First thought was Jussi Veikkanen because he looks kinda nordish, but then he would certainly have, if not the NC jersey, at least the ribbons on his sleeves. So maybe Hoelgaard?

Was Hoelgaard ever at La Vuelta? Thought about Ludvigsson but same logic denies that.

Judging by the Orica-Scott jersey, this is too late to be an older guy like Veikkanen anyway.
I'll go with Konovalovas. He probably won his first NC before this, but maybe not.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

Sperling of Nordics, it could be Odd Christian Eiking, though he looks a bit too old (but maybe it's just the third week).

Thought so as well but too blond for Eiking I think. Did Jerome Coppel ride for FDJ once?

Many guesses but all after the first were in vain because Hoelgaard is correct. Markus' brother retired in the off-season and this 2017 Vuelta was his and Contador's last ever GT. |
