I’m okay with 5th here after winning yesterday. Coquard was a bit overconfident, or Farantakis just too weak to make it work. We tried atleast to make the doublewin. Too bad it costed both jersey, but Coquard landed the amount of points we needed/expected from this race. Now it’s up to others to follow through hopefully.
Congrats on the win :-)

Too less. Howard may be consistent as ever, but unfortunately, it's just enough for some minor scoring in his recent appearances. I'm also not a fan of our team and Bobridge in particular trying a leadout. It makes for a good looking stage result and I guess the lead in team's classification, but other than that, it's not worth the try with our setup.

With a 5th place on stage 1 and now a 2nd place today, Boeckmans has done his job and scored the points I hoped he would Now let's see what happens in the TT stage for Nepomnyachsniy.
Congrats on the win Crue

Jay Major, the first rider to complete the Minion Development Program, with an awesome win! Even though it's not in our colors anymore, congrats CrueTrue!

Good to see Brändle and Viviani mostly out of trouble. Could have benefitted from more gaps in the first stage as well, but doesn't really matter. Seeing my team participate in the pacemaking, gives me some hopes for Brändle's chances here!

Now that surprised me, considering Lutsenko does not participate in this race. |

The rider right next to Aregger under the flamme rouge wins the stage, despite being a worse rider in every relevant metric. Fun.
I mean I'm glad Aregger at least tried, but this is a recurring theme this season and it's frustrating.

I think I meant Viviani with that one

Again slightly worrying from Kwiatkowski to drop for a while. Hopefully he can now overperform a lot in the TT. If we're going to get anything from this race GC wise, that is needed, I think
Can't really wait for the hilly stages, those are the ones where we can potentially do something here on home soil! |

Oh a very bad 2nd sector unfortunately. I was dreaming of a stagewin there for a while, so 4th is dissapointing. Zoidl slightly below par, but I guess not too bad. Koretzky have quite some work to do. Fingers crossed we are aggressive rather than trying to defend Vlatos in a mission impossible.
Congrats on the expected and needed win for Phinney :-)

There time trial itself wasn't too bad even by De Bie.
Though 2 min is quite something to gain back for a good GC.
Really need 2 selective and aggressive him stages now. Not only for the GC probably more important to get high stage points and normally DeBie should fight for the stage win in each. |

Solid result for Bobridge, I guess. He used to be worse in TTs in the most recent past.
Phinney obvious winner and the GC his his to lose. Not sure, how much the next stage will kill Bobridge's under-pat mountain skills, but if he somehow limits the damage, the final stage should be suitable for him at least. Obviously anything but a notable GC result would be terrible, but stage four looks dangerous for him..

Good TT for Dunbar, around the expect time loss. Now we have to wait to see how many of those ahead in GC are dropped in the hilly stages. U25 win looks safe, maybe Rodriguez can join that Top8 too?

Not one of Gallopin's best TT performances, but pretty decent nonetheless. Should be possible to advance a little bit in the GC, but the climb towards the finish on the next stage could also turn out to be way too tough for him. Looking forward to see how it pans out.

That was a pretty solid TT from Nepomnyachsniy. He could still do terrible in the final two stages and finish around 50th. So far so good, but that's why I still wanna see Poljanec or Penko in the breakaway. Mottin never scores points in TT stages.
Expected win from Phinney, but Keizer is closer than I would've thought

Sütterlin underperformed very slightly, but that's majorly overshadowed by Colin Stüssi's first day in the spotlight as a maxed rider!
What a ride by a 75tter to get close to a Top 10 and mingle with the bunch of 78-79s present here, and thanks to Sütterlin losing time previously, he definitely has to be recognized as our leader with at least minor GC ambitions tomorrow.
I remain confident that FL and MO matter at least as much as HIL tomorrow, at least for making it to the bottom of the final hill in the front group, which is what is actually relevant for an opportunist like Stüssi in such a startlist.
Stüssi being in the Top 10 of the GC now is a perfect position to add some tickets into the AI positioning battle to give him an even better chance at a surprise.
Losing time to the top puncheurs after that won't hurt as much anymore, with the stage 1 splits and the TT gaps giving us a slight buffer already.

Yeah Phinney does his thing, lovely! Eventhough the gap is small, we're having a great team to build on the lead. Mohoric please do well at least as a super-domestique. |

Unfortunate that Kwiatkowski had a really bad day there. Looking at the riders in front of him, he should have been able to do a minute better and "only" loose about two minutes, not three.
Nothing to wait for on the hills, then! Fingers crossed we can race aggressive and try to make gaps with Kwiatkowski |

Great von by both the team and Phinney. Calmejane, Bugge and Polanc ahead of Mohoric make me really question my race selection once more though... |

Fair result. My other riders shockingly doing nothing, but Bobridge did well enough. Not sure if the final stage opens an opportunity to attack (Keizer). It would be nice, if Bobridge tries something though.

Bad Stage for us. Koretzky underperforming and Zoidl is just poor. I don’t really understand why that is, but it is what it is. He was one of my key/favorite signings due to wage/RD potential, but I must admit he dissapointed big time. He doesn’t even work properly as a domestique.
Glad to see Hagen ressurect and play it hands on like that. That was well deserved after a horrible start. Phinney doing his thing to make sure he will win. Smart planning Croatia :-)
Just one Stage to go, and it is obvious that we won’t come away with a GC noteworthy. We did anticipate that though. But I would like to see Zoidl in the morning break now and Koretzky to take a leap forwards in a stagewinning move. Whether it brings succes isn’t given, but that is my ideal scenario now.
