Time to really start our season after the slow start... We could use some points to move away from any relegation danger for good

Hoping Nerz can stay in contention during hilly stage 3 and manage a top 10 finish.
Haller might manage a couple of minor placing in the sprint stages, every point counts.
Thanks for a great preview.

Dang Ciolek just didn't have it today and again no help from Mezgec is not nice
Congrats to Ahlstrand, well deserved win
Don't really like Borges getting all those bonus seconds as he is now the clear favourite to take yellow on stage 3. On the other hand at least Beltran didn't lose any time for GC like some others, so that's good. Also nice see Pibernik having a go in the breakaway

Oh Higuita getting his ass kicked in those sprints He'll be up there soon, good experience for him and awesome to see him in a break here! Bennett with a very tidy finish in 16th, either he's our team's sprinter and this is all going to go to shit, or he's paying attention and looking good for the hills and mountain!

Yeah, messy sprint but still a win
Something wrong with the jersey Ahlstrand is not World Champion, he won the B worlds and a blue jersey is submitted for him! |

Will be checked asap.
He is WC in the DB. Reporting started when not all shirts were submitted, so might be the issue here. But need to check. |

Hmm... well I guess I'll just call him the B worlds champion then, and we will have to look at that going forwards (the post-xfer db also has him with a Yes in the World Champion box).
Edit: Just double checked, I have the blue jersey, labeled "mg19_vlv_maillot_wcb"
should be "mg19_vlv_maillot_world". It is fixed now (if you want to see how it looks, may need to clear browser cache).
Won't matter in stage 2, gets a different jersey anyway.

Good job by Gibbons getting into the break, getting those intermediate bonuses and now leading the U25s. All points are welcome. Te Brake on the wrong side of the split meaning we had a no show in the sprint. Marquez and the rest being safe is a good outcome though.

This stage turned out much differently than what I had expected. Seeing Borges in the break is definitely surprising, but having him harness all those bonuses and finish the day 2nd in GC is actually a very good result.
Congrats on the victory viking!

Let's start with the good, we all made the split and Oomen's GC is still possible. But yeah, Bonifazio sprinting instead of Van Asbroeck or Gaviria? Let's just say it was a chaotic stage and we made the most of it, but I would like to see more of my main sprinters tomorrow.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Heartbreaking to see Suaza ruined every chance of a good GC-placement in this stage.... |

Appo isn't a high flat guy. I guess AKA would have been the better pick given the crosswinds. IIRC I did some shuffling and swapped them in my planner here to maximize race day numbers. Looks like it didn't work out. Hopefully he'll do better tomorrow.
Garby losing time doesn't matter since he would have died on the hill stage anyway. Warbasse now could maybe top 20 with some competitors behind.

Not the best effort from our sprinter, just have to hope the team was working so hard to create the split that is ruined our sprint setup, will always be very messy when the breakaway gets caught this late.
If the split will help Martin later might even be worth it.
Great report Kent thanks.

Good try from Mareczko, just again not the sprinter I was expecting. Impressive win for Volvo!

Something just feels right about seeing Ahlstrand winning races in PCT again.

Congratz to viking, wow I guess it was the first 1-2 we have seen so far.
My team was working to close down the break, but looks like for Martin (crossing the line first)
Thanks for a really great report.
