You should have loaned Schomber to Evonik, then we could say you did the right thing

jandal - Oh come on. We all know that Schomber is the walking "Mom: We've got a prologue specialist at home"-meme...
fintas - Changed it
I will. He will have a proper GT leader role here with us and we'll do our best to put him into a position where he can succeed.
redordead - Every loan deal needs two interested teams

We approached King Power for a loan deal for a rider that already was part of the Evonik team once as a loanee and since they needed funds to buy a time triallist, they agreed to loan us Nur Amirul Marzuki (28) for the upcoming season.
He is an allrounder as you rarely see it. He can ride well over the cobbles and over the hills but he also rides over well over larger mountains and can win sprints from a reduced group. This versatile skill set was worth a 225k loan fee to us while we split his 50k wage. Welcome back, Nur Amirul Marzuki!

I tried my best I really did
Also knockout I love that use of Schomber as the Chavanne we have at home, it reminds me a lot of Van Staeyen being the same to Demare

Marzuki already seems to be a fan's favourite again. Probably shouldnt be surprised considering his wages when he was in FA the last time
Bikex : i'd absolutely love that but i dont see myself as favourite for that. History shows that you need a top 3 GT candidate to have a shot (or Bewley).
Guave: I like to think so. Both Mas and Tvetcov should improve our scoring in races where we traditionally lacked a bit.

And Marzuki makes twenty-one. 21 oughta do it, don't you think?
...
You think we need one more?
...
You think we need one more.
...
All right, we'll get one more.
We decided we need one more impact rider to complete Evonik's 22 and we got him: Patrick Naud (29) comes on loan from Campari for a fee of 250k as a replacement for Sven Nooytens who joins them permanently for a fee of 200k. Campari continues to pay the 90k wage of Naud for the season.
Naud is a classics specialists who is an excellent rouleur and a strong cobbler who can survive hills well. He will be a valuable help for Van Stayen, Blythe and Skujins throughout the season and is thus seen as a perfect fit for our squad:

