Congrats to both of you, well played :Banana

Fabianski
Well, having an aversion against dominant Slovenians definitely hurts in this game, but at least in P-N I guess I did pretty well without Rog.

Congrats to the winners, and thanks for setting up the league! Still have to get some strategy being new to this - especially didn't realize there were no points for the white jersey. But it's fun anyway Smile

So not only does he leave Omloop and Kuurne out, he also chooses Milano-Torino over Nokere Koerse. This offense will not be forgotten.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

It's made even more difficult based on the fact we are less than 24 hours away from the deadline and still only have about half a field of confirmed riders.

Pretty happy with 5th at Paris-Nice, could have been even better had Girmay not had that unfortunate stage 2. Now hopefully I can bounce back in the superclasico after a horrific Strade. I'm very much on the same page as Fabianski - strategy isn't great yet, but it's a lot of fun!

The Nokere Koerse startlist actually looks more compelling than Milano-Torino. I presume George selected the Italian race due to its recent history and what was an apparent warm-up to MSR, but it just looks like a lackluster field. Many teams not even bringing their best sprinters.

Ollfardh
But Milano-Torino isn't a sprinters race afaik? With the exception of Démare, there's not a single sprinter winner in recent history. And even in that case, there might have been a car door handle involved

I know they moved the race a few times now, but I really don't like the current spot on the calendar.

It is this year. They moved to March again in attempt to attract the sprinters participating in San Remo, but guess they weren’t lucky. I don’t like this spot in the calendar at all, the finish at the top of Superga was always interesting to watch and a good warm-up for Lombardia. Pfft

Profile looks very flat this year. Not sure if it's the same course as usual. I guess a flat one day race doesn't follow the same format as a flat stage. It would be a nailed on sprint stage in the middle of a stage race.

The Spring Classics game is up starting with MSR. Remember to change your teams in the Superclasico game as well.

I tested positive for COVID and feeling rubbish, so results for the first two games will be delayed a bit.

Thanks Frietas, and congrats at TA. Looking at the two teams in the middle of the week I thought my TA team was the one that stood the most chance of winning with my PN team falling back when the final GC points were awarded. The Roglic/WVA gamble paid off and McNulty scored enough points with stage placings to make up for him losing out in the GC race

So I've achieved one of my season aims already, guess now I'll have to aim for two wins. This wasu first win in a men's race. Guess my increase viewing of cycling has paid off, although I still end up picking 2 or 3 random 4 point riders, with no real idea of why, in every race.

Belated congratulations on the win Ringo!!!

First win of my young velogames career! With the exception of SKA's no show, that E3 lineup was pretty perfect. Love the game in general, makes the races even more exciting to follow when you root for you riders Grin

It can also make watching races less fun when all your riders go out the back on the first climb or crash out in the first week

Congrats on your first win Cunego Banana

Hi everyone, apologies for the delay, COVID absolutely KO'd me. I felt OK, just unbelievably tired!!!

So after much delay, I am please to announce the first winners of the competition.

In Paris-Nice, congratulations to Ringo182 for winning the race ahead of Gargatouf (sorry to speak about myself like this, I thought it would be easier to view and highlight) and Wyman.

In Tirreno, congratulations to FreitasPCM who continues his strong form from last year. He wins ahead of Ringo182 and ember. He also takes 5 bonus points for being 51st overall.

So in the first overall table, Ringo182 is the first leader ahead of FreitasPCM and Gargatouf.

I will do the Catalunya results at some point over the weekend.

Also, please don't forget that the Itzulia game will appear soon as the race starts on Monday.

Here are the results for the next two games, Catalunya and Itzulia.

In Catalunya, FreitasPCM takes the wins, ahead of Tamijo and alexkr00. FreitasPCM also takes 5 bonus points for being in the top 100.

In Itzulia, roturn takes the win ahead of JuanK and FreitasPCM.

In the GC, thanks to his win and podium in the last two races, FreitasPCM takes the lead and is already creating a bit of a gap. He carries on his form for last year and he already looks the man to beat. Ringo182 is second, while there are three competitors behind, all within 1 point: Gargatouf and JuanK on 72 points while df_Trek is on 71 points.

The details have been updated on the first page.

FreitasPCM
Thanks again for the updates, gargatouf.

Gambled everything on the Spring Classics - but I completely overlooked Dylan Teuns who was on my list a few rounds back, let’s see how everything ends up in Liege now that almost everyone has no transfers left. Pfft

ringo182
Hopefully most teams will use the same riders for both the last two races.

Hi guys,
I'm ready to get back in this fabolous league.
Read the sad news on you Gargatouf, but glad you got out of it. Could be a nasty thing, so hope you are on good way to recover 100%.

I got a lot to catch up I see, but better late than never.
Best of luck to you all in the Tour races coming up, Romandiet and Giro.

A bit sad to see the small numbers in upcoming Romandiet. Looks like the glory years are over, but hoping we could get the League back as it once was.
It was almost impossible to get a win then with players like Emre and IanRussell. The two legends. Cool

Big congrat to the winners so far in this years league. Well done guys Banana
