Just catching the most recent announcments - sorry to see this come to an end. Great effort throughout by IB - lots of quality content which reflect what must have been a serious time commitment to maintain quality and quantity across the seasons. Hope you are able to put the time frred up to good use!
Cheers!
Definitely. I've got many projects ongoing and lined up. Have been writing a lot last few weeks. Doing poetry, drawing, writing prose, reading, writing music... A lot of stuff going on |

Wow. As I said I'll wrap it up better in and out of character but thanks to Ian for that finale, and already Shonak has a beaut of a piece. Was wondering whether you'd go down the path of giving hints of their futures, not a huge fan of it but liked the Olympics piece. Personally I won't use that in the game thread though. Milan, Mark, Louis and Lachy st least will have their closure. Thanks to everyone

I'm speechless, I only found out this ended because of Ian's signature and I just realised that it had happened... 2 entire weeks ago.
Maybe not literally, but this brought a tear to my eye. I still vividly remember the golden age of this. Spent the last hour and a half to give a deep read to the last few posts. And I don't even know what to say. It's kind of beautiful to see this end in this way, the way it - almost - deserves instead of being left abandoned out of nowhere.
Thanks for this 1 year and a half of poetry to everyone involved.

Loking forward to it. Well I wanted to hint somewhat towards the future, not too much but some nice things
And, indeed. What a piece by Shonak!

Thanks to you, too. Mazzarelli is a very lively character and I've enjoyed it very much. Great final piece by him, not everyone getting that happy ending. And he at least stayed true to his roots by finishing 4th a lot on the road
Thanks for being part of this a long way of the journey! |

Fantastic farewell post matt, very nice.
I didn't know Matt was paid so little by Mapei, maybe he should have followed by the rumours of BKCP transfer I hinted at in second(?) season

Can't believe it's over and that i missed it!!!!
This is most definately not the last you'll hear of Goldie, Radio, TDF and Rock. (And you'll never stop hearing about Hammalings!) They'll be back in some format i can guarantee it.
_______________
All i can say is, thank-you Ian and thank-you every one who took part for something truly incredible.
______________
And i finally figured out exactly what trying to beat Vague looks and feels like

Spent the evening re-reading this thread and some race reports. Man those were the days, what a game that was! Really loved the action-packed races, the drama of it all, the interactions with other riders and the little drama clubs, the high-quality of writing, the whole cycling feel and extra CX taste, those small storylines within the greater narrative... And the best, you can always go back and re-read it, beautiful. Really loved it, Ian - you really created a marble that I will always remember very fondly, cheers mate! And the community was really awesome, too, all along the way - had so much fun reading character posts and the banter in this thread, from J7, trek, TMM, matt, smowz, sn, sammy, selwink, burger.. good times, thank you guys! Still waiting for Milan's farewell post

Haha I read through S2 and 3 a couple of months ago and thought the same thing, I delayed it for so long it became awkward to do. Shame it never happened
And I just have to echo all you said, my favourite experience on daily, Ian created such an amazing world of racing and drama and all the players filled it in, loved every minute of it, and miss it very much sometimes on here. I still remember forgetting to breathe during Milan's first win, the excitement of Fuji 2014-15 when Lachy won something, and my heart racing reading S1 and S3 world championship reports especially! No doubt it made me a much better writer (and a better daily member) and character creator, I don't like my writing lots in any of it but at the start I was truly awful! Thanks everyone who played and especially Ian, was a very awesome world to be a part of creating.
I'd like to think Milan has at least won a Coke trophy by now and can be giving Vague even a slight challenge week to week

Just dropping in to point out that clearly Formula E are fans of Daily after stealing my idea to race inside the Excel Center in London
Also we need to make sure our newer members are aware of the greatness that was CX:AND

Would y'all believe me if I told you that I wrote a draft of about half of Milan's final post a few weeks ago?
And yeah, pure greatness here. Somewhat proud of my contribution but I do cringe at most of it! Wish this would have happened nowadays when I'm a much better (still not amazing) writer and almost surely a much better roleplayer, but will always enjoy the memories and reading the amazing world Ian created and so many people helped colour in GOAT daily game still for me.

I loved it. And would be nice to have a similar game like CX AND running again. @TMM How about a road racing version for women cycling? Could work well with the smaller peloton in women cycling, more chaotic racing and nice focus on short stage races, one days and a slowly building legacy of races.

If i were to try something like this (and i did with Triathlon) it would have to be Track Cycling based!
The shortness of the races would be the only way i could ever turn out actual content and get into the flow of it and move at a pace to really build an RPG world. I think with the mix of events (Keirin, Sprints, Pursuits, 6-days, Madison etc) it would always stay fresh. And in the vein of CX:AND there's great potential there to revamp the structures and create various League's and Competitions that span across a season.
You could have 5 "Monument" 6-Day races but split into three season-long competitions that also have Keirins, Individual Pursuits, and Scratch Races, so then created riders are rounded and gives players lots of areas to look at and stay interested in.
(Did i spend too much time thinking about this idea at work today? Yes, yes i did...)

And when would I be able to sign up for this? Sounds really cool