Before we do our team presentation, we want to confirm speculations that none of our riders will visit a training camp this season.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Michael Van Stayen | 76 | 64 | 79 | 60 | 76 | 71 | 80 | 69 | 84 | 78 | 73 | 63 | 60 | | Miguel Angel Lopez | 70 | 79 | 82 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 74 | 50 | 66 | 78 | 80 | 71 | 72 | | Toms Skujins | 70 | 70 | 83 | 59 | 80 | 77 | 73 | 67 | 68 | 76 | 66 | 66 | 59 | | Adam Blythe | 76 | 54 | 66 | 68 | 76 | 71 | 77 | 82 | 76 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 71 |
This season we will have four outright leaders four 3,5 different terrains - all of them already known to the Evonik fan base. Lopez and Skujins will race as a leader duo in some races while they also spend a significant chunk of the year racing without the other one present. Van Stayen will be our clear leader for the sprints while Blythe will lead us over the cobbles.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | William Chiarello | 71 | 79 | 75 | 73 | 73 | 74 | 77 | 53 | 63 | 72 | 73 | 69 | 71 | | Serghei Tvetcov | 71 | 77 | 75 | 74 | 72 | 71 | 76 | 58 | 72 | 73 | 73 | 64 | 75 |
We have added two stage racers without any huge flaws in their stats that are expected to bring in GC results for us while we hope that they also go into attacking attempts throughout the season.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Andris Vosekalns | 66 | 78 | 75 | 62 | 69 | 73 | 72 | 51 | 67 | 71 | 81 | 68 | 62 | | Enric Mas | 69 | 76 | 75 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 75 | 56 | 60 | 75 | 71 | 69 | 68 | | Martins Blums | 72 | 75 | 75 | 68 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 63 | 64 | 68 | 71 | 78 | 71 | | Kaspars Sergis | 68 | 75 | 76 | 58 | 69 | 73 | 73 | 58 | 58 | 70 | 76 | 66 | 58 | | Andrei Sakalou | 66 | 76 | 75 | 65 | 63 | 72 | 72 | 54 | 60 | 72 | 77 | 62 | 65 |
This group of climbers will cover two terrains: Mountains and hills. Whenever the road rises, expect some of these guys to be in the peloton. It is important to us that each of them can go into the attack too.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Krists Neilands | 77 | 56 | 69 | 63 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 78 | 71 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 67 | | Oscar Riesebeek | 74 | 70 | 73 | 67 | 73 | 75 | 69 | 73 | 69 | 72 | 76 | 71 | 71 | | Nur Amirul Marzuki | 70 | 71 | 74 | 64 | 71 | 72 | 70 | 74 | 72 | 72 | 64 | 71 | 63 | | Patrick Naud | 76 | 62 | 73 | 64 | 72 | 73 | 71 | 74 | 64 | 67 | 78 | 75 | 64 | | Kristaps Budenieks | 69 | 73 | 74 | 63 | 70 | 74 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 73 | 74 | 72 | 61 |
Is it unfair to these riders to call them "cobblers"? Probably because each of them will fill valuable roles on other terrains too. But calling only these guys allrounders would be unfair to everyone else. These 5 riders will be very important to the success of Blythe on the cobbles amongst various other duties throughout the year. Some will be seen as part of our regular sprinter team while others will even get their chances in the mountains.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | Ingus Eislers | 77 | 68 | 67 | 59 | 76 | 76 | 74 | 59 | 80 | 76 | 64 | 62 | 59 | | Mark Dzamastagic | 78 | 66 | 70 | 65 | 76 | 72 | 76 | 66 | 76 | 78 | 78 | 66 | 65 | | Emils Liepins | 73 | 60 | 66 | 59 | 73 | 68 | 77 | 55 | 78 | 79 | 58 | 58 | 60 | | Armands Becis | 74 | 68 | 73 | 69 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 78 | 65 | 74 |
This group of four will sometimes support Van Stayen but they will surely get their chances to shine on their own too. They all can climb fairly well compared to other sprinters and some of them are amongst the best rouleurs / finisseurs too.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | | Gabriel Chavanne | 75 | 58 | 64 | 65 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 57 | 76 | 76 | 53 | 67 | 82 | | | Yannick Stoltz | 80 | 62 | 68 | 66 | 76 | 79 | 75 | 65 | 62 | 74 | 85 | 73 | 80 | |
Once again, labeling this duo as "only" prologue specialists feels insulting because their skill set makes them very valuable riders outside of prologs too but there are few riders in the world of cycling that can ride a short distance on his own as quickly as our duo can. Stoltz can use that ability as one of the premier rouleurs in the field while Chavanne can be a very solid leadout rider.
| | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | | Michael Van Stayen | 76 | 64 | 79 | 60 | 76 | 71 | 80 | 69 | 84 | 78 | 73 | 63 | 60 | | 4.100 | 32 | | Miguel Angel Lopez | 70 | 79 | 82 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 74 | 50 | 66 | 78 | 80 | 71 | 72 | | 4.100 | 26 | | Toms Skujins | 70 | 70 | 83 | 59 | 80 | 77 | 73 | 67 | 68 | 76 | 66 | 66 | 59 | | 4.100 | 29 | | Adam Blythe | 76 | 54 | 66 | 68 | 76 | 71 | 77 | 82 | 76 | 73 | 72 | 72 | 71 | | 4.100 | 31 | | Ingus Eislers | 77 | 68 | 67 | 59 | 76 | 76 | 74 | 59 | 80 | 76 | 64 | 62 | 59 | | 4.99 | 31 | | William Chiarello | 71 | 79 | 75 | 73 | 73 | 74 | 77 | 53 | 63 | 72 | 73 | 69 | 71 | | 4.100 | 29 | | Mark Dzamastagic | 78 | 66 | 70 | 65 | 76 | 72 | 76 | 66 | 76 | 78 | 78 | 66 | 65 | | 4.100 | 29 | | Serghei Tvetcov | 71 | 77 | 75 | 74 | 72 | 71 | 76 | 58 | 72 | 73 | 73 | 64 | 75 | | 4.100 | 32 | | Krists Neilands | 77 | 56 | 69 | 63 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 78 | 71 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 67 | | 4.100 | 26 | | Andris Vosekalns | 66 | 78 | 75 | 62 | 69 | 73 | 72 | 51 | 67 | 71 | 81 | 68 | 62 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Enric Mas | 69 | 76 | 75 | 68 | 73 | 73 | 75 | 56 | 60 | 75 | 71 | 69 | 68 | | 4.0 | 25 | | Emils Liepins | 73 | 60 | 66 | 59 | 73 | 68 | 77 | 55 | 78 | 79 | 58 | 58 | 60 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Martins Blums | 72 | 75 | 75 | 68 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 63 | 64 | 68 | 71 | 78 | 71 | | 4.65 | 25 | | Kaspars Sergis | 68 | 75 | 76 | 58 | 69 | 73 | 73 | 58 | 58 | 70 | 76 | 66 | 58 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Oscar Riesebeek | 74 | 70 | 73 | 67 | 73 | 75 | 69 | 73 | 69 | 72 | 76 | 71 | 71 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Andrei Sakalou | 66 | 76 | 75 | 65 | 63 | 72 | 72 | 54 | 60 | 72 | 77 | 62 | 65 | | 4.100 | 27 | | Nur Amirul Marzuki | 70 | 71 | 74 | 64 | 71 | 72 | 70 | 74 | 72 | 72 | 64 | 71 | 63 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Patrick Naud | 76 | 62 | 73 | 64 | 72 | 73 | 71 | 74 | 64 | 67 | 78 | 75 | 64 | | 4.100 | 29 | | Kristaps Budenieks | 69 | 73 | 74 | 63 | 70 | 74 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 73 | 74 | 72 | 61 | | 4.39 | 25 | | Armands Becis | 74 | 68 | 73 | 69 | 73 | 75 | 73 | 68 | 74 | 74 | 78 | 65 | 74 | | 4.100 | 29 | | Gabriel Chavanne | 75 | 58 | 64 | 65 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 57 | 76 | 76 | 53 | 67 | 82 | | 4.100 | 28 | | Yannick Stoltz | 80 | 62 | 68 | 66 | 76 | 79 | 75 | 65 | 62 | 74 | 85 | 73 | 80 | | 4.100 | 32 |

