Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Voted E3. Usually the winner of E3 is very close in the Ronde as well. I definitely like Gent-Wevelgem as well with some spectacular racing in some of the last editions, but with no wind it might turn out to be a bit more 'boring' this year.

Agreed, but I just made the poll to get some race discussion going this afternoon Pfft

I'm interested to see how the 'comeback' guys are doing. First real test again for Campenaerts since he fell in Strade, hope he continues his good results on the cobbles.

Vanmarcke with his first race in more than a month. Just saw how easily he followed Boonen/Cancellara back in the day, but I doubt he'll be able to follow the big guns today.

In theory TotalEnergies could have one of the better teams here with Sagan, Turgis, in form Van Gestel and (very) maybe a strong Terpstra. Also didn't expect a team like Bardiani at the start Pfft

I'm always cheering for Vanmarcke, as one of the purest cobblers there is. But each year (or probably a few times each year) he gets hit with illness, or a crash, or a series of punctures at the wrong time. His bad luck is just insane, but I still hope he can win a big classic somehow.

He also gave an interesting interview last year, where he explained he wouldn't be a professional if he was born 10 years later. His watts data are pretty average so he wouldn't stand out from other riders, but unlike other riders, his values drop less after riding for 6 hours.

I'd love to see him win something, but obviously not getting easier for him. Would also be nice to have him with better teammates. Just read Jumbo is down one man after a Van Der Sande crash as well.

Waiting for UnoX to do well. First race day of the season for Niklas Larsen, he could be a very important guy for Rasmus Tiller if he's in form yet. But with Resell, Hansen and Skaarseth they have a good team anyways.

I suppose it's all a matter of preference, but E3 is more selective usually, so I'm always gonna pick E3.

There's only one answer, and it's the one of the two that also has a Womens version (GW for those that don't know the Womens calendar by heart Pfft)

It's of course GP Vipava Valley & Crossborder Goriška. But still, those other classics are also pretty cool Cool just no such good rider as Fran Miholjevic starting...

That's not true, E3 for women is on April 30 (Leiedal Koerse).

Actually here, go practice your Dutch Pfft

Leiedal Koerse/Curonian/Omloop Leiedal is an already established criterium, which has held it's own Womens criterium on the same day previously. I'd seen it had become part of the 1.2 calendar but missed the relationship with E3 because it's kept the old name and history.
Move the date forward to actually partner with E3, and invest to get it WWT status. Then i'll agree there's a proper Womens E3 race. This is half-hearted and feels a little like a "Hey look we're totally not sexist. If you come back a week later. With an unrelated name. A some different sponsors. Ok maybe we don't actually want to make the investment but don't want to admit it so here's a cheap way out".

Yes i'm quite harsh, because even ASO seems to have got on the right curve (although the wrong cobbles, it's not a Roubaix without Arenburg), and Flanders Classics are doing a strong and clear job. E3 has some work to do still.

Also still not fogetting the 2019 Poster. Or the 2015 Poster. So yeah, do more than partner with an existing event on a different week.

Haha, that turned into a rant!

So the Taaienberg kind of opens the race for the favourites.

Wout Van Aert himself powering up the hill which should lead to some serious selection.

Mohoric, Stuyven, Kung, Asgreen seem to be the riders, who immediately followed that move alongside 3 Jumbo in total.

Weak Roglic, couldn’t follow the other two!

I'd say Gent-Wevelgem. E3 is a bit too much just a light edition of Ronde. But we will off'c follow all of them Smile.

Can't believe Van Aert took the win.

LOL surprise, surprise

That’s because he’s gonna gift Laporte the win in either RvV or Roubaix. Then we will have the reemergence of trekbmc on PCMDaily.

Roubaix. Wout will take RvV for himself. They decide the winner based on which country the race is in Pfft

I think it makes sense for Van Aert to take the win. If Van Aert had previously won the race he would have let Laporte win this one, but I guess it's quite an important win for a Belgian rider especially in the nation champion shirt.

Well at the moment Jumbo is opening up stores all over Flanders. Not letting Wout win this was never an option.
