I'm with stupid 2021 - Game 7, Round 5 Results
The final round has ended, let's see who will grab the win in this game
1. Outside the Great Pyramids of Giza, name one of the remaining 6 wonders of the aincent world
It was a really contested between the Colossus of Rhodes and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but in the end the Colossus came out victorious 5:4. Other answers included the Lighthouse of Alexandria, Statue of Zeus of Olympia, the Parthenon* and the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus* each giving 1 point
Spoiler Colossus of Rhodes - 5
Hanging Gardens of Babylon -
Lighthouse of Alexandria - 1
Statue of Zeus of Olympia - 1
Parthenon - 1
Great Wall of China - 1
2. Name a natural landmark (i.e. not man-made)
Natural landmarks are common place, but one got the most guesses - the Grand Canyon with 4. Another place in the US - thie Niagara Falls, got 2 points while other natural landmarks - like Uluru and the Grat Barrier Reef in Australia, Mount Everest, Giant's Causeway, the Rocky Mountains and even all the volcaneos (yes, we've got an answer that was just volcano in general), get one point
Spoiler Grand Canyon - 4
Niagara Falls - 2
Mt. Everest - 1
Volcano (example - Mt. Vesuvius) - 1
Rocky Mountains - 1
Uluru - 1
Great Barrier Reef - 1
Alpe d'Huez - 1
Giant's Causeway - 1
3. Name a famous landmark in Europe
Europe has many famous landmark, but one was the most popular - with 10 votes it's the Eiffel Tower. The Alps^ get 2 points while a single point goes to whoever said Dubrovnik City Walls
Spoiler Eiffel Tower - 10
Alps - 2
Dubrovnik City Walls - 1
4. Name a famous skyscraperc
Skyscrapers are well known, but the most popular answers were the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (the tallest structure in the world) and New York's iconic Empire State Building. In the end Burj Khalifa stood tall 7:5. Another tall structure in Dubai - the sail shaped Burj Al Arab hotel, sadly only gives one point
Spoiler Burj Khalifa - 7
Empire State Building - 5
Burj Al Arab - 1
5. Name a country, which has a UNESCO World Heritage site
And the final question of the final round of the 7th game puts to the test the contestants' knowledge on UNESCO World Heritage Sites - or to be specific, countries that have one of these. Italy got the W in a "tug of war" with the United States 5:4. China got 2 guesses while Spain and the Vatican City only got 1 guess each.
Spoiler Italy - 5
USA - 4
China - 2
Spain - 1
Vatican City - 1
And here are the results for this round:
Contestant | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | Total | cunego59 | Colossus of Rhodes | Grand Canyon | Eiffel Tower | Empire state building | Italy | 31 | kandesbunzler26 | Lighthouse of Alexandria | Grand Canyon | Eiffel Tower | Empire state building | Italy | 27 | Marcovdw | Hanging Gardens of Babylon | Uluru | Eiffel Tower | Empire state building | Italy | 27 | jseadog1 | Statue of Zeus of Olympia | Grand Canyon | Eiffel Tower | Empire state building | Italy | 27 | jandal7 | Hanging Gardens of Babylon | Mt. Before we declare the winner in IWS Game 7, I'd like to point out two things:
* - Nemolito didn't give relevant answers and since he was even cheeky enough to declare myself as an "aincent wonder" (haha, nice try ) I've decided to give him the Parthenon
^ - dr_trek gave the Dolomites as an answer in the third question, but since we've got the Alps as a whole as an answer, I've decided to combine both answers since the Dolomites are part of the Alps
And the winner in this round is cunego59, but will it be enough to take the overall win? Let's find out:
cunego59 | 20 | 26 | 25 | 47 | 31 | 149 | kandesbunzler26 | 15 | 23 | 36 | 47 | 27 | 148 | jandal7 | 13 | 22 | 42 | 42 | 24 | 143 | roturn | 24 | 21 | 36 | 38 | 19 | 138 | df_Trek | 13 | 19 | 36 | 47 | 21 | 136 | AbhishekLFC | 22 | 22 | 36 | 34 | 21 | 135 | FreitasPCM | 15 | 20 | 40 | 38 | 24 | 137 | Marcovdw | 20 | 20 | 31 | 36 | 27 | 134 | TheManxMissile | 13 | 21 | 39 | 24 | 22 | 119 | baseballlover312 | 15 | 21 | 32 | 27 | 24 | 119 | DarkWolf | 8 | 20 | 22 | 36 | 23 | 109 | jseadog1 | 8 | 9 | 33 | 30 | 27 | 107 | Nemolito | 0 | 0 | 31 | 26 | 9 | 66 | Bikex | 0 | 0 | 0 | 43 | 0 | 43 | knockout | 0 | 0 | 0 | 8 | 0 | 8 |
And ye, it is enough - by a single point cunego59 reclaims the IWS crown and will be again hosting the next game. Kandesbunzler26 was leading before this round and it was a shame that he lost in such heartbreaking fashion. Unforunately roturn's poor final round caused him to miss the podium entirely with jandal7 getting the final step.
Congrats to all participants - see you in Game 8.

