points.

Meanwhile Arnaud De Lie shows he was a great U23 pick for the Hornets, winning another smaller race in Limburg. The Paladins were the only other scorers there.

On to the big race then, Ronde Van Vlaanderen. The 2nd monument of the year saw some massive scoring (260 points more than San Remo). But in the end, the points were didived rather equally, so no real dominant performance as we've seen in earlier races. It's the Lemmings that scored most here, to win the Block as well.

Finaly Scheldeprijs saw a record of breakaway points awarded and the Paladins had 3 of their riders in there, including the winner Kristoff.

Time for the rankings then. Despite injuries of van Aert and Colbrelli, the Pacifiers did what they had to do and defend their lead. They still have a 400 point gap and there's even some reports van Aert could ride in Roubaix. Things are still looking great for them!

The Paladins had a good round and move to 2nd place. The Bombers and the Beagles are tied for 3rd, just ahead of the Hornets, who once again are the only team to score in all the races. The Hussars had a good Ronde, but didn't score anywhere else and are slowly losing touch with the others.

Behind them the Roughnecks fail to get another good round in and are almost overtaken by the Bananas. Still quite a gap to the Lemmings, but with Mathieu unleashed, they can't feel very safe. The Fainthearts have dropped to the last place, they're scoring rather consistent, but they're not getting any top results yet.

Its not that bad, giving a third of my team is injured...

roturn
With Schachmann now missing out on the Ardennes my team is doomed. Pfft

Roglic might show up in Liege or Fleche I guess to add some points.

VdP did great in block 6 but the gap was already too big.
Politt also not really doing what I had hoped from him expect for that one break/fight performance.

Next block
Mathieu van der Poel
Nils Politt
Arne Marit
Baptiste Planckaert
Andrea Pasqualon
John Degenkolb
Davide Ballerini
Simon Clarke

Might change it slightly later on as Clarke is not yet listed for AGR while I would have Reynders with 2 and Warlop with 3 races in that block. Though not wanting to miss out on a late startlist addition again as I did with MSR...as Clarke clearly has potential for a top3-10 in Amstel and Israel really should add him there.

12/04/2022 Paris - Camenbert CT2
13/04/2022 Brabantse Pijl CT1
17/04/2022 Paris - Roubaix M

Yes, I was running out of inspriration for names. We're 3/4 finished with the game, but half of the monuments are still there so lots of points for grabs. Amstel Gold Race and Roubaix switched places on the calendar so it's a bit unusual.

Startlists are looking good so far, even Roubaix looks good so far ahead. I will be needing your 8 riders by sunday noon normal europe time.

Missing a name I think.

Also, if you look at what happened with Declercq or Colbrelli, I hope they give Wout enough rest.

Yeah, other riders are in Turkey or shouldn't come to Belgium for the Brabantse Pijl, so went for the six confirmed riders and WVA. I trust the Jumbo team and Wout to make the right decision, and if I miss out on some points because he needs to recover, I won't be sending them an angry mail Pfft

Anyway, good Amstel results see the Bombers and the Hornets hop onto the podium.

Really disappointed with Teuns, he was so close to joining the 2 leaders but fell back and finished 10th. Also De Plus would have been a better option it seems, some valuable assist points lost there.
