I was definitely hoping for Freuler to have a better day than he obviously had, but 13th in the GC means our goal (Top 15) is still within reach - maybe even a Top 10.
Our most feared stage is over, let's attack now!

Masaki Yamamoto 2nd in U25, not bad, might just be enough to get a contract for next year.

Sergio Godoy is doing his best to keep interest high for WCC and his home fans here in Argentina. The TT didn't do him many favours today, hopefully he has good legs for the return of the slopes tomorrow which have the potential to be decisive - pushing back into the top 20 on GC is the main target. WCC jersey popping up in the breaks is always appreciated, and a handy TT performance by Hojgaard today; he reports that the temperatures he is experiencing are quite a shock to the system having travelled directly from his Faroese home

A great stage for the team there! Robert winning TTs is always good to see as you have to question his back-up stats but he does the job here.
And, as hoped, Costa puts in a great ride to take the GC lead. He's going to have a battle on his hands to keep it but we're in prime position here so we'll hope he maintains his form and that the team steps up their efforts to hold onto the lead.

Reus self destructed and Siskevicius decided that he needed to jump up to 90th in GC. Ill take the points but its still garbage compared to what couldve been. Should score a decent amount of points in the end but still

Definitely too much climbing for Freuler, but he did still really well, even getting into the GC Top 10. That would be more what we had expected beforehand, but now it must be the clear goal to defend this position! Tomorrow's stage should actually suit him better, with many shorter climbs to take.
Furthermore, I finally expect some breakaway action. Thièry and especially Pellaud are now definitely far enough away from being dangerous, so I really hope at least one of them can sneak into the BotD and collect a lot of KoM points. But I'm afraid that won't work out...

Well we can't complain with that at all! Costa looks even better for the GC lead and takes 3rd on the stage while young talent Paez, who must have put in a shift earlier on, still finishes fast for 6th and takes the lead in the Youth.

Costa for once showing up this season, which was quite disappointing so far while Chaves remains a questionmark for some reason. Might need to check his stats closer when having the DB open as main stats should see him stronger clearly.
Still Azteca scoring some depth here instead of big points, which will see them still going strong. |

We need to attack these stages. The passivity will only lead us to get nothing at all... We keep dropping in the GC from 5th to 9th to 14th. Not exactly ideal when we have a number of riders that should do very well on these sort of terrains.
Just one more stage to show that we can climb the GC, get a top stage result and/or attend the KOM battle. We need either Bagot, Belmokhtar or Yemane to be in the break on the upcoming stage, otherwise this will turn out to be pretty uninteresting for us.
Porsev obviously have another shot in the final stage, but we can't exactly count on him getting a win here.

Well, that was the WTF stage we have in almost all our races. No attacks, and the team leader losing some spots. Great work, boys... A stage to forget, definitely.

Good news, Siskevicius is in top 70. Extra points and third in green wont hurt though

Attack from both Yemane and Bagot was brilliant, and we’ll happily accept 2nd on the stage. Bagot climbs decently in the GC too... too bad he wasn’t allowed to break into the top 10 though.
If Porsev can finish well here we got what we came for.

Great job by Harper to be active on so many days and secure himself a jersey! Obviously the only special thing that we can get from those races (except of lucky stage wins), so "job done" for San Luis!

Zielser and Godoy both must have had good days to finish in the front group today. Sucks that the team seems to have stopped attacking in the second half of the race though.

Chaves finally shows what he really can do, but bad overall as he simply was too passive letting the TT which he isn't very strong in dictate too much of the overall GC. Needed a much more aggressive tone from day one which we never really got outside of one Squire attack that didn't do much.
Thanks for the report, rough start to a busy month for us.

Not the most exciting stage GC wise but exactly what we needed really. Costa with another Top 10 stage finish and maintaining his GC lead with relative ease. Nothing stupid on the final stage now.

Venter and Bazhkou continue to swap who is good and who is awful day by day. Would be interested to see where a rider who finished with the better of the two each day would have ended up on GC. Awful race for us. Our best rider ended up being Habtemichael riding for McCormick with a few breaks. Hopefully we can salvage something from a break or Habtom tomorrow.

Another fine race for him and the team - 3 breakaways for him and I think McCormick were in the breaks every day. I thought for a while he would hang on ahead of the peloton and get the top 10 his season long efforts deserve.

another good effort from the team, with two riders in the breakaway, but sadly fell back in U25 and we need a lot of luck at the last stage to get into a better KoM position.
Thanks for the report