From Cunego's opening Thread Post with the rules: "It is entirely permitted to submit wrong answers if you think you actually are with stupid "
I picked Great Wall purposfully, as a plan to spoil a 5-pointer i thought was coming.
You are required to restore my actual answer.
_____
Apart from that small but incredibly important point, very much enjoyed those rounds and a nice variety of questions that were quite different to the usual.

Victory! Glad I could overcome that poor third round. Almost a perfect round to finish it off, it was a 50:50 with the Burj Khalifa, but luckily that didn't matter in the big picture. I agree with TMM, very nice round with interesting questions. I'll try my best to follow that up, expect the next round to start at some point towards the end of the week

The questions were indeed very nice as it were open rounds with some questions that easily could go into several equal directions.
The Alps failed me here...I expected it to be a Natural Landmark really after the "more" obvious Grand Canyon in the question before. But apparently the Eiffel Tower is just too popular and beats everything when it comes to Europe. |

The rounds 1 and 3 killed me. But that's what happens when going for an answer closer to the heart, as seen in the last round when I went for Spain (heart) instead of United States (which I thought would bring more points). But there is nothing to regret.
Awesome questions indeed. I loved them quite a lot. |

Yes, we're still here. ManGame transfers and a lot of IRL stuff delayed this, but finally, here are the results from R1 as well as the questions for R2.
I'm with stupid 2021 - Game 8, Round 1
As is often the case, a few nice and balanced answers and a few very clear ones.
1. Name a bone.
Two answers stick out. Possibly because so many of them break in cycling races, the Collarbone took the crown with 7 mentions. The longest bone in the body, the femur, was named 5 times, while the spine was mentioned twice - no 1 point answers here.
2. Name a muscle.
This was one of the two top answers of the round: 10 points to the biceps. One each for Quadriceps, Hamstring, Calf and Sartorius. Interestingly, none for the biggest muscle of them all, the Gluteus Maximus.
3. Name an organ.
This one I probably should have seen coming. Another 10 points for the Heart. 2 points for the brain, 1 each for Lung and Liver.
4. Name a type of doctor.
This was the most varied. 6 points to the top answer, which was the surgeon. 3 for the cardiologist, then lots of one pointers: Otolaryngologist (I had to google that tbh, it's the guy for ear, nose, and throat), Pediatrician and Dentist, plus two slightly more specific answers. First, not surprising for this forum, the Doping doctor. And then, the goodest of doctors: Fake Doctors, Real Friends. Which leads us nicely to Q5:
5. Name a TV show centered around doctors/a hospital.
The one true answer for this of course being Scrubs. Y'all disappointed me a little here, but 4 people mentioned it, which is something. 4 people went with Grey's Anatomy, too, which leaves House as the top answer with 6. No other show was mentioned, which possibly makes this the question with the highest lowest score in the history of the game (hope you understand what I mean, also I haven't checked this).
Standings
We have one perfect round and that goes to ivaneurope with 39 points. roturn, SportingNonsense and kandesbunzler26 only missed the TV show question, leaving all of them 2 points short.
On the other end of the spectrum, those who missed either the Biceps or the Heart suffered the most, with Marcovdw and Nemolito at the bottom after missing both.
I'm with stupid 2021: Game 8, Round 2
Arts and Crafts
1. Name a piece of furniture.
2. Name a craft other than carpentry.
3. Name a building famous for its architecture.
4. Name a famous artist.
5. Name a type of artwork that you would not (or rarely) find in a museum.
PM me your answers until Monday, September 27th, 8pm daily time. I'll try to stay on schedule this time, but no promises

Damn, surgeon
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

I've said it before on this forum, but "Fake Doctors, Real Friends" is an incredible podcast that y'all need to check out even if you don't like Scrubs (and let's be honest, who doesn't like Scrubs, it's the best medical show in history (except maybe M*A*S*H))
Well worth dropping points to make sure it's gets good recognition!
