Oh no! I crashed! It's over with fighting for the win that was still possible!
There is one issue with that. I was feeling great, I was still in the front group that was fighting for the national title. And I crashed on the descent.

Now a little break. Still in form, but this classic isn't exactly where I can feel that I'm able to deliver. Yet the route is making me think that last few km might be interesting.
My goal for today is top 50. It's more than possible. With 24 km to go, the peloton is having only 42 riders.
12 km left - only 22 riders in the front group.
Oh my! It's yet another win! What a brilliant race in Brescia!

It's time for two more classics before we come back to more stage racing. First of all, in Guatemala.
That race have some nasty looking climb we have to ride 4 times. Thankfully, last run is far from finish.
The front group splits after last attempt on that steep climb. I don't feel quite well today...

Another interesting classic. First half of the race completely flat. Second half have a lot of hills. Last few kms are looking nasty. I'm really looking forward to see this up close!

We continue this season with two more stage races. This one is another U23 race with 3 mountain stages and 2 flat that might end with a chance for a victory for me. I'm not saying anything, but I expect another full retard mode and grab at least 3 stage wins here!
First stage is flat, but with those difficulties throughout the stage I can smell a little chance for me.
Let's see how many I can drop on 3rd category climb.

That was a really hard race for me. I won one stage and final GC but crashed twice and it hurts a bit. I'm happy with my results and performance. Another race will be harder since there is a TTT and only one mountain stage. See you there!

My calendar for the remaining months of the year.
We start another stage race with a TTT. 21 km long so it's dangerous for me. There is only one mountain stage and I don't think I can gain that much time there. My expectations? I'll lose around 1'45" here. Hope I'm wrong. But since there are some WT team. It can be more than 2 minutes.
Oh heck, we lost even 3 minutes.

This is the only stage that might change the GC. Problem is, that final climb isn't really hard. Steady average of 5.3%. So I decided to join an early break.
Well, it's over - 38 km to go.
Since I was in the breakaway for the most part of today's stage, I didn't have enough energy for final climb. Racing against WT teams is still a challenge.

We are in this moment of the year when there are almost only one day races until the end of the season. Most of them are hilly, so we will how things will go for me.
We start with with GP Kranj. Last two climbs are the most important. Everything might decide right there.
First time attacking Favaro - 6.2 km / 5.4% average.

One of the last U23 races this year. Another hilly one. Route isn't really hard in second half so I expect a finish from smaller peloton.
I didn't expect the route to be that selective - 40 km to go. This is what was left.
30 km to go. This is really interesting. I'm riding at the front for almost all the time. I want to see more carnage than it is now!

Another U23 race. Flat access to an interesting round. Finish is on the top of the short climb. Small group of riders should fight for the win.

Yes indeed! I'm currently in a very good form.
One of the two flat classics remaining to the end of the season. It should ends with a mass sprint, even with those not fully flat rounds.
In the races like that there is always a possibility a breakaway can win it. Yes, they won it.

Almost last stage race this year. Not fully flat, but I don't expect to finish this on the high note.
TTT to open this race. My team isn't the best in that category so we need to hope we won't lost that much time here.
14th place out of 18 teams - I did even "gain" another 2 seconds to my time. So I'm at +1'44" now.

The only stage where the GC will change. And this is my last serious mountain stage this year. I want to finish this on the high note. It's the only way I can gain some time in this race. Especially when the team wants from me to win the whole race! I have to gain around 2 minutes at the finish! Oh my...
We start the final climb! 15 km long, average of 8.5%.

Less than 5 km. I can't see how I can gain 2 minutes in that distance. Especially if there is someone in front of me.
It wasn't enough to catch my fellow Italian! I did gain much more than 2 minutes to other riders, but I won't win this race.

That will be interesting. I never rode a single race on cobbles in my life. But I decided to give it a try right now. I'm close of finishing my first year as a cyclist, so I want to check how it is looking like. Who knows? Maybe I'll find my second speciality?
The situation is rather weird. Am I the strongest rider here? There are still 124 more kms.
110 km - it's all back together.
78 km to go - no one wants to ride. No one!
24 km to go! And I'm almost out of energy. How hard can it be?
6.5 km.
I'm seriously really exhausted. This was an incredible race. I finished 2nd which is amazing. I'm just sad no one wanted to work. That's probably the reason I lost the race. Due to lack of cooperation.

We now starts a series of 1.1 classics. What is most important, with many WT teams. Pressure is high as I want to deliver big time. First occasion is now. Difficulties are too far from the finish to make the difference. It should end with a finish from smaller group. But not too small.

Just at the outside of the top 10. I was completely out, but I'm happy with how the race went. Racing against WT riders is much more challening than I thought.
