Hehe
I feel like 1&1 would have been tough to convince to keep my team colors anyway.

All I see is someone intimitated by the prospect of not being the strongest Baltic team in a couple years. Makes sense you were trying to slowly transition into not being Baltic at all, considering the writing is on the wall already...but Videika may help you slow down the bleeding.

As if your team is 100% Baltic anyway - only 5 riders from your team (accounting for less than 30%) are from the Baltic region. Knockout has 9 Latvians in a 23-rider roster - or 40% of the roster. Therefore, I'm siding with knockout on the dispute who is more Baltic oriented.
And I'm pretty sure that the ManGame had a rule regarding mocking or poking fun of competitiors - this is the third manager you've made fun of (I haven't forgot how you were mocking me and my team). The punishment could be severe and could even lead to expulsion from the MGUCI. Just sayin'.

When teams come from disappointing seasons, they often look forward to seeing how strong their talents will be in the next year while others moan their beloved star riders that will never be as strong again as they just were. This is the point in time where teams like to brag about the quality of their talents or at least the quantity of them. We've got a bit of both so here are all the Evonik guys that are expected to be on a different level of performance next year:
Ahmed Youssef Belgasem | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 71 | 74 | 73 | 69 | 69 | 71 | 70 | 71 | 70 | 71 | 65 | 58 | 71 | | 4.100 | 32 | 2020 | 70 | 73 | 72 | 68 | 67 | 69 | 68 | 70 | 69 | 69 | 64 | 57 | 70 | | 4.100 | 33 |
Belgasem is the only rider in our squad who was already 32 years old (or older) and is the only one who will decline after this season. He was a very versatile domestique for the one year in our team but it was clear from the beginning that he wont get a contract renewal from us. We hope that he will find another team for the next season - perhaps the amateur team Signal Iduna might have interest?
Dries De Bondt | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 74 | 62 | 67 | 57 | 71 | 69 | 67 | 71 | 72 | 74 | 76 | 61 | 57 | | 4.72 | 28 | 2020 | 76 | 62 | 67 | 57 | 72 | 69 | 68 | 72 | 74 | 76 | 76 | 61 | 57 | | 4.100 | 29 |
Signed as one of our latest signings in the 2019 transfers, Dries had room to develop into a solid domestique for flat and cobbled races. One year later and he is finally good enough that we can trust him as a full-time member of our classics team - although he might also be available for a transfer deal.
Tomas Paprstka | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 73 | 62 | 69 | 62 | 72 | 69 | 67 | 73 | 68 | 72 | 69 | 78 | 63 | | 4.0 | 27 | 2020 | 75 | 62 | 69 | 62 | 74 | 70 | 68 | 75 | 70 | 72 | 69 | 78 | 63 | | 4.100 | 28 |
Paprstka was also signed prior to the 2019 season and is another member of our future cobbles squad. A terrific bike handler, lots of power for long flat roads and not scared of smaller hills: He has everything you need for a good cobbles domestique.
