I feel sick
Probably the most inspiring, spectacular, incredible ride I’ve ever seen and it’s snuffed out by the worst luck imaginable. Surely Pinot enters the annals with Christophe, Poulidor and Vieto as one of the unluckiest riders in history. I feel for him so much. What could have been. |

Wonder if FDJ will ride casualy for Alaphilippe when the opportunity presents itself. Gaudu for a stage win would also be quite fantastic, though.

So sad for Pinot. He was going to win this Tout and he knew it.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No Thibaut, this is heartbreaking Agree with trek and Ollfardh, how unlucky when this was his to win finally.
Come on Ala!

15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Contador at least won it 3 times. This was probably Pinot's biggest chance and it won't come again.

I wouldn't say it won't come again but this was a unique opportunity for sure. I was mostly referring to a rider I really (started to) like leaving TDF injured whilst being in prime form.

I'm really bad with nicknames. VO2 MAX is Alaphilippe? Who's D'Artagnan?

VO2 Max is Gaudu since there was an article few years ago that they never seen anyone with such a huge VO2 Max potential ever.
Alaphilippe is D'Artagnan because of the beard and the fighting spirit |

Really sucks for Pinot to abandon. He was riding so well and this was probably his best chance. Instead, this almost guarantees that if Ala drops, Sky wins another.
