I think O'Loughlin will need a month's holiday after all that pulling this week !
Bennett and Glanbia messed up the train again. If only these stages were 2km shorter!
Well done to Marin and thanks for report. On to the good staff!

I guess I can feel a tiny bit of pride in seeing Marin get a stage win, since I helped to max him out last year

Tough stage for us yesterday. Having a stage favourite end up 15th and Munoz also losing time. Happy for Gjensidige though
Nice to see Volcanica take a stage win as well, congratulations! Thanks for the great reports again, lief.

Cannister in polka dots!
Did not peg Cannister as a guy for the mountains, but he surprised me here, and now he, like Vabo, gets a day in a jersey. I'm very pleased to have the young guns going in breaks and making things happen every day. It's a shame none of the breaks have worked out yet, but the activity is enough to satisfy me.
Also, Ranneries in second! If he had held on a little longer he could have won. Nice to see from him.

Well that is two bads to even out the two goods. I get a guy not sprinting when he is the 10th favorite but Keough is one of the top 3 in the race and wearing green. Shouldn't he at least try more than 2 out of 4 stages? It appears that Rathe, the third best sprinter on our team, was the designated sprinter.
That said before the race I would have taken a first and a second. Now we get back to the main event hopefully Kuss doesn't decide to sit things out.
Congrats to Volcanica and thanks for the report.

Wow, agonizing close by Ranneries. Certainly not expected and very happy with 2nd
Great stage again by Volcanica, very impressive win! |

I guess that means Olesen isn't actually in absolutely horrendous form. Still not great in the end. Hopefully he does something in the breaks now.

Ouch. Los Pollos not on the best form since Hong Kong started. But seeing Munoz so far behind in GC might offer him a chance to attack and go for a stage/KOM-points. Thanks for the report

That wasn't too bad given Kuss' weak TT skills, although it highlights how much he can lose on the final TT.
But now we are on Sepp territory, nice big, long climbs. All the guys ahead of him are weaker in the mountains although not by that much. Salinas worries me the most because is the best of them, has the biggest advantage and has the jersey. Ideally Volcanica uses up Brenes with a high pace burning off the other guys and Kuss' toughness lets him stay with Amador, who has not been great so far.
Or he channels Keough and decides to take a rest.
Congrats to Sauber on the stage win.

So far, so good from Barta, but he has to hang on in the final four stages.
Again, nice report

Thanks for the report. Oof, not really liking where this is heading, incredibly weak stage from Diaz, obviously Potocki is doing well here but was really hoping to be leading team GC by now.

Bad day for Dan Martin but still within a minute of 3rd place going into 3 hard mountain days.
Top 10 maybe more likely than top 5 or 3 now .

Thank you, guys, for the earlier congratz!
Not a great TT, but not a totally disaster either. However, I am afraid our time loss on stage 4 might cost Amador dearly. I hope he can find his legs and shorten the time gap in the next stage. On a more positive note, Jesus Herrada was a very pleasant surprise in the TT.
Thank you for the report again! And congrats to Sauber on the stage win! |

Happy to see Olesen in the break, but obviously not up to the standard needed to hold on. Hopefully he tries again, maybe with a teammate or two for the early parts of the stage.

77 mountain, decent back ups and still dropping that fast and finishing 66th in quite a weak field. Don't know what Munoz' problem is, but this is terrible.
The report was once again terrific though, with another great win for our friends from Gjensidige, congratulations!
