Two losses yesterday, so the objective for the team is clear. We need to stop losing. Two more friendlies to achieve that, with a match in Belgium first. Cercle Brugge, former team of goalie Maes, challenged us for a game. We gladly accepted, and obviously put our number 13 in goal for this one. This was also the debut for Washington, Wall and Vertongen.



Cercle started as the more attacking team, but I'm glad to announce that, for the first time in the team's history, we did not concede in the first fifteen minutes. Cercle did hit the post once, but who cares.

We were trying hard to find an opening, and were able to do so around the thirtieth minute. An interception by Macduff started a counter attack, and after debut player Wall ran into the right corner of the pitch and passed back to right back Brajkovic, the latter found Ottaviani inside the box. Both Cercle and us with Garner had a big chance before half time, but the goalies were doing their job and we were going into the locker room with a 0-1 lead, or at least that's what we thought. Sanchez was getting a bit too arrogant and instead of kicking the ball as far as he could to finish the first half, he lost possession, and five seconds later Maes was beaten: 1-1 at halftime.

Ottaviani came close to a second goal just after half time, but the keeper denied him with a magnificent save. We were then very lucky in minute 62, as a blatant penalty foul by Macduff was not punished by the referee. We were getting more and more in trouble actually, which resulted into another first in minute 73. A dirty tackle by substitute Bobson was rightfully rewarded with our first yellow card.

The last fifteen minutes were all for Cercle, who tried to break our wall with several shots from distance. Maes was not ready to be broken though, which saw the game end in 1-1, Daily Destroyers did not lose!
