An amazing signing for minimum wage in Walls! Wish all free agency signings were that easy .
It was very easy - expected some opposition, so very happy with how it turned out
I've impressed myself with it!

A good number of riders for the future, and Doull will be a good helper

.:Transfer News:.
The GCN Racing Transfer update #2 and we are ready to reveal our new leaders on the roads for the 2020 season. One man for the sprints, and one man for when the hills appear on the horizon!
Kenji Itami | | 4.100 | € 160,000 | Star Sprinter
The first of our big signings and a man who will be going for stage wins in the sprints, we welcome Kenji to GCN from Rakuten Pro Cycling. Delivering 269 points, as his former team earned promotion to the PT Division last year, we have been able to snap up the 32 year old sprinter for € 750,000, and have delighted our GCN Japan fans with the purchase.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 75 | 63 | 61 | 63 | 71 | 67 | 78 | 64 | 80 | 82 | 50 | 53 | 63 |
Maurice Schreurs | | 4.100 | € 420,000 | Star Puncheur
If Kenji is our man for the Sprinter, then Maurice is our man for when the race profile gets lumpy and the hills appear in the race book. Signing from Bakkafrost for 650,000, we will be expecting the new Dutch Champion to add to 427 points from 2019 and show off the Tricolour NC jersey with pride.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 70 | 69 | 81 | 67 | 76 | 72 | 71 | 62 | 71 | 74 | 69 | 66 | 66 |
Deals are constantly being confirmed with the team, so do not expect this to be the last of our updates. Big things are to come with GCN Racing this season.

Stress-free and away from that relegation zone is all we are looking for. Hopefully these pair can do that. Thanks for the Walls bargain. His future renewals might have other ideas though.
Really happy with it and hoping he can be a big rider for us this season

.:Transfer News:.
Part 3 of our Transfer update, and we go back to the Free Agency for a pair of riders for hills and moutnains, and a nice British loan into the team.
Alex Dowsett | | 4.100 | € 90,000 | Puncheur
Alex is a man we welcome back into the GCN fold, having ridden for the team under the La Poste - Mavic banner. Back then, he left for pastures new, but now he comes back after being released from Andorra Cycling Project and will be wanting to make name for himself again. He will be the first to admit last year was not his best, but he is back with us, ready to support Schreurs and ride for himself as well.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 70 | 65 | 80 | 64 | 74 | 69 | 67 | 53 | 66 | 71 | 75 | 63 | 63 |
Jarlinson Pantano Gomez | | 4.100 | € 65,000 | Climber
Another signing from the Free Agency following their release by Andorra Cycling Project, Jarlinson will be our man in the Mountains this season. Signed when plans looked a lot differently with our GC line up, the Colombian climber will be leader when the road starts pointing upwards
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 66 | 79 | 71 | 54 | 73 | 74 | 74 | 51 | 50 | 68 | 63 | 68 | 54 |
Stephen Williams | | 3.15 | Loan | Climbing Domestique
Stephen is our first loanee of 2020, and joins us from our friends at cycleYorkshire. A man to support Pantano in the high Mountains, we are more than happy to assist with young Welshman's development as a rider.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 67 | 74 | 70 | 66 | 71 | 74 | 73 | 63 | 65 | 70 | 71 | 71 | 66 |
We have said goodbye to our first rider of this transfer period, however it is only for the next 12 months. Ryan Gibbons will be riding in the PT Division for Isostar-Specialized, as he finalising the final part of his development as a sprinter.
GCN Racing Management Team are still be announce many more deals over the coming days, so as always, keep watching this space.

.:Transfer News:.
The transfer keep on coming here at GCN Racing, with more and more riders being confirmed for the 2020 season.
Michael Matthews | | 4.100 | € 125,000 | Sprinter
Bling Matthews joins GCN Racing from MOL, as part of a swap deal involving Gaeten Bille. It is sad to see the Belgian leave after only 1 season back with us, but we fully expect Bling to perform well in the sprints for us.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 76 | 59 | 65 | 64 | 72 | 67 | 73 | 66 | 79 | 79 | 65 | 64 | 64 |
Jesse Sergent | | 4.100 | € 200,000 | Time Trialist
When deals for a GC rider or a top Cobbler fell through, attentions turned to finding a quality TT rider for the team and Jesse fits that bill perfectly. Signing for € 500,000 from Podium Ambition, the current Kiwi National Champion, he will be a big man for us in the flatter Stage Races were the TT stages will be key.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 79 | 65 | 69 | 80 | 69 | 74 | 71 | 53 | 61 | 51 | 70 | 59 | 80 |
Scott Thwaites | | 4.100 | € 112,000 | Classics
To say this was a long drawn out deal is very much an understatement, and we can only thank cycleYorkshire for their patience throughout. Signing for € 375,000, Scott will be a key man for the team in the Cobble Classics, where his combination of cobble and sprints stats could make him a big danger.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 73 | 59 | 65 | 61 | 74 | 70 | 76 | 76 | 78 | 76 | 60 | 70 | 61 |
We hope that our next transfer update will be our last of this season, as the final team takes shape. Watch this space!

