Don't know how the original selection was made in the beginning, but guessing from the amount of riders they had in the break, Bike Exchange might have created the echelons in the opening stages. Can't fathom how DQS missed that, they are probably the masters in positioning, probably lost focus and the others made the most of that mistake. |

Peloton splitted very very early after just 60 km with Trentin followed by many BE guys, maybe DQS didn't give proper consideration with 180km remaining..

I think they were rather like hey guys we have in front Sam Benett wHo was able to stay at the front and so we refuse contribute to the chase. If they started to pull they would get to the first group.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

yes, they probably played this card, but I think it's anyway a bad way to read the race, as Bennett is likely more comfortable to win a bunch sprint rather than a small group one...

He’s ready for his usual top-10 at Fleche Wallone.
Van Baarle rode like VDP today, great win. Seemed like Mathieu didn’t care much about winning today, training ride or bad legs? He did help out for Merlier, but one wonders if this was too much bluff. |

Juan Ayuso won Trofeo Piva today. I'm getting really excited about this young guy. |

Philipsen!
But really, that Alpecin team. How much they have improved. De Bondt and Rickaert destroyed the QS sprint train there.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

DQS with some really bad tactics though (Bora even worse however), the sympathy attempt with Cav wasn't the smartest if you wanted to win. Well derseved win for Alpecin.

Death, taxes and Kelderman crashing. 2020 was an off year.
Could add Woodsy in the mix too. |

We need more short, punchy stages like this one, what a great ride today. |

Quite a raid by Roglic today, and happy for Gaudu.

great ride today by Gaudu and Roglic, they deserved both stage and GC. UAE seemed in total control with so many riders in front during the climb.
Anyway there was quite a lot emphasis in Roglic finale, I doubt it would have happened without Paris-Nice stuff...
