@cio - Damn straight! Grin

@quadsas - You did what you could, but the dictatorship overruled everything!

@Marcovdw - Indeed. I struggle to see whether or not he resembles "The Cobra" or Floyd Landis the most now Pfft

@knockout - Thanks Smile Hehe yeah, I guess it's not MAL time for a GT battle just yet, but I can see you are starting to build a GT setup nice and slowly Pfft

@whitejersey - True... The devaluation of 84-85MO stat riders were short lived Smile

@Shonak - I so badly hope that you'll be right on that one! Smile

Time to greet our new talents. After some seasons with a "normal" amount of talents, we push yet again for a larger pool of talented riders to take from in the future. This season have seen us take on nothing short of 11 new talents in. Even for us, that is a very very large pool. Fortunately we have managed to land most of these talents cheaply and most of them are very promising.

We will present them in different categories, starting with climbers/GC riders:

Remy Rochas 3.00 24yo Climber €50.000

Wow, I'm just amazed by how many great Greek talents you managed to include in the DB... Especially given how hard it is to find useful Swiss talens. Seems like you do have good connections to MGUCI Pfft

I really like your commitment to developing young riders, fantastic to see that this can work out even in PT! While you probably won't be fighting for the PT title, I definitely join Shonak in hoping that this year will mark the end of the French drought Smile

They have been build/altered over a very long time Smile

Thanks a lot. And yeah I think it is definately doable. cio is another good example of how it can be done - although a bit less nationality strict Smile

I'm not putting too much thought into the PT fight to be honest. Otherwise I wouldn't have let riders like Petit, Daniel/Kittel and Ackermann go but rather swap a bit around to make enough to get Lecuisinier to 84MO, which would have been fairly easy Smile

I really hope that this approach will give Lecusinier a GT win, while developping Greek riders to an extent where I can start letting them lead the team in numerous races 2 years from now Smile

I think they will fit in well with Coquard and Lecuisinier a lot yeah. Aidan is going to be at Koretzky level when Koretzky reaches 32 so that should also be "in order". So I guess now I just have to wait Pfft

Lecuisinier is no longer the rider who is scared, so I'm happy to tell where he will go - whether that will scare of some or not Pfft

I had an "or" goal with TdF and decided that it would fit the roleplay well if he finally managed to win a GT it would be the one where he first landed his top 10 and later also his first top 5.

I guess seeing how Coquard performed as a favorite last time we should also be happy with a podium Smile

We have spent a great amount of time presenting talents and potential during the off season. But it is time for us to have a little look into what our team leaders will look like also. Don't write us off, just yet!

Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier 4.100 27yo Stage Racer €750.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
71857577788079656774657077

Pierre-Henri is probably our biggest star of the team, whereas he in the future often was 2nd violin, first to Spilak and last season he was also 2nd priority after Bryan Coquard. This season we return the favors and cut a bit of the durability in sprints for better GC setups. Lecuisinier is expected to win - or atleast fight for the win in all races he attends this season. Lecuisnier is among the top 3 GC riders in the world.

Bryan Coquard 4.100 28yo Sprinter €600.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
73586665717484568483606579

With Bryan Coquard as our main sprinter we still expect to receive a big amount of points and great results. We struggled to feature the proper setup around Coquard last season, so we have decided to trim the setup around him a bit but instead giving him two designated riders for a potential leadout, and a very strong rider for controlling things towards the end. Coquard also still have that very handy prologue capacity which will often help him in GC battles. Bryan is among the top 3 sprinters in the world.

Clement Koretzky 4.100 30yo Puncheur €350.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
73718163777071637179737061

Clement Koretzky have been one of our leading figures for several seasons, and he's still here with a leading/free role. In some races he will ride for stagewins, while in others he will ride for a strong overall result. We feel confident that Clement still have what it takes to be among the top 10 puncheurs. Despite others try to steal his shine he still is around 13th in the division.

Francesco Bongiorno 4.100 30yo Climber €150.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
69797568777777615869696568

Pierre-Henri Lecuisiniers great lieutenaint is called Francesco Bongiorno, and while a substantial amount of effort will be put into securing that Lecuisinier can win races, Francesco will also lead the way of his own from time to time. Last season he entered the top 15 in 2 Grand Tours also claiming 2nd in the KOM of one of them - We expect similar things this season. Francesco is also a shared ~30th best climber in the division, probably slightly higher.

