I guess it's more or less the same story as every year. They say there's been no revolution, just minor improvements (if they really are...). They're talking about a career home screen that should be clearer yet more complete, the riders' mood having an impact on their performance, or a calendar assistant.
For TdF, there's less strategy but a new camera view, and more races on offer.
What may be promising for the future is that the numbers of players has multiplied by 4 since confinement started, so hopefully they've got some more resources to work on really new features.
In terms of AI, they say they do listen to players' feedback (e.g. via Discord), as well as to developers' feelings. Let's see what that really means in-game... At least, there seems to be feedback by some pro riders as well, and they do hopefully know how the AI should behave...

Read something last year about some streamers who were invited to the game's headquarters and I can say the message was pretty good, that the people working in the game put a lot of effort but sometimes lack the resources.
However looking back, PCM18 was (well since 12 which is the first one I played) a big revolution that wasn't actually properly advertised, was a positive surprise, so I think anything can come. Also there is a new cycling manager game similar to PCM said to come out later this year I think it's confirmed, this competition can consequently make PCM better in the long term as they'll have to invest more and make the game better to keep having the same number of players.

That's quite exciting to hear, what is it? Can't find anything on it online.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

It's a secret as far as I know but I've heard a big streamer say he was set to test it this year, and if I recall last year there was some advertising on a game here
https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread...d_id=53102
Found this one, don't think it's moving forward if that crowdfunder means anything but it's a clear sign there has been intention to create a big game for some time

Whoever is/if is making that game either has pits of money or is really stupid. PCM has complete control of cycling market, youre gonna need an incredible game to take away a market share of already very small amount of people. Theres a reason why noone bothers challenging FM or OOTP. You cant unless youre willing to be losing a lot of money
