Asgreen was brilliant all day long. This is the beauty of cycling, the unpredictability, the suspense, chapeau!
And Deceuninck will have a lot to thank this man for having a positive cobbled classics season. |

Kinda predictable seeing how Asgreen responded to Mathieu. Great win anyway, fantastic move by Kasper! But in this shape I think it would've been Asgreen vs Vanmarcke at Roubaix.

Not really. It started exactly like last year with WVA and MVDP outlasted him |

I actually think Senechal could have done something special in Roubaix instead. |

I was talking about the decicive attack when Asgreen came back to MvdP after being distanced in a 1 vs 1 time trial. Showing that Asgreen had more power left. And then he played it phenomenally with the early sprint, making sure that more power wins rather than relying on explosiveness. Textbook sprint by Asgreen despite being in the weaker position imo.
@Freitas: If Senechal can't win that sprint after being tucked in the slipstream all race I think he even placed himself higher than he would've if the race was strictly decided by power. |

There's twice in a week when MVDP looked spent in the end. But I guess this one hurts a lot more than Dwars door Vlaanderen.
Without taking any merit from Asgreen obviously. He did a great race. |

Brian Holm call's Kasper a motorbike - now also with a bit of turbo.

Last 3km are okay with littering guys, chill.
Everyone crazy about MvP losing a sprint, but I don't see anyone bat an eye at Vanmarcke actually winning a sprint (for 4th). That's one for the history books!

Don't think the other two had particular bad legs today, Kasper had one of those ++ days and he has never been afraid of attacking, he drained everyone from quite early on, only having that one "difficult" moment (besides the crash)

I don't know why, he was never slow. I guess him getting beaten by Cancellara still hurts him. As someone else said, he really could've been great in Roubaix.

Only caught that last 25 km live cause my sleep schedule is completely screwed, but some very interesting results.
- Asgreen is a pure powerhouse and could be the heir to Cancellara. He proved today he is not just the result of Quickstep's savvy tactics, he is a beast.
- GVA was still really strong to get another podium here despite looking iffy the last couple of year. Seems like this is the one race he will never conquer, but when you have Roubaix I'm sure that's a bit more palatable.
- Vanmarcke is still alive! Would have been interesting to see how he'd do if Roubaix was next week. 5th is well beyond what I expected from him, and he managed to even win a group sprint.
- Van Aert might finally be feeling the effects of peaking for 2 straight years on every terrain, if the last couple of weeks are any indication. Glad to see it if it's true.
RIP Exxon Duke, David Veilleux, Double Feature, and Monster Energy

The weakness of the Jumbo classics team was shown once again though, first Oude Kwaremont and they're all gone again. If you compare that to Quick Step or even a PCT team that still had Vermeersch, Rickaert and De Bondt supporting Mathieu after that. Wout is just much faster on his own and that hurts him.
Asgreen just fenomenal. I thought it was the wrong choice to let him go instead of Alaphilippe and that he should work with Mathieu so long, but he sure proved me wrong. Also, he's won 3 cobbled classics so far, which is actually the same as Wout and Mathieu combined. Think about that.
