Some big names for sale that might sadly be out of my range. I might have a chat with you in transfers though just in case

Croatia - He might fit better in the PT anyway. We'll definitely talk!
Fabianski - They're not all going, but I think at least one of the big names is leaving yes. I'm always listening to offers, but seeing how he's developing, I think my Austrian is staying.
Cio - We'll see how it goes, saying goodbye to a rider I trained from 1.00 to superstar will be hard.
Quad - Young riders with low wage and good potential are always worth keeping.
Sammy - Looking forward to it!
the hoyle - There's always smaller names that could go as well
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I said the same before you offered me Moscon
That obviously won't happen (never say never though ^^), but maybe I'll come up with another irresistible deal

Trying to tempt me into selling Kemboi by putting Gaviria on the market I see?
Will definitely be in touch, knowing that Senni may be available as well. |

Transfer overview
Going out
Fernando Gaviria. I'm sad. He was like a child to me. A slightly disappointing child that always wanted more money, but still a child. He showed glimpses of his greatness last season by winning 2 stages, 2 GC's and 3 point jerseys, but we could no longer afford him. He's going to the best of the best, Isostar. He will be better of in the Pro Tour with more races that suit him and their manager will set up a great program for him so he can finaly reach his full potential. Good luck Fernando!
Oh, and Kristoffer Skjerping. He was traded for Waeytens so we had no expectations for him. He pretty much lived up to those expectations. So we traded him for a young Soviet from on of them countries.
Traded in
Initially Domen Novak was completely off limits for his manager, but when I started waiving my juicy Gaviria in his face, he had to give in. After long and tough negotiations, we reached a deal that was acceptable for both managers. So we gained a young Slovenian climber and some cash, which is by far the best deal we got. Novak will be a great help for Oomen, but will also get plenty of chances for himself.
Repeat after me: Dilmurdjon Siddikov. Perhaps I should also start giving nicknames to my riders, because there's no way I'm going to remember that. But he's a young time trialist with a bit of cobble potential, so pretty much the missing piece in our team's puzzle.
Free agents
While we missed out on our three top goals, we did get number 4, 5 and 6. Obviously there's some disappointment there, but still, no real filler rider this year. Giovanni Aleotti is a 22 year old Italian puncheur with great potential. He also has some time trial skill we'll probably ignore. Our goal with him is to get his wage down while making him a good domestique.
Maxim Van Gils is a Belgian climber with a good finish. Not sure which way we're going to train him yet, but no one can deny his great potential.
Finaly Viktor Potocki is a Croatian time trialist with a huge potential. We will just slowly develop him into a better time trialist.
Conclusion
We did some great transfers, but just fell short of signing a few free agents we really wanted. Still, with Remco Evenepoel coming in next year, it might be a good idea to safe some cash. Negotiating the Gaviria deals was really fun too, so we call this transfer period a success!!

Congrats on Aleotti! Obviously wanted him (and Bagioli, and Vermeersch ^^), but obviously all talents bar Schmid eventually went out of reach for a newly promoted PCT team in lack of leaders
It feels somewhat strange to see Gaviria leave, indeed, but I'm quite sure Novak can fulfill your expectations. And with Oomen as a stage race leader, you definitely won't be anywhere close to the relegation zone.
PS: Maybe we'll talk about a re-swap Gamper <-> Moscon once Schmid is ready to take over from Gianni

Yes! 100% give your riders random nicknames, i fully support that idea. Will be interesting to see how this team goes in a post-Gaviria period, best of luck you stay PCT so can at least be in the fight for Evenepoel (along with every single other PT & PCT Team )

It's a shame to see Gaviria leave the team, but it's good to see you stay with your focus by signing young riders. Potocki has some great training options with his 7 potential. |

Yes, I'm glad Potocki was added as pot 7 like I suggested, but I couldn't afford him in the end I'm not sure just time-trialing is where I'd go with him, but he's a fun rider to play around with all the different stat gains

Fabianski - I really came close to Vermeersch and Bagioli though, so I'm still a bit disappointed. I'm sure you can keep Moscon though, De Plus is getting some training
TMM - I guess I'll have to push for a nationality bonus or something in the changes thread. Like +50% offer if the rider is of your home country!
Bikex - I'm really surprised Potocki went uncontested. Sure, he's stats are on the low side, but that 7 potential should make up for that.
red -Well I haven't decided the how yet, but it seems time trials is the way to train him.

