Far too successful to be a one-hit wonder!
all medals from national team, where he was selected as reserve
Ah but a stupid person would only see those counting as results on Wikipedia, and therefore not use him as an answer.
Why are you being too clever and actually knowing stuff?

No love for iconic olympic rower Cameron Wurf, one hit wonder Jorge Masvidal vs Ben Askren and what hurts me the most: Cross Country Running
Spoiler In case anyone wondered: Uganda is current Men's Cross Country team world champion
My love goes out to kandes for mentioning my former profile pic

Notable mentions go to Michael Chang
The video was my alternative answer to/interpretation of a "one-hit wonder". But Michael Chang's 1989 French Open was legendary, especially the match against Ivan Lendl.

I'll take that as a compliment Well 4/5 of those I would consider proper answers, Cheslin Kolbe is the only one that is correct but impossible to "snipe" I don't know much about world politics so there will definitely be some stupid ass answers this time
Do love the three different NBA teams all on one point though Not quite when knockout, TMM and I all answered different members of the Spice Girls to a "Name a spice" question though
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Saw the Steven Bradbury race live. Still the greatest moment in sports underdog history (ok second to the Miracle in Istanbul ).

breh Kabaddi and Zatopek, how can you snipe those to be fair it was such an open ended round that you can name 100 different things and still be correct

I am realising now I google him that Zatopek isn't as iconic as I thought, but he had his own section in this Horrible Histories-style book I have had since I was a kid and is one of my main sources of Olympic knowledge to this day so that's why I put him

