Quick question is there a minimum wage you should spend on U23. Last year it was not I think but before it was 1000?

Okay... so according to "Start" page I have 7830 budget, but in "Renewals" page only 5330. Where this difference is coming from?
edit. I probably missed 2,5k budget going... in cloud somewhere? |

@krisa: You are right, the latest was no minimum amount to spend on the U23. Well, 800 since you need at least 8 riders.
@dominox: Read the instructions again. Bikex has made a change this season to the budget numbers in the renewals tab to account for the minimum riders you need - you need 25 riders, they have to at least earn 100 each, that's where the 2.5k are. So the number now tells you how much you can spend over min wages. (I think. In any case, you have your full budget to work with.)

Second one is not fully correct, if you put a 0 bid it also counts as a rider I think

Thanks, seems like I didn't get that quite right in my mind then. I was just doing a run during my home office hours and already bid farewell to Castroviejo lol

That's why I have a little bit of an issue. Because in renewals tab it looks like you have 5,3k and not more than this, not 7,8k. I realised it is indeed counting that 100 for a rider (so if you bid 500, it will take 400 from your budget). But it's very not intuitive.
At least I know how it's working, lol |

Ripley's explanations are correct, thanks!
Thanks for noticing that krisa its also fixed now!
@dominox: Yeah maybe, how do you think it can be done more intuitive? |

I would just probably put whole budget there without taking either 1,8k/2,5k with indication that you need 18/25 riders so plan wisely. But since I'm probably only one noticinig that, don't bother about me. I just told what I thought about it when I saw much smaller budget than in other page . |

I agree it doesn't feel natural, but it's perfectly logical if you read the instructions. I'll probably send in mine next week and I should find some time between the holidays for the transfers.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

I added a row to the file which hopefully makes this clearer! |

I make my own spreadsheet to keep track of how much I have left to spend, so I'm easy.
Let me address the new managers who are hopefully watching this thread. Once renewals are done you'll start playing, too. I recommend downloading the first 2020 db (see the previous page of this thread) and taking a good look at all the available free agents. Maybe take a look at the 2019 teams, how they performed (rankings 2019 thread), I also compiled a few season stats (previews&statistics thread) which are marginally useful. You could also check out my beginner's FAQ (Information&Links). Like last season, if anybody wants any advice, send me a PM and I'll share what I know with you.

Good samaritan Ripley, probably just trying to find an early buyer for Fuglsang

I wish, no, Fuglsang will become a free agent, he wants far too much money.
And in public I say to Geoghegan Hart and his initial wage demand: We'll make you a fair offer and remember, everybody is replaceable!

Awesome, hopefully I'll be able to take a look on the weekend.
And yeah Uni is very stressful but hoepfully I will have enough time for a good transfer season this year.

With no steals and no star riders I probably didn't need all those mediators did I?
Will do my renewals over the weekend, but I think some of our riders are going to explore free agency. Drop me a PM if you want any rider other than Moreira, Boswell, Dumoulin and Mollema.

Seems like there is quite some refurnishing going on over at Team BP. Lots of people out. Seeing how I have done my renewals in a day, it is great to read your perspective musings on the nature of deal negotiations, Ripley. The Art of the Downsett-Deal.

Well, I don't see the need of making long post about my renewals, so I'll make it as short as possible - the only departures of note are Smukulis, Roche and Frank. Some of the renewed riders may be shipped off in transfer season - Ahlstrand and Ludvigsson are the only riders that are 100%, no questions why untouchable.

These are all tough decisions for me. I like all my riders, but I started with an old team and the guys aren't getting any younger and so I have to do something. Otherwise they'll all decline at the same time. But I'll need at least another day before settling on my round 2 offers.
