That they try to make the Tour possible is fine I guess, risky but understandable this year.
But I don't understand that they allow all those spectators there in times where France has like 9000 new cases a day...obviously not as easy to forbid it all, but the masses that went up there and were super close to each other will to 100% guaranteed lead to more infections, which for me would have been enough reason to stop all this.
For me in the upcoming stages it would be absolutely needed to avoid having scenes like today. Not only for the safety of the riders but the safety of all of them.
Like this I simply can't enjoy the Tour a lot despite seeing some great fights from some. |

Absolutelly insane time by Pogacar on the Peyresourde. I know they didn't start the climb exactly at the same point as usual, but still... Ridicolous |

I was thinking this all stage as well. The commentators kept saying how great it was to see all the fans. And I mean, I wish it was a great sight for me too, but it's very bizarre and worrying actually. Having thousands of people crowded together wearing masks on their chin does not seem like a recipe for long term safety here. It seems like the race and spectators are just going on as normal. Unfortunately, things are not normal. It's very worrying.

Wonder if Guillaume Martin might get to build up some hype? Cofidis as a team and espcially sponsor has been supporting cycling for so long, I would like to see them finally getting a big payout. If Martin would be played by cunego, I would bet some thousand euros on a tdf win of him at this point

another thing, jumbo visma train collapsed quite fast in the end. it could turn out to be an open tour de france after all with some good excitement. i have my fingers crossed that we finally get a good tour again...

Are you trying to tell me humans haven't simply biologically evolved enough in that last two decades to destroy records from the height of the EPO era while clean? Nonsense.
At these point I just don't believe in clean cycling. I think every team/rider is at least pushing boundaries if not explicitly breaking rules. I don't think that will every change. As much as it sucks, it is what it is. Doesn't mean Pogocar isn't also extremely talented.

I couldn't agree more. What an absolute lack of respect. Having spectators is great but with these many people shouting at riders in close distance, a good deal of them with masks on their chins gives me a heartburn.

Actually in 2003 they did the full climb from Luchon ( cause they did Portillon before and not Bales ). And the stage was also harder. But still, 45 seconds from the intersection with Bales? Ridiculous.

He'd have 3 minutes on the rest and two stage wins by now

The amount of times I've been saying to myself "Dauphiné form Kämna would've...Dauphiné form Kämna could've..." this TdF.

Interesting to learn that Hirschi is managed by the one and only Fabian Cancellara. Really doing a Spartacus today. |

Is this guy really going to win with a 100km solo attack, holding off a TdF peloton? What db is this?

what is this stage man.
Pinot attacks, basically delivers teammates in the botd, drops to minutes behind the front and is now back inot the peloton?
