Would be surprised if the rule was made just for Avenir, and it is no matter what a rule that contributes to status inflation.

No, it's not just for Avenir, the restrictions are precisely to fight status inflation. A "Padun case" wouldn't be possible with the current rules, as he would now need another year to reach the same level. Previously, younger riders could be added, and anyone could make the 1->3 development. Both the age limit and the 2-step development have been restricted since. Of course, it could still lead to stat inflation, but definitely less so than without the restrictions.
Personally, I think the 1->3 development shouldn't be removed, as it would make young riders more unattractive. And it's a good opportunity for CT teams to gain some money

Indeed I do believe it's fixed now. Last year we had a good competitive Avenir, the year before was a joke with Herklotz just dominating. This year will unfortunately be another boring edition with the winner already known.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ya...ok did not think about the possible income CT teams can make from this.

Almost as if we design new additions for their end result and how they fit into the actual game, with Avenir just being a fun extra to take minimal effort and not really impact the main game.
There's always ups and downs, and not just in GC. We've seen dominant punchers, tt's, sprinters etc at various times. And in a race purely for the bonus XP and general novelty, who cares if it goes up and down?

Well, riders are now usually added to the game at 22 years old iirc. They are allowed to make that 1->3 development, so they can do their first Avenir with level 1, and the second one with level 3.
If riders are added at 21 years old, they are already forbidden to do the 1->3 step, so it shouldn't happen any more that level 4 riders participate in Avenir.
Riders with less than 21 years aren't added to the game.
Correct me if I'm wrong
You are completely correct. Those rules are just still fairly new, and we've been weeding out the last remnants of the previous system who were added younger and allowed to level up more. After this year it should only be Aidan Van Niekerk, and then this will be impossible with the DB.

Well, it's not just Avenir, it would also heavily impact the U25 standings if certain riders can be capped a year before the others. Ok, this is better than the Herklotz year, but it would be nice if these things can be a bit competitive, like last year.
Also, I like Avenir

Also, I am personally happy with whatever reporting pace is done for any races. I'm gonna see the reports within 15 minutes of them being posted anyway as long as I'm awake. I've had a habit of compulsively checking Daily for about a decade now.

As has already been said, the issue has been fixed by preventing riders being added who are too good, too young, moving forwards. With new additions currently being worked on, we're taking the approach that 1998 riders can start no higher than Level 1, with the maximum starting level increasing as their year of birth increases - 1994 riders are the youngest who will be added at maxed stats.
Similarly, the rule for this year that 1998 riders can only go 1-2 in a season is part of this. We're not planning to add any riders from 1999 next season currently due to the lack of racing this season, so hopefully we shouldn't have many more examples of Level 4 riders in Avenir after this year. |

And I'll like it even more the one after that
Although getting to field my own Full squad this year is really cool, even if none of them are ready to challenge on their terrains.

Biggest goal is to get the prologue win, obviously. Luck will be needed, but Scotson at least should have a good chance for a podium.
Didn't know that Evans actually is amongst those, who may do something in the mountains. Apparently not a favorite, but maybe he can lose time earlier, just to attack in the climbs

It feels weird actually having some good riders to cheer for in this race with loaned in youngster Barta and our developing project Errazkin. Should be fun!

Dammit! I mean I agree, but waiting another year would have been nice for me
