Why are the 31+ PoY for 80.0+ riders more expensive than the ordinary PoY?

Just a quick question. Pinned calendar is also current one, right?

@Ripley: Good question Pfft
I believe they should be the same price I'm at the moment not sure which one was intended to be the correct one..

@dominox: Yes!

I updated this now to the more expensive values as it was easier to change them.

If I understand correctly, there are 100 ICL$ reserved just for research, i.e. if I don't spend them on research, they're gone? Don't really know what to do with that money right now (with no obvious useful training available), so any hints are welcome Smile

Buy scouts for scouting talent w/ the $100 - great system, lots of fun.

That was not my intention! And maybe not fair on managers who were planning to buy a PoY for their captains. I eventually ended up spending more on riders but I was planning to keep back 300 exactly for Sagan and would be very upset now that's it's jumped to 350. I reckon you should change it back, for this season at least.

I see you did not read my beginner's FAQ! Smile

Check the section "Should I spend my whole budget on my squad?"

Yeah, I did, even more than once. The main thing I wanted to know is if I can carry over money from research to scouting, but I guess it isn't possible. I'll figure out some way to spend those extra dollars then Wink

Ripley
Ok, maybe I need to rewrite it a bit. No, you can't carry over the 100 bonus to scouting. So buy 10 mediators, that's essentially carrying the money over to next season.

I've got a question: How is training assigned to a specific rider? I cant find anywhere to do it in the research file, so Im assuming its done later? (Unless I've missed it)

Is there anyway to try and guess approximately how a rider would be affected before spending money on the packs as well (like a low and high end depending on how much is spent that would be based on the base stats and stat matrix tabs I'm guessing) ?

Ripley
Yes, maybe slightly confusingly there will be another file to assign the research.

Mabye Bikex can provide a tool to calculate these things. For an approximation (or calculating it yourself): If you spend 100 on a sprint package you will get between 7.5 and 15 base points in SPR (100x0.015x5 up to 100x0.03x5).

You're right of course that was not fair. Changed it back. I'll check if everyone used the cheaper variant

As I did some math for myself before research started: In research file where you have those training packs, you have those points from 0 to 6.

For every 100 you spend on training, this is approx. the outcome you can get:

From 1,5 to 3 small stat points when there is 1 in the table
3 to 6 - 2 in the table
4,5 to 9 - 3 in the table
6 to 12 - 4 in the table
7,5 to 15 - 5 in the table
9 to 18 - 6 in the table

To see "small stats" for example just download latest DB Bikex uploaded and check BaseStats, StatMatrix will show what number your rider need for specific stat.

Fe:

76 stat is described as having at least 307 small base stats. 77 needs 351. So to increase certain stat from 76 to 77 your rider needs 44 small base stats.

Perfect, exactly what I was hoping to find out. Thanks a lot both.

So in a way it can help to increase the speed of progression for younger riders, or improve an older riders (main/big) stats if enough "small" stat points are gained to cross the threshold for a higher "main" stat based on the stat matrix tab?

Basically, yeah Grin

Ripley
I'm certainly no expert when it comes to training. To me it's more about checking whether a rider is already close to his next main stat level, though speeding up the development of an imprtoant talent even a little can't be wrong, either.

For example, last season Tao Hart was close to MON 77, I think I needed a bit of luck with a 100 package to get him there, but it worked. And I think it made quite the difference, he had a great season. But I wouldn't have been mad had it not got him to MON 77 because he is an important British talent.

is there somewhere a DB with already updated base stats?

Ripley
All the new dbs this season have a tab with the current base stats.

Upgrading talents is cool but you should also.watch out for the Age of Decline trigger. Might not so be good if your talent loses a year bc being a bit over AVG.