Kristaps Budenieks | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 69 | 71 | 72 | 63 | 69 | 73 | 69 | 70 | 69 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 61 | | 3.99 | 24 | 2020 | 69 | 73 | 74 | 63 | 70 | 74 | 71 | 70 | 69 | 73 | 74 | 72 | 61 | | 4.39 | 25 | 2021 | 69 | 75 | 75 | 63 | 70 | 75 | 72 | 70 | 69 | 74 | 75 | 72 | 61 | | 4.100 | 26 |
Last season, Kristaps was not deemed ready to help us in PT so he was loaned to SPAR - Siam Cement who rode in *checks notes* the PT. He is the direct replacement to Belgasem as a capable domestique on all terrains - from the highest mountains to the nastiest cobbles. He has absolutely no weakness - unless you are one of those 21 weird PT managers that think TT is an important skill to have. He is expected to further improve next season.
Martins Blums | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 71 | 72 | 72 | 67 | 69 | 71 | 70 | 63 | 64 | 66 | 68 | 77 | 70 | | 3.99 | 24 | 2020 | 72 | 75 | 75 | 68 | 70 | 72 | 72 | 63 | 64 | 68 | 71 | 78 | 71 | | 4.65 | 25 | 2021 | 72 | 77 | 77 | 68 | 70 | 73 | 74 | 63 | 64 | 70 | 74 | 78 | 70 | | 4.100 | 26 |
Former mountainbiker Martins Blums is one of the most promising baltic climbers who has made huge improvements while out on loan at Valio where he won the 2019 Loan-in of the Year p/b Evonik award*. He will be a huge help for our uphill leaders and might also contribute a bit with attacks.
*not yet officially announced
Krists Neilands | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 75 | 56 | 68 | 63 | 72 | 71 | 69 | 76 | 69 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 67 | | 4.60 | 25 | 2020 | 77 | 56 | 69 | 63 | 74 | 73 | 70 | 78 | 71 | 67 | 63 | 71 | 67 | | 4.100 | 26 |
Krists Neilands is probably the most promising cobbles prospect in the history of Latvian cycling. He made another big step forward this offseason and will probably be lieutenant to Adam Blythe - if Blythe stays with the team. He also provides huge power for our echelon force for flat races.
Ingus Eislers | FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 75 | 67 | 66 | 59 | 74 | 75 | 72 | 57 | 77 | 74 | 64 | 61 | 59 | | 3.94 | 30 | 2020 | 77 | 68 | 67 | 59 | 76 | 76 | 74 | 59 | 80 | 76 | 64 | 62 | 59 | | 4.99 | 31 | 2021 | 79 | 68 | 67 | 59 | 78 | 77 | 75 | 60 | 82 | 78 | 64 | 62 | 59 | | 4.100 | 32 |
One of the rare bloomers in the cycling world - he wasnt seen as a high potential rider for a long time till he joined our team. He might not have as much time in his prime left as some of the other top sprint prospects but he as a truly unique skill set with his incredible power on the flat and fantastic resistance. Whether he will go stage hunting on his own or be part of the sprint train for Michael Van Stayen is unclear as of now.
Miguel Angel Lopez
| FL | MO | HI | TT | ST | RS | RC | CB | SP | AC | FG | DH | PR | | XP | Age | 2019 | 69 | 78 | 79 | 70 | 74 | 73 | 73 | 50 | 65 | 76 | 78 | 70 | 71 | | 4.0 | 25 | 2020 | 70 | 79 | 82 | 71 | 76 | 74 | 74 | 50 | 66 | 78 | 80 | 71 | 72 | | 4.100 | 26 |
Not for sale. |

