Merlier won 'Ronde van Limburg' in front of McLay and Degenkolb.
Brent Van Moer was riding solo in the final kilometer until he took a wrong turn and followed the deviation for cars. He definitely wasn't out of range of the peloton, but to lose like this must be very sour. He was in the break for 140km as well. |

I'm very curious to see when Chris Froome will give an end to this poignant farce of building up for his TdF GC

U23 Giro started today and I came across this curious name on the startlist. Apparently Vino’s twin sons (Alexandre and Nicolas) are aiming to follow their dad’s steps in cycling. Had no idea.

Froome admitted it recently that he will not go for GC this year. I have never been his fan; actually quite oposite, but give him some respect for his efforts.

Turns out, he never was all that good of a cyclist after all...just those 'marginal gains' from Sky that made him great...
I remain excited for his tell all book in about 5 years time where he admits to the motor doping and drug use... |

After Catalunya and Romandie, I hoped he got a shot at yellow here. Looking good, definitely stronger than Thomas. |

Joe Dombrowski won at Sestola after Colle Passerino last month. Today Juan Ayuso did the same at Giro d'Italia U23. |

Can’t share the tweet with the stats, but if you click on the link you’ll see Ayuso apparently climbed quicker than Bernal and Landa last month. Insane talent.

Aaaaand Alaphilippe with another irregular sprint, hopefully he's relegated again. Can't this guy behave like a normal bike rider in a sprint? |

That's impressive! I followed his career since last year and I like his style quite a lot. I believe a star is rising. The Spanish would love that! As a matter of fact, I would love that too! |

Yes, I think he's almost underrated, but based on what I'm seeing he really could be a top rider in a short amount of time, and should almost be talked about like Evenepoel and others were. He's clearly too good for the CT division at 18 as he's hanging with riders like Vansevenant and Vingegaard already.
Im interested to see if he becomes more of a hill rider, or if he'll be good on all climbs. He's just won another MO stage at the U23 Giro today, but winning MO stages in Jr races doesn't always translate to being a top climber.

@valverde321 I hope he keeps his climbing abilities on the next level because I'd certainly love to see him more in the future.
I am very curious to see in which races UAE decides to send him from August on. |