This is a strong transfer season for you imo. You added lots of possible point scorers on multiple terrains and look fine for the season.

Very handy trio of signings there, should all bring something to the team's points total!

I really like the Sergent signing, should do well.
I hope we can both stay up in PCT, despite our squads having quite a few similarities

I really hope so - all major additions to the squad have been better than those in the role last season, and a lot stronger than when we were last in PCT

Our final update of the Transfers for GCN Racing - I promise! As you can see there has been a lot of activity within the team, and the final 4 riders to be announced complete the team perfectly.
Mikel Landa | | 4.100 | € 50,000 | Puncheur
A very cheap key domestique was needed, we jumped at the chance to bring on Mikel from the Free Agency. Released from Desigual during the 2020 Renewals, the Basque rider will be here to support Maurice and Alex during the season.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 65 | 69 | 78 | 57 | 70 | 69 | 70 | 50 | 61 | 69 | 74 | 67 | 57 |
Michael Vingerling | | 4.100 | € 50,000 | Lead-Out man
Another signing with the words 'Domestique' written on him, Michael will be a key lead out man to Mohs and Itami during the GCN 2020 season. Another man released during renewals, this time from the former Equinor Pro Cycling, we happy to have brought him in for a minimum wage.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 71 | 55 | 62 | 65 | 72 | 66 | 76 | 68 | 79 | 79 | 57 | 68 | 76 |
John Archibald | | 4.100 | € 50,000 | Time Trialist
A man brought into the fold late in transfers, John will fill the TT gap left by Stef Krul, who is off to the PT on loan this season. A competent rider against the clock, John will be a great asset to the team on the flatter stages of the MG calendar.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 70 | 61 | 64 | 76 | 69 | 72 | 62 | 55 | 60 | 67 | 64 | 55 | 75 |
Felix Gall | | 1.00 | LOAN | Future Prospect
Coming in on loan from EA Vesuvio, Felix will spend a year with the team, learning the ropes of the professional peleton. Happy to tak him under our wing, and aid his development towards being a future star in the peleton.
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CO | SP | AC | FT | DH | PR | 2020 stats | 66 | 68 | 68 | 62 | 67 | 67 | 65 | 58 | 61 | 65 | 62 | 63 | 61 |
Away from those coming into the team, we say a temporary goodbye to Stef Krul and Oumaru Minoungou, who joins Moser - Sygic and Project; Africa respectively on loan for 2020. Stef will use the time to continue his development, whilst Oumaru will be given the time to ride for himself on an African team in the CT Cobbles.
And it is also with a heavy heart we say goodbye to our great French climber, Thibaut Pinot! The man, who has been with us since our first season in PCT, and the main reason why we promoted last season has left to join Project: Africa and be their main threat in the Mountains. He will be greatly missed, and thanks for the memories!

I think in one of your earlier posts you mentioned wanting to avoid relegation. I actually think this team could be capable of pushing for promotion. Of course sprinters are the hardest to plan, and often have random results, but with good planning you have some solid point scorers for sure. Your hill squad looks very deep for PCT.

I think promotion is a big shout, but I love that confidence from you. I think the signings should secure us for another season in PCT. I think this is the strongest team I have ever assembled, so just got to plan them right now... Itami will be fun, and I think he is well backed up with Matthews and Vingerling now.
Fingers crossed that the new hilly profiles will suit Schreurs and maybe even Dowsett...

.:NC Jersey Reveal:.
With transfers done and dusted, the jersey makers at Castelli got to work creating the Nation Champions for three of your riders.
Clenne Morvan Moulingui - Gabonese RR Champion
Maurice Schreurs - Dutch RR Champion
Jesse Sergent - Kiwi TT Champion
The Nat Champs jersey had already been revealed for Clenne Morvan but after consultation with him, he wanted something a big more bright and will stand out when he attacks the cobbles. We were more than happy to oblige.
Maurice will be sporting the classic Dutch tricolor, whilst Jesse will be the Man in Black when he hits the roads on his TT bike this season.
