After their introduction last season, we are planning to continue with Amateur teams for the 2019 season for boosting the team counts of lower interest races.
More details to follow when finalised, but in the mean time, if you'd be interested in managing an Amateur team, and currently manage in PT or PCT, please PM this account to register an interest. (It was PT only last year, and may still be, but this is a good chance to gauge interest across divisions)
The ability to fill in calendar choices quickly, and participate in a bidding period, all likely to be within the coming week, will be necessary. Please do not volunteer if you are likely to take more time to complete your main team activities.

Interested, but if some exact dates could be given, that would help a lot in my choice.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Here's some key information:
- The plan is to have up to 12 Amateur teams this season
- They will get to have up to 22/23 C1 race days, and up to 31/32 C2 race days, for an overall maximum of 54.
- Selections to be made using this file: https://www.dropb...A.xls?dl=0
- A 1 for the race you want to ride in Columns L and S. All C1 races must receive a priority number from 1 to 33; All C2 races must receive a priority number from 1 to 19.
- Details on Amateur transfer season to follow
Team Selection
This year we are offering for managers to team up as joint managers for an Amateur team.
There are 17 confirmed interested managers currently, for 12 teams, so this will mean a combination of single and joint manager teams - pending interest from other managers.
PT managers can choose to go solo. PCT managers will need to team up with another manager.
Confirmed interested managers below:
PT | PCT | Aquarius97 | baseballlover312 | Croatia14 | jandal7 | Eden95 | jaxika | jph27 | Marcovdw | Roman | redordead | roturn | Scorchio | sgdanny | Yellow Jersey | SotD | | TheManxMissile | | tsmoha | |
These 17, along with Ollfardh if the timings suit him, are guaranteed to be involved in an Amateur team, with their speed in expressing interest reassuring that they will be able to get the Amateur actions finished quickly.
This does leave room for some additional managers to express interest, depending on how many PT managers would rather go solo. Please PM me if you would now like to express an interest, having not done so before.
Please confirm in this thread once your decision has been made, over a solo or joint team manager position.
Timeline
- Team-ups to be decided ideally today, into Thursday is fine
- Amateur C1/C2 choices to ideally be submitted by Thursday evening - file on dropbox, and a PM to ManGame-Admin.
- Confirm Amateur team name by 12pm Friday. Jersey should be provided by 12pm Sunday. This one should be in a PM to me.
- Amateur Transfer will start at 8pm BST on Friday, and run through to 12pm BST on Sunday, lasting for 40 hours in total.
Other Managers
If you aren't involved in an Amateur team, you are allowed to nominate any Level 1 to 3 Free Agent rider in the database, to give them a much larger chance of being involved in an Amateur team. Please reply to this thread to do that.

I don't want to be a douchebag, but I prefer doing the team solo. I have a clear path for how I wan't the team to look like, and have also spent quite some time analyzing the division for weaknesses and potential gaps.
So Festina-Canal+ would like to try and defend the title as a solo team.
The jersey will remain the same. Should anything be done here, os is it accessable for those who need it?

I nominate Lorenzo Delco.
So, can amateur teams ride the same races as their principal teams (for PCT managers)? Will be fun |

Jerseys in the new game (and actually all PCMs since PCM16) are 1200x826; whereas they were 910x626 previously. So a new jersey will need to be provided - they can be rescaled up proportionally, although speaking with hoyle, these don't always look good.

OK thanks. I'll see if he can maybe help me create a new one then

As a hint how upscaled jerseys look, check the 2018 Avenir reports!

No, I don't want to have to burden jersey makers with creating for Amateurs teams as well.
All jerseys used in Avenir were scaled up actually, and looked fine, so a minimum would be to provide an old jersey format and we can scale it up. Preference is providing a jersey in the right format though - whether scaled up yourself, or using an alternate existing jersey in that format.

I think I'm gonna pass on amateur teams this year. It's good fun, but given there are already plenty of suitable managers I'm going to sit out this one.

Just a question. PCT amateur teams using the same jersey could be an issue if they race in the same race as the parent PCT team?

Amateur teams will need to have distinct name and jerseys to main teams. Last season many used jerseys they'd used in previous seasons with different sponsors, for example.

Ok, I understand. I only have one jersey, so it would be for me to team up with a team that has more history and jersey's in MG

Unless it's really needed, i rather be in a team alone. If my calculations are correct, and 4 PCT managers have to join to form two teams, only 3 PT managers would need to have a second manager in their amateur teams

This looks great, will be delighted if can be involved. Timings no problem for me as laid out barring unforseen circumstances.
Have put first feeler out to a potential team-up buddy. Timezone differences mean it might be a few hours before we can touch base to see if an appropriate collaboration contract can be put in place. Lawyers are already at work on the preparatory paperwork!
