Guess the organisers will have some explaining to do tonight.
It all smacks of corners being cut in order to the the season back up and running in such a short space of time. No excuses for a monument to have cars driving onto the course in the last 5k of a race.
They seem to have spent so much time worrying about their Covid compliance that they've forgotten about the very basics of marking out dangers and making sure the roads are closed.

I didn't know he broke his collarbone. I assumed he was fine because he got up and continued right away. |

Evenepoel crash looked really bad, almost a relief he got out with "just" a fractured pelvis.

I hope this won't influence Remco career, physically and mentally.
Nibali has crazy downhill skills, for Evenepoel was really hard for sure to follow his pace. He paid his lack of bike handling, considered he is riding just from few years.
That was a scary crash, I felt he got much more damage at the moment it happened.

As for the winner Fuglsang without doubt one of the most stylish and strongest looking riders on a bike and imo needs at least one more monument which would be a LBL or Lombardia again to do justice to his talent.
GT podium would be nice, but it is unlikely given his track record.

I agree, seems like that's where he will have to do his training the most - staying on the bike. Glad that it is only a fractured pelvis, looked indeed much worse. Falling off a bridge...jeez

This was a good race. Would have been even more exciting had Eurosport showed us the Sormano climb instead of the boring Dauphine stage (yesterday). Congrats to Fuglsang. Hopefully Evenepoel is good.
