RTGUCI Announcement on Calendar Refurbishment

The RTGUCI has today announced that it will be refurbishing it's calendar over the next two seasons.

The 2019 calendar in particular, will see a reduced number of races and race-days, in a move designed to promote increased head-to-head competition among RTG riders. Some of the specifics include an increase in the number of cobbled races with a reduction in non-GT climbing race-days. The number of puncher and sprinting race-days remain similar. The total number of races will reduce from 44 to 42, while the number of race-days on offer will reduce from 197 to 184.

Looking further ahead, a new stage race covering Belgium, France and Switzerland is being touted to be added in the 2020 season. This 'mini-GT', of 10 or 11 race-days and made up of a mixture of profiles, will replace one of the GTs every-season, and be held in the period where the replaced GT is normally held. More details about this race will be released in due course.

Reactions are currently being assessed from the riders and their teams about the proposed changes. Stay tuned for news about the developments on the same...

Despite I didn't signed up for any GT I'm a bit puzzled to remove a GT from the calendar, because they're (with some one-day races) the gist of cycling...
However I agree to reduce the number of total race days for two reasons: as you said more head to head between us; and I have also to say that this leads to less work for you, that can bring to a longer story of this game in first, but above all go to a faster growth to our riders, that I think is the lack for this story-game to break through this forum Wink

Full support on increase cobbled races Pfft

Well, you have to take the small victories for now. I'm happy with Alunderis' Dauphine so far, his team is pretty strong so arriving ahead of team mates is a small victory, arriving ahead of other managed riders, too. Finishing just inside the top 100 is something I'm hoping for.

Good with race day reduction
Very good with cobble.increase, thanks!

Odd decision with the GTs tbough. It is cycling elementary after all.