I'm with stupid 2021 - Game 2, Round 3: Geopolitics!?
Time to switch over to geopolitics, with lots of space for questionable answers and ideas. Ollfahrd is now the hunted one at the top.
1. Name an island that is smaller than Iceland.
Lots of different answers at the start, but then Ireland pulled away as the clear favourite, winning with 8 votes. Isle of Man was the second most popular answer with 3, whereas Malta took 2. I honestly expected either Mallorca, Cuba or Manhattan to win, so this would've been a 1-pointer for me. The Bikini-Atolls were prbably the most lovely of the answers given.
Spoiler Ireland | 8 | Isle of Man | 3 | Malta | 2 | Sicily | 1 | Alcatraz | 1 | Cyprus | 1 | Bikini | 1 | Nazino Island | 1 | Bled Island | 1 | Bermuda | 1 | Faroer | 1 |
2. Name a crazy dictator that is still in office but not Kim-Jong Un..
Yeah who doesn't love him- or herself a crazy dictator? Most of you seem to fancy Vladimir Putin as the crazy dictator still in office, but I got news for you. It get's more autocratic and definitely more crazy. While Xi Jinping alias Winnie the Pooh is like Vladimir Putin the more generic answer that technically shouldn't belong here (he does score on the crazyness-scale and on the dictator-scale, but not that much), the other 3-point answer Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow was absolutely nailing it. The turkmeni "prime minister" in love with horses and world records is a rising star shining bright on the crazy dictator sky. Maduro, Lukashenko, Orban and ErdoÄŸan are more excellent answers, but the bonus point goes to the perfect answer of Gianni Infantino. Also keep roturn away from this thread.
Spoiler Vladimir Putin | 8 | Xi Jinping | 3 | Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow | 3 | Nicolas Maduro | 1 | roturn | 1 | Gianni Infantino | 1 | Alexandr Lukashenko | 1 | Joe Biden | 1 | Viktor Orban | 1 | Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan | 1 |
3. Name a former Soviet Country that is neither Russia nor in conflict with it.
I honestly expected this to be a more open category, but on a cycling site Kazakhstan probably is the most obvious answer. 10 points is the may in this game so far, while Belarus with also 5 does well. Kandesbunzler snipes jandals 5-pointer answer answering with a similar rethorical statement, while quasdas also get's sniped by Marcovdw with his Estonia-answer. East Germany here was technically not a correct but still a pretty cool answer.
Spoiler Kazakhstan | 10 | Belarus | 5 | Is there one? | 2 | Estonia | 2 | Latvia | 1 | East Germany | 1 |
4. Name a mountain you can't climb that is neither Mount Everest nor K2.
Probably one of the most open questions was about naming a mountain one can't climb. The expected win was handed to the Kilimanjaro, which is "pretty easy" to climb in comparison to others but also pretty famous. Slightly more difficult are the European Mont Blanc and Matterhorn, definitely more difficult is the Nanga Parbat and fucking amazing difficult is the Olympus Mons, which also is the (by far) coolest answer in this round. Many interesting answers of cool climbs at the 1-pointers, I kinda love Etna as a call given the cycling reference and its current eruption which definitely doesn't make you wanna climb it atm.
Spoiler Kilimanjaro | 3 | Mont Blanc | 2 | Nanga Parbat | 2 | Olympus Mons | 2 | Matterhorn | 2 | Kanchenjunga | 1 | Uluru | 1 | Lhotse | 1 | Most of them because I’m scared and lazy and COVID | 1 | Gangkhar Puensum | 1 | Mount Doom | 1 | Annapurna | 1 | Jakarta's Trash Mountain | 1 | Etna | 1 | Karjiang | 1 |
5. Name an African country that is more developed than one would expect.
Another pretty open question, asking not only for an african country but also for one that does better than expected in it's recent development. Therefore Egypt might be an okay answer, but Botswana might be the most spot on answer, doing well in building a stable democracy and societal growth. 2 points for Nigeria which is kinda crazy as they're in some sort of civil war right now, while Rwanda does not only grow on the cycling scale but also economically. Mauritius wins two points as well (they have a good bank there I've heard, right TMM!?). Jandal for the first time making an appearance with a pretty call answer, stating that he thought that Madagascar was ruled by a singing Lemur but apparently it’s not (yeah he watched the right movies I guess). I raise you the question: Is the reality then really that much better than the expectation!?
Spoiler Egypt | 3 | Botswana | 3 | Mauritius | 2 | Nigeria | 2 | Nigeria | 2 | Rwanda | 2 | South Africa | 1 | Madagascar | 1 | Algeria | 1 | Gabon | 1 | Seychelles | 1 | Wakanda | 1 | eSwatini | 1 | Senegal | 1 | Kenya | 1 |
That means that baseballlover312 wins this round, coming back after an awful one last round to shoot up the rankings. He also is the first one to score a perfect round, congratulations! FreitasPCM and TMM follow by scoring big, as df_trek keeps up with the top. Ollfahrd and Vali do well in the upper half of the table, then many participants between 21-16, probably guessing 2 out of 3 big pointers right. At the bottom redordead is the surprising one nailing the 5-pointer, as both quasdas and jandal7 get sniped once.
baseballlover312 | 32 | FreitasPCM | 30 | TheManxMissile | 30 | df_Trek | 29 | Vali | 25 | Ollfahrd | 23 | Bikex | 21 | jseadog | 21 | cunego59 | 20 | Ripley | 20 | alexkr00 | 18 | Scatmaster111 | 18 | AbhishekLFC | 18 | Marcovdw | 17 | Nemolito | 16 | kandesbunzler26 | 13 | Shonak | 10 | knockout | 6 | jandal7 | 6 | quasdas | 6 | redordead | 5 |
The implications for the overall standings are pretty simple. Ollfahrd keeps the lead, but cunego59 got overtaken bei Freitas for second, who scored in the Top3 for the second round in a row. Marcovdw also loosing some places, while df_trek and also TMM and baseballlover come closer to the front. Still everything is pretty close together, and in the next rounds you can rise up the rakings from almost everywhere.
I'm with stupid 2021: Croatia14's Round 4
Sad Stories
1. Name a movie the world doesn't need.
2. Name something that goes missing more often than you like.
3. Name your celebrity crush (even if he/she doesn't answer your DMs).
4. Name someone/something that emits more Carbondioxide than it should.
5. Name an endangered species humanity caused most problems for.
PM me your answers until 8PM daily time on Tuesday, February 23rd.

Thank you, I'm a bit puzzled how the top answer is a mountain that literally hundreds of thousands of people climb every year, but okay I guess
I was deciding between Kazakhstan and Belarus, should have known that Astana is enough to swing it to the former. And Putin? I mean, a dictator sure, but crazy? How many statues of his dog with giant tv screens on it has he built?
