Yeah, he was. Now I'm sad too about the Albi stage
Then again he might not have pulled the way he did if he was still in for the GC

Crazy stage, a bunch of guys not ending up where you'd think they would, and Alaph has initiated full 2011 Voeckler, just liked I hoped!
Disappointed to see Martin dropped so early, but I expected as much. His TT is always bad, but he wasn't in contention for the win on the shorter punchy stages in the first week or on Planche, all which should have suited him very well. So I figured he was on bad form.
Movistar are the biggest joke in professional cycling. What exactly were they trying to do today? They're not even gonna get a top 5 out of this Tour.
Well said. Jokistar's best rider was Amador, which is kinda funny because they are the most amateurish top team in the peloton.
But everyone calm your vaginas. This was clearly the peak of this race. Next mountain stages won't possibly be as gracious as this one. Also Ineos has pretty much intact chances of taking the win in Paris.
Kruisjwick has the team and the legs. He should be the best non-Ala-non-Ineos hope.
I honestly don't see Alaphilippe losing 2 mins on Thomas or 3 on Bernal.

Wtf has happened to Quintana he a shade of his former self ,the decline been unbelievable.
Colombians generally peak very, very early. Not always, but mostly. Look at Bernal. looks like a phenom right now, and probably will win some GT's, but I'd expect a decline by 28ish.
Yes pretty much this. Except maybe for Rigo.

Yeah maybe. Hopefully he'll get another chance to ride for his own soon though Roglic will ride the Vuelta so maybe not this year..

Can Jumbo hold this team for the next few years? I remember they used to have a tight budget but maybe Jumbo is ready to invest big time

What an awful stage in terms of racing. (It was excellent for me in terms of results; Thomas dropped, Ala excellent, Landa ahead of Quintana in GC) I hope Ala wins this.

He’s down as leader for Vuelta from all the information I’ve seen which is fantastic, hopefully he can somehow help Kruijswijk do his best here but not overdo it as he seems to have great legs here. Indeed this does make me feel worse about Albi, but shit happens I guess and as Bennett said himself if not then he would’ve sacrificed himself another day

I do and honestky think it's the more likely scenario. Ala has won Califórnia before but otherwise never proved himself as a top GC candidate especially in 3 weeks. I hope I'm wrong though.

You take out the ~2 minutes Landa lost on Stage 10 from Barguil accidentally taking him out while in the leading group and he would easily be Movistar's best placed GC rider. Has me interested to see what Quintana might be capable of in a different team just so we can get a better idea of if he just peaked early and had a very swift decline set in or if Movistar have just been mismanaging him terribly.

I guess Jumbo are bringing more money than Lotto used to. There were rumors Dumoulin might join them if he is to leave Sunweb so they probably have a lot more money now.
The biggest problem for me is that it will be quite difficult to have enough guys to satisfy both Groenewegen and a GC rider capable of challenging for yellow. This year works since Kruijjswijk is just a podium candidate, or at least was at the start of the Tour. It would be difficult to defend a yellow jersey with just De Plus and Bennett, I think.
I guess it could work with guys like Martin and Van Aert who can work in the flat stages and on early climbs/slopes but the team might grow tired by being in the front in both flat and mountain stages.

It certainly was, these super mtns look good on paper and if they were raced from a long way out they would be great, but with the survivors just waiting for the final two kms like today it's not so exciting.

Thinking anyone would attack and win like Schleck did wouldn't happen, impossible, racing is like this now and in a finish like this and with everyone so evenly matched it was more than obvious wasn't it

Also, totally different point in the race. In 2010 it was stage 20 and this year it was the first serious mountain stage.

I expected more from Porte.
