That last climb is brutal

Let the Kuss show begin
"He made a bigger comeback than Easter Sunday."

Here comes Sepp Kuss to put the hammer down for Jumbo Visma.

Nairo trying to go on the attack? Definitely trying to surge away on the climb.

Aru trying to barely hang on to the back of the group of favourites already. Same with Chavez and a few others.

Quintana putting the pressure on Superman now! Can he keep it up though? Valverde in danger now too.

Quintana and Roglic looking the most comfortable of the four so far, but haven't quite got the endurance to keep the tempo high enough to break the elastic band.

Quintana keen to try and break this elastic band, he goes again with a little acceleration. Lopez still up to the task though.

60 year old Valverde pffff

Malkael
Valverde wins the stage! Roglic crosses in second not far behind, with M.A. Lopez and Quintana distanced by a few seconds by the finish line. Lopez picks up third for the bonification on offer ahead of Quintana though.

Provisional 6 second gap given to Valverde\Roglic to Lopez\Quintana at the finishing line. Rafal Majka the best of the rest at over 40 seconds adrift of our stage winner Valverde. Lopez should move back into red with a 6 second lead over Roglic in second, Valverde moves up into third at +16s, with team-mate Quintana at +27s adrift of the red jersey currently.

Vuelta has been amazing so far..gosh this is 3rd. GT of the year..and last week will be super hard. But they are just killing each other on each mountain.

Wish I could watch these stages live. First week back at uni has made that a bit difficult. Some great action though. Looks like Movistar will screw it up again, but Valv is back on top for the day. Meanwhile, good things from Sepp Kuss!

I remember you picking him for my (very dead) fantasy game and I thought you were desperate for some Americans in the team, but he's riding a great Vuelta. Let's see if he can keep doing this for three weeks.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Has some vibe of 2012 in the air, with the three amigos wrecking first Froome and later themselves.

Depending on how they ride together today, probably one for the breakaway with 21 riders involved from 17 different teams.

David De La Cruz and Dylan Teuns back in the breakaway for another stage. Meanwhile, Astana have let loose Luis Leon Sanchez today, so wouldn't put it past Astana to walk away with the stage victory today. Some decent company in the break though with the likes of Zdenek Stybar also making the break though.