David Boily 4.100 30yo Puncheur €240.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
67767870727269566874697961

David is back after some seasons trying his destine other places. Last time he was here he was still a "kid", while now he is a very capable rider. He will aid Koretzky in most of the one day races, while he will attempt to help Lecuisinier in a couple of occasions too... Mostly though he will be trying to bridge his own fortune and ride for some succes in those difficult punchy mountain stages. A TT doesn't kill him either. David is around 25th best puncheur in the division, and one of very few that climbs as well as he does. Just 3 riders with a better punch also climbs better on long climbs! Look at that downhill too guys!

Panagiotis Vlatos 4.100 30yo Timetriallist €115.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
72526681737167686766685281

Panagiotis Vlatos have been with us for a very long time, and is still one of the best timetriallists in the world. In fact he will be the shared 3rd best TT'er in the division this season and with Taylor Phinney mostly targeting other races, we expect big things - Again...

Georgios Karatzios 4.100 30yo Cobbler €85.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
77587159757167776365706159

Newly maxed cobbler, Georgios Karatzios will lead the way for us this season in the cobbled department and while we fully aknowledge the fact that he is not among the best cobblers, he is still around 26th in terms of pure cobble skills - But he is also a very strong rider with a stellar capacity in the flat races - but he can also survive hills pretty well. We have given him full freedom to chase his own goals, while Coquard is very reliant on him in the sprint finishes too.

Giacomo Nizzolo 4.100 31yo Sprinter €100.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
73546457706771578079626466

From time to time Giacomo will be leading out Coquard in the most important goals of the season - although he is signed for his own capacity as a bunch sprinter with winning potential. Last season having Petit and Stauff proved very handy in those races the top sprinters usually were to avoid. We expect stagewins and good results throughout from Nizzolo aswell as he is the shared 16th strongest sprinter in the PT.

Riccardo Zoidl 4.100 32yo Stage Racer €65.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
69757476716872566169755972

On many teams a rider like Zoidl, wouldn't be a leader as such - and on many occasions that would be the case for us aswell - But still he will ride a number of GC races with an ambition to do well. The combination of 76TT and 75MO can only be outdone by a fairly limited amount of riders - many of which will be targeting very different races interely or be used solely as domestiques. We hope to see Zoidl from his best side to land a couple of top 10-15 GC results from steady riding.

Georgios Bouglas 4.100 30yo Sprinter €60.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
72647058726776537878626758

Georgios Bouglas is the right hand man for Bryan Coquard, but having quite some freedom in races of his own too may come in handy as he is a pretty versatile type of sprinter. We can't lie, and tell that he will ever be a top 10 favorite, but we can say this much. From the pool of better sprinters in the PT only 6 riders can level or better his capability in hilly finishes!

Aidan van Niekerk 4.100 23yo Puncheur €110.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
69737765727576666374827165

While Aidan is yet to make his big breakthrough in terms of hilly races he already made a huge impact last season landing 2 Grand Tour stagewins, including the Champs-Elysées stage. He also wore the KOM jersey in both Grand Tours and is a constant threat. From the 33 rider that is currently stronger in the hills, only 12 of them can climb better - and here's the best part! Aidan is 23 years old. Out of the 33 better puncheurs only 2 of them can compete in the U25 competitions - and this is where we see a big opportunity for Aidan!

Nikolaos Ioannidis 4.100 27yo Stage Racer €70.000
Fl Mo Hi TT St Rs Rc Co Sp Ac Fi Dh Pr
67757375767473575870726776

Nikolaos is the final of our "leaders" and he falls into the same category as Ricardo Zoidl. Nikolaos, though is very strong also in longer races, and could be one of those handy 2nd week breakaway riders in Grand Tours - He also have the TT capacity to steal points in the 1 week long GC races, which we hope to see... His capacities see him as a very likely training target for next season - Just a small heads up!

So despite having A LOT of talent to worry about - Don't write us off, just yet!

Still dreaming a bit about what could have been possible if I had been able to buy that Bongiorno guy... Or at least Zoidl... You definitely do have the team it takes to win a GT - and the right leader on top of it Smile
And if Coquard performs better this year - iirc the tests with a PodiumAmbition-style-leadout were really promising for him, so let's see how it works out now - you'll definitely be in the mix for the top positions Smile
