@Jandal - The leader of the team is Summerhill, and Machado to a point. Pantano will be domestique and lead in a couple C2 races, as for Dowsett he is also one-sided but he does have the legs, and he is a secondary leader but should score solid points in the hills.
@quadsas - We developed an affection by seeing how he rode last season, if he can repeat that I'll be very happy!

I was joking
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Big turnaround for this team and some interesting names like Dowsett and Kip. Good thing I'm not planning to compete against Summerhill and co on the cobbles

Firepower coming in the team
Zhihui Jiang
The Chinese 25-year old comes in as a bargain, not because of his all-round quality, despite being a good rider his big feature is a strong 79PRL, he should be in contention in prologues but mainly act as a domestique throughout the year and also as a leadout if needed with his 75SPR/ACC.
Sergio Barrio
Also for minimal wage (all these are) Barrio comes in to fill the space as a domestique for Dowsett, he lacks the backups to ride for himself into big results but for his task he fits it perfectly, his 70MON/79HIL is in any case a very high quality for such a low wage.
Sonny Colbrelli
The 29-year old comes in for support and possible opportunities in the sprints, he features a solid 79SPR/75ACC which should be ideal for a leadout rider for Kip if needed. Again, it's about filling the holes in the team and we thoroughly believe Colbrelli may have an important role in the team this year.
Yanjanani Sakala
And perhaps the most surprising and diverse rider that we brought in the team this year is Zambian Sakala. The 31-year old is a very unique type of rider, the reason we hired him is as a breakaway hunter, his skillset is ideal, he features 76FLA which makes him a good engine as his backups are solid enough, but then his 66SPR/78ACC should make for a dangerous rider in flat stages and one that is able to accelarate from a group, his 80FIG should see him really agressive throughout the year and his 81DO will be another card in his deck that makes him ideal for solo escapes.

Georgos Tzortzakis
The Greek is coming from a decline but he brings with him a lot of experience from the WT, he has 79SPR/74ACC and like Colbrelli their goal is to be able to help Kip in the sprints and perhaps look for an elusive opportunity to mettle in with the fast men.
Gunnar Dahl-Olsen
From the Faroe Islands comes another solid rider for support on the cobbles squad, with 74COB he is capable of dealing with the hard terrain but his quality with 73FLA/72 adding to the very strong 77COB is what attracted him to us, and seeing no match he quickly joined our team.
Ulugbek Galiev
Galiev came to us and we felt like, despite not having been a main priority, he comes in as a bargain. Minimal wage of course, he is another one-sided climber whose goal is to help in the mountains and perhaps go for KOM's where his 76MON/79RES will be something that we'll get him really up the charts. He's 29, still has a lot of good years in his legs and may be a long-term bet.
Domen Novak
Finally, Domen Novak is the sole rider to come in as a loanee. His wage only 13k payed by us, made for a very good deal from which we profit by having a very solid domestique for the mountains. He came in from Isostar as a level 3, has 74MON/72HIL and strong 72STA/73RES/73REC backups which will see him as a valuable member of the team.

Lots of New Faces in a Brand New Squad
Here's how our team will look in this coming season where we will fight to stay in the division. Personal thoughts, we've had a great transfer season, despite having missed out on a big array of talents we had targeted our leaders give enough confidence of a successful first tilt at the PCT, a team built around Danny Summerhill and Tiago Machado but with lots of depth when it comes to all terrains. Summerhill set to become the strongest cobbled rider starting next season his importance will be even bigger, and he's got the support of several one-sided riders with him, the goal is to target the PCT cobbled races but obviously via wildcards we'd like to show our guns too.
Tiago Machado comes from a decline but was netted with a pretty solid wage, far from a top rider his goal will be to be consistent throughout the season and net a solid stream of points to ensure further score at the end of the season, he still has the legs to perform, he has the support of Seboka and Pantano, pure climbers who will also have a tilt at C2 races for sure and not only support but also go on breakaways and stage hunting, Hirschlein/Baltazar remain from last year as Galiev comes in as another big domestique.
In the Hills there's Alex Dowsett coming in from the FA, similar to Machado his goal is to make sure he's able to be there when it matters the most, no pressure on him winning races, what matter is that he scores, and he will have the support of Sergio Barrio and Andrea Zordan.
Time-trials it's the core we already had, with Hugues Mottin leading the charge with Richard Laningo Laizer and Albert Kireva, in a stronger division they'll have smaller importance but in TTT's they may prove vital.
For the sprints Ismael Kip was our call, we brought him in as a low-wager that's capable of sometimes being up there in the sprints, and we made sure by the hiring of Colbrelli and Tzortzakis that he will never be alone in the fast finishes.
As for loans, we're having in Domen Novak from Isostar, but most importantly loaning out Uwizeyimana so he can finally max out in EA Vesuvio. Jordi Majoral, a young national talent was hired and loaned out to OMV Petrom-Albania.al and Rory Townsend, a hope in the northern classics field was also hired and loaned out, to Equinor Pro Cycling.

An interesting strategy, Summerhill aside, of picking riders who are strong but do have their limitations. I think there should be a good chance that Uwizeyimana will be returning to a PCT team!

Yes I'm very confident in it too! Summerhill the big hitter obviously but it isn't a team with one card to play.

So many one-dimensional riders. Will be interesting to see how PCM18 handles your squad. I've never had any luck with one-dimensional riders, so I wish you and our former cyclist Sergio Barrio all the best. Also glad I kind of backed off on the cobbled circuit by getting rid of Altur with Summerhill in the division.

I'm feeling the pressure for Summerhill to perform As for the one-dimensional riders, obvious riders like Bakari and Barrio are for support, but some like Seboka, Pantano, Galiev, they are very good for KOM and stage wins, also I took great care of building a core that's very supported by high resistance, I think that will be crucial for the new PCM18 use

Interesting approach JY. We've discussed a little in the Skype general chat when you posted there, but obvious that your season will in large part be defined by the necessity for Summerhill to absolutely dominate the 30 or so appropriate cobbled race days on the PCT calendar. If he can produce the necessary points/wage return the investment in him necessitates, will then be an interesting journey following the rest of the squad scrambling to gather the rest of the points to ensure survival!
In the 2018 PCT field, I wouldn't hold out high hopes for you re: survival (maybe 50/50 from a gut feel), but I think the 2019 picture may be a little different with more teams with a lot of focus/budget invested in development if my overview of things is on the mark - a finalised DB is necessary to fully pass judgement. Of course the big unknown of PCM18 AI with the MG DB has the potential to throw all assessments out the window!
Look forward to racing against you this season, welcome to PCT!

Thanks for the kind words mate PCM18 AI is something I took into account, resistance is something I looked for whilst creating the core of my team, goal was to have more talents but they weren't possible in the end, and for the leaders I'm quite confident there will be enough scoring for relegation to not be a possibility.
