Okay, well Pinot has to make up 44 seconds on the other favourites. He should be able to make up 30 seconds on the mountain stage if he has a strong day... no pressure. This is going to be close!
Meanwhile, disappointed but not surprised not to have Hamza perform Big F for Dumoulin and Abhi - sums up their plagued season so far.

Lol, Zabel'd, in a TT
Still Dumoulin's best TT result all season. Maybe he'll finally win one before the season ends.
Congrats to MacC and thanks for the report

Not much to say as far as sprints. AKA sucks like usual, but at least he sprinted at all. Bertilsson also surprisingly was up there, but unsurprisingly did absolutely nothing to help his leader and finishes outside the top 10, making him useless.
Glad Eg will get to wear white for the mountain stage, though he's effectively just saving it for Ranaweera. Tomorrow will obviously be a big day for us.

Wow, stagiaire Novakowskyi really trying to land a contract, first stage in line of his career and immediately in the right break! Manarelli on the other hand couldn't care less about an other contract, doing even worse than Sterbini yesterday
As soon as I saw the sprint trains forming and him being nowhere I knew it wouldn't be for today, but I'm hoping it was just bad positioning, and as he was "still" tenth I suppose this could just be a bad stage for him, with better stuff following (or at least I hope so).
Thanks for the report, red!

Let's be honest, the biggest question for this one is how much time do we lose in the TTT as we are definitely going to need an advantage over Pinot going into it if we want to win this race.

I love the energy with 3 guys in the break but the first sprint stage probably wasn't the ideal time to go all out.

Okay, well one flat stage out the way. Will definitely be signing a 2nd tier sprinter just to keep these stages interesting for our team
Now it’s Pinot’s time to shine

Not good enough for Craddock I think.
If it were an ITT I'd fancy his chances to sneak top ten but not with Glanbia TTT squad. Thanks

Good effort by the team, but Warbasse didn't quite have it in the end, which makes sense. Congrats to Sauber for playing it so well.
Given the top gaps, we have a pretty good chance to hold a top 5 going into the TTT, and an outside shot at the podium. The higher the better, obviously. Not just for Warbasse, but depth. Eg would do well to stay in the top 20, and even Olesen could sneak into the top 25 with a good day. Of course, that's all assuming there are no time gaps on the "hilly" stage. If there are, that changes things, and might actually help us.
Unfortunately, we now have to put up with two days of AKA as our "leader." He instead decided to give his full effort in the mountains. Really playing to his strengths.

Job done well on the mountains, now we just have to hope our TTT isn't dreadful.
Ideally I'd have liked to see Frankiny also in the GC top 10 but he did everything he possibly could to give Ranaweera the best shot of winning the GC.

Way to go 2nath Can't really complain about this stage. Nice to see former rider Marquez in the thick of things as well.
Not sure the gaps are enough to keep the poidum spot with the TTT especially. Let's see how that goes. Before that, it's a couple more useless flat stages to get past. So enjoy guys
Thanks for the reports red

Great preview and reports red, sorry for arriving late to the party. Impressive results from our boys Sobota and Cornu to take a couple of podiums. Barbio is riding nicely as well working for that top10 result. Interested to see what's coming out of here for us.
Great win for Sauber, congrats!

Marquez is back in business Nice ride by him, and it looks like Ulloa did a great job of protecting him as long as possible as will, what a shame I won't have the Mexican in the team for the next two seasons, I really like him.
Too bad our TTT squad is that bad, the gaps aren't that big, so it won't even be a surprise to see Marquez out of the top-10 in the end. Time for Manarelli to show himself now, hoping for some decent results from him.
Thanks for the nice report, red, and congratulations to Sauber

I feel I haven't had a lot of luck lately when it comes/came to Marquez and Sterbini, but my sprinters on the other hand have definitely had the luck on their side. First Guillén with a stolen win in San Luis, and this time it seems like Krieger should have won instead of Manarelli I wont complain too much though, and I'll gladly accept the win
Thanks for the report, red!

Very poor from Pinot in the mountain stage. Whether or not he just mistimed it doesn’t matter - result wasn’t up to scratch. Don’t see us making up the gap in the TTT, but at least we could move up the order. On that note, we have Russom and Reguigui also in the top 10 so at the end of the tour it may still be a decent outcome. As long as they don’t lose time in the hill stage!

Loving those team results in the mountain, and I *should* be happy with Krieger, but it is still so gutting to lose a sprint that it looked like we had won. |
