That could be their tactic, morph into each other's places mid race, less tired legs and more efficient effort management. |

Will Landa get stronger in third week? Cuz he has to for podium. But he has a full GC Giro in his legs..hm. However, in 2017 he was strongest in the Tour third week after racing Gir hard for stage wins.

I’m a fan of an undefined A. Yates-Haig focus (like Orica 2016 Vuelta) working. Together with Chaves (and Hamilton I suppose) in a similar role to Giro. All depends on how good he is but I’m not sure how he’s going on his recovery obviously and unless he’s back to that level then it’d be best I think not to give him much pressure. Haig really deserves a shot to see what he can do though I agree
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

What are good stages for Bora to use Sagan for Buchmann? I see Gap and Tignes. Could be a fun raid.

Landa post race comment by CN:
Mikel Landa (Movistar) – third on stage 15
"In the Tourmalet, it pained me not to dispute the stage victory. This time we didn't make it either, but more because of Simon Yates' strength than my lack of it. We sent three riders ahead and we gave everything for it. The team was phenomenal.
"Yes [I think of the podium], why not? I gave up a lot of time because of the crash, but in the Alps we still have climbs over 2,000 metres in three very demanding stage. Let's see, Landismo never dies.
"It was a pity Quintana couldn't do anything else. A couple of kilometres of relief wouldn't have done me any harm." (AS)

Enric Mas is suffering from a gastroenteritis which explains his demise from the GC and perhaps less a helping hand for Alaphilippe. |

I really hope Pinot will get this Tour...he deserve it more than any other GC contender.
I have to say that Bernal current level is overrated imo, everything he won (but actually also prestigious ones) was quite casual (Paris-Nice with major contenders losing time here and there in apparently innocuous stages) or without real opponents (18 California and 19 Swiss)...he is just 22 and needs more time for a GT lead imo
Also have to say that he is quite boring...agree with Shonak that remind me Quintana in this sense

He'll have to make up plenty of time in the mountains because I hear the last stage is a bit flat so he'll probably lose a couple of minutes there.

Yes, Pinot would be very deserved winner. I like his attacks in this Tour. But I am afraid that he will crack in one of the three Alp stages.
Anyway its good to know that there are only mountains left, which should not suit Thomas so well. I think only Pinot and Landa are really strong pure climbers.
Btw Nibali may be pretty angry that he had chosen Giro
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

lol, did you come up with that yourself?
I'm glad I was wrong thinking that Sky/Ineos would dominate the race again, we could hardly be in a more exciting situation going into the final week. You can make a convincing case for any of the top 6 to win. Not Landa, surely, his gap is still too large, he can't distance all the other riders by 3+ minutes.