Many tears were shed due to unlawful unprisonment of Mr. Gamper. Mission failed, we'll get em next time

Yeah, I'm sure he'll become easier to buy once he's maxed out
And "unlawful imprisonment" sounds very hard. He just had a very long meeting with our Italian associates.

Gaviria winning the Benelux Challenge was definitely one of my favourite moments as a reporter last season, so it's sad to see him leave the other Belgian PCT team. Nevertheless, the training money and other riders that came in his place are very interesting as well. Looking forward to racing against you this year!

Thanks! Gaviria's new average meant he was really getting payed too much for the points he scores. I could've kept him, but it would've been a long term problem so I'm happy with the deal I got. Looking forward to race you as well, only a bit unfortunate Vanbilsen won't meet his old nemesis Baugnies then.

Roster and jerseys!
Let's just do it, here is our 2021 final roster!
Name | Age | Role | Giovanni Aleotti | 22 | Puncheur | Jenthe Biermans | 26 | Baroudeur | Niccolo Bonifazio | 28 | Sprinter | Alessandro Covi | 23 | Puncheur | Laurens De Plus | 26 | Puncheur | Alessandro Fedeli | 25 | Puncheur | Patrick Gamper | 24 | Cobbler | Jakub Mareczko | 27 | Sprinter | Domen Novak | 26 | Climber | Sam Oomen | 26 | Stage Racer | Viktor Potocki | 22 | Time Trials | Szymon Sajnok | 24 | Time Trials | Manuel Senni | 29 | Stage Racer | Dilmurdjon Siddikov | 24 | Time Trials | Wout Van Aert | 27 | Cyclocross | Maxim Van Gils | 22 | Climber | Kenneth Vanbilsen | 31 | Cobbler | Louis Verhelst | 31 | Cobbler | Aaron Verwilst | 24 | Domestique | Sasha Weemaes | 23 | Domestique |
Our average age is down to 25 again, which is always nice. Our sponsors will be happy as well, with 8 Belgian and 6 Italian riders. Furthermore, I don't think relegation will be a problem with this team.
What needs to happen this season?
- Sam Oomen needs to continue being awesome. He's taking care of 3 of our 4 race goals and probably the ranking goal as well.
- Bonifazio needs to start scoring to fill the gap Gaviria left.
- Vanbilsen needs to be competitive all year long in a very tough cobbled field
- De Plus needs to improve over last year in the classics.
- Senni and Novak should seize every leadership opportunity they get
- Back up scoring from Mareczko, Gamper and Sajnok
- Breakaways from everyone else!
On to the jerseys then, credits go to crazy billionaire Oleg Tinkov, who apparently does some knitting in his spare time!

Bonifazio and Siddikov will feel honoured, with their name displayed like that on their national champion kits

Yeah, I don't want to turn Bonifazio into the next Waeytens, so positive vibes only!

The best race ever!
After a tough start of the season, things finaly turned around in the spring. It started in Portugal, where Patrick Gamber surprised everyone with a big win. Laurens De Plus also took 3rd for us.
Perhaps even more surprising was the sprinting of Niccolo Bonifazio. That's right, he was sprinting. And actually winning! Stage wins in Barbados and Mexico gave us quite some points.
But our best race was the Vuelta al Pais Vasco. Great team work led to a double GC win for Oomen and Novak. A huge climb in the standings followed and we're suddenly looking at promotion. We're horribly confused and don't know what to do now.

Oh, I feel you Pais Vasco was really great for you, but it's also cool to see Bonifazio succeeding a little after being a letdown so often!

Pais Vasco was something else indeed. One of the best scoring races in HC I've seen, maybe the best. Hope Spilak doesn't meet the Oomen/Novak duo too much, because I would also still like to score some points
