Tour de France 2019
Forever the Best
It looks like there was good racing today (missed the stage) but it may be awful for rest of the race. Hopefully the ones who fall back go big on the mountain stages instead of riding for 5th, 7th etc.

Pinot and Landa you were supposed to take down Sky Sad
Hopefully Landa goes all-out with long range attacks in mountains instead of slaving for Quintana.

I hope Tibo doesn't mentally collapse after today.

nothing about this stage result pleases me

1) Winners of the stage: *every GC rider I dislike*
2) Losers of the stage: *every GC rider I like*
3) Bennett Sad
4) freaking Van Aert winning whilst I didn't select him as my road captain in TdF fantasy after last minute switching from him to Groenewegen. did the reverse for the stage Groenewegen won

massive salt mountains aside, great stage to watch, great winner.

Why is Team Ineos under such circumstances as today on the winners side? It tells you something. They definitely know how to ride at the front.
Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

Good stage today. I have to agree with Kalach, Ineos isn't lazy, they do their work everyday. On flat stage you'll always see them at th efront in the last 10K. Same today, they were all positioned well while others were being lazy in the middle of the pack. I still hate them, but credit where credit's due.

Wout amazing once again. Of course he takes advantage of a tough race, but still the names he beats today. He still needs to find his limits.

Funny thing is, I always felt the riders were exaggerating when they say how unprofessional Sniper Cycling was. But just look at how good WVA, Merlier and De Bondt have become, they were completely right about the shitty management.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

True, but it is easier to ride on the front all day when you can afford to hire a team full of major riders.

You have to love - or at least respect - cycling for stages like these. It seems so easy, stay in the peloton, finish with the other GC contenders... but just the smallest gap/weakness/mistake can have major consequences.

Ciccone: "The gap was only two meters and at the beginning it looked like it was nothing and we could close it right away."

Porte: "We knew it was coming, but when they put it in the gutter there on the left-hand side, I was the last guy to not get across. It was just a power thing, and I just wasn’t up for it today."

Fuglsang: "I was in the wrong place at the wrong moment. I had just taken some bottles from a soigneur at the side of the road when some other teams started to pull, creating gaps in the peloton."

Tbh despite everything I dislike about Ineos, there's nothing easy in what they've done yesterday. Being on the right side of the split in these sort of stages requires a lot of focus and attentive riding. Again despite all their hipocrisy you see them day in and day out working their asses off for positioning in stages like this. That's hard work.

Hopefully yesterdays riding will make the second week an attack bonanza. Hoping to see Pinot and Bardet going crazy in the mountains.

According to Bennett the comms were messed up and he thought he had to go get bottles. When he got back to the team car the manager was surprised because the team didn't even need bottles at the time.

Ugh this is so frustrating

So basically Ineos are 1-2 in the GC because for all we know Ala will crack in the real mountain stages of this week.

great.

Not like they have other option, if they have the legs they have to go crazy. They also gona lose more time in the TT.

And they're not even running Froome.exe. They're using the Gernal app!

Ya this say a lot about the mindset of those semi GC contenders, you just can't take bottles on a windy stage if you aim to ride a top GC in TDF.

I don't belive Astana havent got the rider to sit close to the front, is all about the mindset, "SKY" think we will win this - most other think maybe we might podium this.