I really really like the tweaks and additions you made to an already very cool squad going into transfers, can't help but echo redordead, this team is absolutely stacked

Gazelle and Evonik presenting their rosters and you (aka me) looking at your (aka my) roster, with a mix of sadness and negative amusement sick MAL and overall just a sick collection of riders. Didn't check the PTHC bands too closely, but maybe I'm lucky and won't face you guys in all of my three bands after all

Gone are the days of Evonik not hiring stage racers? Just one rider makes so much difference in team-building eh?!
Incredible team and title contention is waiting this season for sure

redordead - you can help by not letting Beltran ride any PTHC races. HC races look so much cooler anyway. And maybe forget about wildcards too...
Jandal - Thank you Stacking the team as far as possible was definitely the plan so im very glad how good that worked out for me.
tsmoha - Bands 1, 4 and 5 for me. (Portugal, Cheshire and Balkans). I can echo your thoughts: Gazelles stage racing depth looks insane. And there is no need to feel sad about your roster as you have quite some collection of cool riders too, possibly some training as well and lits of young promising talent. Once you decide to go for it, your team will be stacked too!
abhishek - Not signing any stage racers was never a written rule for the team, we just never got those that we liked for prices we were willing to pay. There were multiple years where Taaramae was at the top of our wish list and we approached other stage racers too. Most important, this team still feels very Evonik-y to me. Thanks, we will see how good the team really is once the season is underway

Unfortunately HC races suck and PTHC are the only way to go
I'm pretty sure we'll clash at a certain home race of ours, but you don't have to worry about us causing any trouble in the wildcard races
