Giro D’Italia 2021

Tomorrow, due to bad conditions forecasted at the office, I am gonna attend only 1 meeting out of 3. Also, I will present only the middle and end parts of my working sheets, on a shortened schedule, of course.

Remco should pack his bags and go home to prepare for Tokyo. This wasn't an off-day clearly, his shape has been going downhill ever since the first week.

I hope he stays in the race. He can learn a lot from days like these. It was major hubris to think off him as a contender after 9 months without racing but he can still get a lot of it, including race kilometers for Tokyo. Also let him slave for Almeida a bit lol

No real reason to go home, but damn. Quickstep really screwed this race up, huh?

I did probably see the funniest transition in commentary style before and after Evenepoele dropped off contention. the dutch/belgian commentators went from consistantly calling him Remco to Evenepoel almost the moment he dropped.

I was looking forward to this king mountain stage with three legendary climbs. And now I watched it after work... It would be better if they just canceled it. Some kind of parody...

Let's save the history of PCM together!

Just write me a PM if you have something for old PCM Editions (from 2005 to 2014) - databases, stages, shirts etc. and we'll share it.

I saw some very nice photos from yesterday's stage. Such a shame that we couldn't get live picture and that such an appetizing stage was shortened.

Also, Tim Merlier won yesterday Ronde van Limburg although he was complaining of fatigue at Giro. I am of the opinion that the riders who withdraw from a Grand Tour without a sensible reason should not be allowed to ride other races during that particular GT. What Merlier did seems disrespectful to me.

I think there's a rule where he have to ask the race organisation permission to participate in another race, although I've never known it to be an issue. Anyway, I think he had a full week of rest, so I don't see a problem with it. Sprinters drop out of GT's all the time.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I am perfectly aware of that, but I still find it disrespectful. I don't like it. Of course, that is strictly my personal point of view.

Precisely what I was thinking when i read he raced there. Could be hard to implement the rule though as there would surely be riders faking an injury.

That was an awesome Giro. One of my fondest memories in cycling. Smile

Now that the race is out of reach, the other teams suddenly want to chase breaks.

Lotto down to two riders as well, with Oldani a sprinter and Vanhoucke with poor recovery, it's not entirely unlikely they won't finish the Giro.

Massive crash there. Evenepoel is involved there