The 'talents' (if you can call a 31 year old rider that) got better as I scrolled down that list. MAL is going to be a lot of fun to follow

MAL is a solid enough reason for me to never have ambitions to promote - I don't want Bennett, Areruya or Higuita to find out he exists

Good transfer season, bad transfer season, relegation, title challenge or rebuild? Every team's (transfer) season is built on the foundation that is built during renewals. Unsurprisingly, we also renewed a couple of riders. 3 of the 25 riders that rode for Evonik in 2019 or were loaned out, were not offered a new contract: Ahmed Youssef Belgasem turned 33 this year and team management doubted that he still can play a role after the resulting decline due to his higher age. Jan Oelerich(32) is a versatile classics domestique but the team management didnt value him enough to pay a renewals fine. Indulis Bekmanis(31) was one of the most loyal riders in the history of Evonik who had a contract with Evonik in all six seasons since the team was founded in 2014. He is now looking for a new adventure and tests the open market to see if there is interest from elsewhere.
Everyone else came to an agreement with us:
| | 2019 | 2020 | | | Michael Van Stayen | € 810.000 | € 695.000 | - 115.000 | | Miguel Angel Lopez | € 300.000 | € 550.000 | + 250.000 | | Toms Skujins | € 575.000 | € 510.000 | - 65.000 | | Adam Blythe | € 480.000 | € 380.000 | - 100.000 | | Ingus Eislers | € 130.000 | € 150.000 | + 20.000 | | Mark Dzamastagic | € 100.000 | € 140.000 | + 40.000 | | Arvin Moazemi | € 110.000 | € 110.000 | +/- 0 | | Krists Neilands | € 50.000 | € 100.000 | + 50.000 | | Andris Vosekalns | € 94.000 | € 105.000 | + 11.000 | | Andris Smirnovs | € 120.000 | € 65.000 | - 55.000 | | Emils Liepins | € 65.000 | € 75.000 | + 10.000 | | Martins Blums | € 50.000 | € 70.000 | + 20.000 | | Kaspars Sergis | € 50.000 | € 70.000 | + 20.000 | | Oscar Riesebeek | € 50.000 | € 60.000 | + 10.000 | | Andrei Sakalou | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Mike Aaron Egger | € 60.000 | € 50.000 | - 10.000 | | Kristaps Budenieks | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Tomas Paprstka | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Armands Becis | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Sven Nooytens | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Yannick Stoltz | € 80.000 | € 60.000 | - 20.000 | | Dries De Bondt | € 50.000 | € 50.000 | +/- 0 | | Indulis Bekmanis | € 60.000 | € 0 | - 60.000 | | Jan Oelerich | € 50.000 | € 0 | - 50.000 | | Ahmed Youssef Belgasem | € 50.000 | € 0 | - 50.000 | | | € 3.584.000 | € 3.490.000 | - 94.000 |
Our three leaders from last season all agreed that the drop in the PT rankings was partly due to their performances that didnt match the expectations and accepted team friendly contracts. Combined with some wage rises for talents like Lopez that leaves us with 10.000 in cap space.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Watch knockout make the stagiare bargain of the decade!
Obviously I can't be happy with MVS making 5k less than Demare, although only one of them won green in Paris this season after all
Surely MAL will get used to wage increases as he becomes your main focus, I assume you really wish you could train him this season already and literally be done with transfers with a single transaction to call it a day and watch the frenzy unfold from your deck chair.

abhishek: Sounds like i have enough cap space already for a new TT captain...
redordead: So what you are saying is that you expect to have enough transfer cash to finance the next five years of Lopez' training?

Availability Post / Looking for pen pals
Transfers upcoming? Availability lists are the hottest shit. Are they outdated 5 minutes into transfers? Sure. But everyone likes reading them so here we go.
Last name | Last name | First name | Wage | Availability | | Van Stayen | Michael | € 695.000 | ●● | | Lopez | Miguel Angel | € 550.000 | | | Skujins | Toms | € 510.000 | ●● | | Blythe | Adam | € 380.000 | ●● | | Eislers | Ingus | € 150.000 | ● | | Dzamastagic | Mark | € 140.000 | | | Moazemi | Arvin | € 110.000 | ●●●●● | | Neilands | Krists | € 100.000 | ● | | Vosekalns | Andris | € 105.000 | ● | | Smirnovs | Andris | € 65.000 | ●●●● | | Liepins | Emils | € 75.000 | ●● | | Blums | Martins | € 70.000 | ● | | Sergis | Kaspars | € 70.000 | ●● | | Riesebeek | Oscar | € 60.000 | ●● | | Sakalou | Andrei | € 50.000 | ●●● | | Egger | Mike Aaron | € 50.000 | ●●●● | | Budenieks | Kristaps | € 50.000 | ●● | | Paprstka | Tomas | € 50.000 | ●●●● | | Becis | Armands | € 50.000 | ●●● | | Nooytens | Sven | € 50.000 | ●●●●● | | Stoltz | Yannick | € 60.000 | ● | | De Bondt | Dries | € 50.000 | ●●●●● |
It is expected that we keep Blythe / Skujins / Van Stayen but if you can convince us with a fantastic offer you might change my mind. We are looking to possibly sell a couple of our low wage bargains so if you are looking for some guys with fantastic stats for low wages, we are your seller.
That said, dont be afraid of talking to us if anyone not named Lopez fancies you. We appreciate any idea or talk about possible later developments.
