I was in a local game store today and saw the PS4 version of TDF 19 on the shelf for 10 bucks. I picked it up and I'll check it out now. I haven't had one since 14.

I was really shocked to see it there, as I've never seen any PCM or TDF stuff in the U.S. before. When I've gotten physical copies before, I always had to have them imported, and as far as I know, you can't buy the games on the North American PlayStation Store.

So while the quality and sales of the game might be decreasing in some regards, it was pretty cool to see the game entering a new market. And it was more affordable here too. 10 year old me would have been so excited seeing that on the shelf, a literal dream come true. Hopefully some kid will see that now and get into cycling through it, although with digital distribution, it's probably less likely.

The games are available on the US North American region PS Store. I have considered buying one but I still to this day have never played a console version of the game.

2019 version is $39.99 right now on the store. How is it? I typically play the games for trophies and looking through them they look like they might be pretty difficult.

I'll let you know when I've played enough to judge. 2014 was actually too easy iirc, so we'll see how it translates.

If you're gonna get any, I'd definitely look for a used physical copy near you. I got it for $9.99 at Gamestop, barely a year old. Digital games don't depreciate as quickly.

To whom it may concern:

We had a storm here last Tuesday that knocked out the power. I got that back late Friday night, but I'm still without internet. Unfortunately, this also coincided with my phone not working, so I've been unplugged completely. I'm currently on a family member's hot spot.

I realize a lot has gone down in the last few days, and I'm sorry I haven't been as involved as I'd like to. I'm hoping this will be fixed ASAP and I can react to the end of the MG season and do what is required of me. I never want to be the guy holding things up.

Welcome back! Smile

I took some inspiration from your team last season as I was able to survive my 1st season in PCT by spending 1M in wages on a single rider Pfft

Some personal news: I have put in my two-week notice and resigned from my current sports editor position at the North Dakota newspaper I've been at for four-plus years. It was a great run. But new management came in and basically made my job impossible — at least to my standards. It was like getting punched in the gut every week for three months straight until I finally had enough.

I'm heading back home to Michigan. I currently landed a remote part-time freelance editing job which I just started. Seems great so far, but won't pay the bills completely. So I'm either looking for another part-time gig to hold me over, another full-time job or I'm thinking about going to graduate school to possibly get a master's degree. I have a decent, not amazing, safety net money wise so I can afford to take some risks.

What does that mean for PCM.Daily? Well, I'll be moving in three weeks for 3-5 days so I fear that might line up with the Man-Game transfer season. I'll do my best to pop in and out but might need some admin help in the process.

I'd also like to start Diamond in the Rough back up again, I just haven't had the time with how my current job has been. So, I guess I'll have more time again once I'm just part-time and looking for my next opportunity. No guarantees, but I still enjoy writing the story. Very hard to find time for it.

I probably shared too much, but I know a lot of the long-time members here know about IRL journey and I wanted to keep everybody in the loop.

Cheers, Mre. Smile

I remember you posting when you started that job, sounds like it was good for a while. I know too may people who have made themselves miserable hanging on at a job where management won't let them succeed. So good call to get out of there before they made you literally crazy.

Good luck on the next steps. A lot of uncertainty right now, might be a good time to go back to school if you can afford it.

Excited that Diamond in the Rough might be making a return. Too bad about the job. I've never had a job where new management improved my enthusiasm for working, strangely enough, so I can empathize with that.

As for jobs, you could perhaps try looking at the subreddit beermoney (i believe its called). I had a look at it earlier in the summer as I wasn't having luck finding a job for the summer due to COVID and it has some decent ways to earn an extra $100-$300 a month. I know you can also get paid for transcribing things remotely and at your own pace, and working as an editor I'd assume you are fairly good at typing.

Inspired by the pursuit format of nordic sports like Biathlon, I had the idea of something similar for cycling. Say you do the last stage of the Tour de France as a 30km or so individual time trial, but instead of starting in regular intervals from last to first, the GC leader would start first with all other riders following with the exact time differences they have in the GC. So on this hypothetical stage 21, this year Pogacar would start first, Roglic 59 seconds later, Porte 3'30 after Pogacar and so forth. And then the order they cross the line in is the final GC.

Obviously, this is a weird idea that's never going to actually be implemented (which is why it's in this thread), but I still wanted to get some of you thoughts on it Grin I think it could be arguably more exciting than a regular time trial, with tough one on one battles and a better visualisation of the current "virtual" GC. But it would also probably favor riders with a quick finish, who could just try to hang on in the slipstream of better time trialists overtaking them. I don't know, just a thought experiment I guess ^^

Ripley
The sprinters would be rather unhappy. In this Tour, the ITT on stage 20 would have been perfect for your idea. Especially as slipstream wouldn't have played that much of a role. Would be a very short stage time-wise.

maybe it can work on a uphill TT without flat sections, this can be really curious to watch

Shonak
Maybe as an mountain epilogue, but the slipstream would make it on a normal route completely absurd. It could also favour opponents with strong teams since riders could potentially look to start close by each other and gain an advantage. On the other hand it would make it strategically intruiging.
