Thanks for the kind words concerning the reports. But honestly, I'm really amazed by guys like jph who deliver one report after the other, reporting tons of races, whereas I just take one here and there. Of course it may be cool for you to get really lengthy reports from time to time, but it's not people like me who keep the game going. Personally, I like these comprehensive reports, that's why I do them like this, too. And of course, I'm happy if the outcome is appreciated, as are all reporters
And yeah, I knew some of you wouldn't be happy at all with how the puncheurs did. But it was mainly an issue of bad positioning, not of missing climbing skills; else, we wouldn't have Houle and Van der Lijke up front Of course, it's still not cool that the game treated the climbers much better here. But I was really surprised to see the time gaps in the result, that doesn't happen too often on flat stages...

Too bad Oomen was on the wrong side of the split, but GC wise all is good at the moment.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Overall, very happy with this stage!
Great to see Vendrame, Daniel, Vichot and finally Stuyven all active, trying to get into the early break. Looked like Stuyven didn’t have the best of days, but nevertheless nice to see him active for a change. Shame he couldn’t grab that last point to take the KoM jersey, but hopefully there will be more opportunities to add to the tally later.
Brilliant from Gallopin on the final climb as well, keeping both himself and Kreder well out of trouble. Some questionable tactics in the sprint, but sprinting down van der Lijke, Houle and Coutinho would have been a big ask of Kreder either way. Cool to have three riders in the top 10, though.
Thanks for another great report!

Houle! What a sprint, coming from behind like that, and then a nailbiter in the end as Van der Lijke started to come back!
Obviously couldn't have asked for more from this stage, Houle taking yellow and the stage and Bennett staying with his rivals - even have Areruya picking up some points in the U25 classification, he's obviously not at all the favourite there to keep a podium but if he can that would be nice, though (as Venter ended up doing today) his first job is to Bennett and he may lose time compared to Oomen, Padun et al there.
And as well as others have said fantastic report Fabianski, really loved it and super hyped for the rest of the race!

I don't think any team has ever worked harder for a 143rd place on a stage, I have no idea what the boys were thinking but at least they got plenty of TV time.
Maybe they will achieve that by going in the break next time.

Well back to reality. Really need to get into breaks if we're to get anything out of this race. Don't understand why none of our riders seem to make it most of the time.
Congrats jandal

We're not here ourselves, but some important PT competitors are. So will be following closely. Nice reporting so far.

Loving the reports so far! Disappointed that Lander couldn't get anything out of Stage 2, but at least Monsalve was attentive and stayed out of trouble. Carthy and McCarthy losing time should hopefully make them go in breaks, but looks like Carthy has already lost his chances of a GC top 10 and a shot at the U25 classification. |

These reports are going to be soo fun further into the race! Happy Meintjes hasn't lost time and is already high in the GC. Just hope some stage results will follow.

Well, okay, Modolo advancing a bit in GC, may be a decent race for us after all. Looking very forward to see how the race developes in a few stages. Thanks yet again Fabianski |

Ahh seriously Houle? No idea what was going on there to have him so far back, even worse than yesterday and it showed, despite his amazing form and one of the fastest sprints I've seen him do he was too far back and couldn't double up which is quite frustrating - though there's nobody I'd rather lose to here than Te Brake, sending those congratulations right back at you Abhi
Hopefully Houle can get back to winning ways tomorrow before we get to the GC stuff. Glad Bennett has had a stress-free time so far, hope it continues Slightly annoying Areruya lost a spot in the U25 to De Plus due to that split though

I'm marvelling how do you manage with that titanic work? Lot of screenshots, vast sea of text descriptions and statistics, even sprinters disposition before the finish line...
Let's save the history of PCM together!
Just write me a PM if you have something for old PCM Editions (from 2005 to 2014) - databases, stages, shirts etc. and we'll share it.

We really need to understand that the racing is underway. At least we can only do better going forward in this race
Congratulations on the win, Abhi! Philips starting the comeback, ranking wise? |

I love that my team tries something. I have no idea what it was though
I love the winners list here though. Houle and Philips on the list of honors is amazing

Well we actually contested the sprint, and looked good for a while there so that's a big improvement. I honestly thought Sallah was going to prove best leadout instead of winning himself there but as top 10's are kinda rare from him this year I'll take it.

I think that's a job well done from one rider on the startlist! That's also a nearly 1100% increase in points from what Te Brake had prior to this stage! That's also only our second (or third?) win of any kind all season!
Decent work from Gibbons in the break but it probably should be someone stronger joining the breaks in the coming stages. Not sure what happened to Bardet but this is as good a chance as any for him to go after the KOM standings. Hope that happens as we really need it.
Thanks for the congrats and thanks for the lovely reports Fabianski
